OH SNAP; Did Jill Scott & Anita Baker almost get into it @ VH-1 Divas 2011?
There is a bit of hot tea regarding this alleged Diva fight between Jill Scott and Anita Baker last week
Here's the tea:
Ok, the reason the tea sounds plausible is because Anita Baker was one of the scheduled performers on all the promo press, but mysteriously wasn't on the show.

Then Ledisi talked about having to fill in at the last minute to sing Anita Baker's signature song 'Sweet Love', telling VH1 in an after concert interview,
“I was headed to go to the red carpet and the producers and the music director and my manager all came rushing to my room. I was asked ‘Can you sing ‘Sweet Love’?” and I was like, ‘Stop playin! [laughs] Anita Baker’s singing that’. But then they told me ‘No, this is serious.’ And I was like “Oh my God, yeah sure, sure, if you need me, I’ll do it.’ I didn’t ask what happened because I didn’t want to be in the middle of that

To be really brief:
Its widely regarded by staff that this was Jill Scott's fault. Did not want to perform the song Sweet Love at all, annoyed production staff but acted like an ass when she didn't have the song changed and completely ditched Anita at their dress rehearsals and other things. Anita is rumored to have pulled out as a result. There were no blows or argument; as production staff I have to say that it really was Jill Scott blowing Anita Baker off.

No shade Miss Jill you should have the pissed slapped out your Mouth! You must RESPECT those who have come before you and made it possible for you to be where you are today. Right about now "WHO IS JILL SCOTT?" A DAMN IDIOT.

Jill Scott should be thankful her fat behind has a career if not for the Anitas of the world she would be playin the once called chittlin circuit..disrespecting your elders acting like you are Beyonce with your small little career give it a rest nappy head!
ReplyDeleteI am really suprised at Jill! I thought she had more class than that. She should be ashamed of herself. That's what's wrong with people now. No respect for others. I would have been honored to sing with Anita. How dare she!!!
