AT LAST NOW,She can get some Rest! Etta James to Retire After Final Album

*Legendary R&B singer Etta James has announced her decision to retire following the release of her new album today

The 73-year-old has been in and out of the hospital in recent months undergoing treatment for leukemia, and she was admitted to a California medical center in May after she was diagnosed with a potentially deadly sepsis problem, caused by a urinary tract infection. James was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2009.
She has been out of the spotlight for a number of years and she’s now set to mark the end of her 50-year career by releasing her final studio album, “The Dreamer,” on Oct. 25.

The Grammy Award-winner will then call it quits and concentrate on her health.

“I wish to thank all my fans who have shown me love and support over all these years. I love you all,” she said in a statement.

I spoke many times to an NYC detective about Cathy White’s autopsy and toxicology report and guess what? The detective told me they found nothing suspicious in both the toxicology or autopsy reports – but oddly he was vague and apprehensive about giving me more specific details.

Was Cathy White murdered? According to the NYPD police department she wasn’t.

Days after Cathy passed away I started to get some hate mail from a few of her relatives. I sympathized with their loss, so I let them vent…..but a few weeks ago I received an email from one family member who apologized for his harsh words to me. So I gave him a call to feel out the situation and express my condolences. It was never a personal attack on Cathy, I didn’t know her from a hole in the wall. I only reported her as Jay Z’s mistress because it was the truth.

Here’s what Cathy’s family member had to say:
“I don’t know what happen but I’m in the music business so I got my eyes open. I’m not afraid so if I find anything that looks suspicious I’m going to react.

Cathy’s father and stepmother ain’t talking and I didn’t get to her apartment to snoop around. But I thank you for what you’re doing and if anything pops up I’ll let you know.”

I also reached out to Jay Z’s camp and all they wanna talk about is HSK correcting the post about Jigga’s lovechild. Don’t believe me? Ask Jerard Andrews.

If any information is revealed to me regarding Cathy White’s death HSK readers will be the first to know. I am not intimidated by anyone, so anyone calling with tough talk is wasting their time, regardless, there were no threats (except prior, and only then from Cathy and Claudia Jordan), nor did any money change hands (with me) to quite the story. People are still talking though. Know why? Because the Cathy White articles on HSK still get thousands of hits everyday.

Webbie BANNED from 106th and Park!

Attention, hardcore Webbie fans, Trill Entertainment aficionados, and the 367,452 people who bought the Savage Life 2 album back in 2008: If you were planning on watching the Baton Rouge rapper on BET's 106 & Park anytime ever again, we're sorry to inform you that that will not be possible. Shortly after he appeared on 106 & Park last Friday and helped judge the show's popular "Freestyle Fridays" segment, 106 & Park co-hosts Terrence J and Rocsi announced that Webbie would no longer be permitted to appear on the show. Yes, you heard that right. Webbie has been banned from 106 & Park. Hear their explanation below:

So, why was Webbie banned? Well, we have no idea. Some folks are saying he allegedly reeked of weed when he pulled up to 106 & Park and acted completely unprofessional behind the scenes. Others are saying he whispered something offensive into Rocsi's ear. But whatever he did, one thing is clear: He's no longer welcome on the set of the tweenager-loving video countdown show. We can't say we're particularly startled by Webbie's behavior—this is, after all, the same guy who once led cops on a high-speed police chase that ended in a Wal-Mart parking lot—but we are a little surprised that he's now banned from 106 & Park forever. Forever ever.

But there's gotta be something that dude can do to get back into BET's good graces, right?

"Love & Hip Hop 2" has new chicks for the new season!

Singer Teairra Mari will appear on "Love & Hip Hop 2," according to her publicist who is already shopping interviews, but VH1 is keeping her a secret for some reason. But they have confirmed 2 other new cast members.

We already know this new season kicks off with a bang as Chrissy reportedly beat down newcomer Kimbella (Juelz Santana's baby mama twice over), shutting down production for days. And now we also know there's another newbie named Yandy Smith who is Jim Jones' manager..

When last season left off, Emily was moving on from Fabolous (even though they're back together now), Olivia was still pushing for a new album, Somaya was still beefing with the other girls and chasing the dreams of her rap career and moving out her producer's attic, and Chrissy was still waiting on a real answer from Jim Jones to her proposal.

“Love & Hip Hop” is executive produced by Mona Scott-Young. Season 2 will showcase all the drama in 10 1-hour episodes.

Snoop Dogg Celebrates His 40th Birthday Party Pics From Snoop's 40th

West Coast legend Snoop Dogg recently celebrated his 40th Birthday (280 in dog years) at the Rolling Stone Lounge in Hollywood.

California knows how to party. West Coast icon Snoop Dogg turned 40 with a little help from his family and friends. Dr. Dre, Too $hort, The Lady of Rage, Warren G, Far East Movement, DJ Quik, Tyrese, and more joined Tha Doggfather at a private birthday bash at Rolling Stone Lounge in Hollywood last night. His wife Shante Broadus and kids were by his side as he was presented with a cake in the shape of a Colt 45 malt liquor bottle. To top it all off, funk pioneer Bootsy Collins performed and the legendary Chaka Khan serenaded the Boss Dogg with “Happy Birthday.”

As I also recently reported, Snoop had a pre-birthday party in London that was, uhh, interrupted, by his wife who told the scantly dressed Playboy bunnies in attendance to kick rocks.

Rihanna Settles Plagiarism Lawsuit Over 'S&M' Video

Rihanna has settled a lawsuit with photographer David LaChapelle, after he accused her of copying his work for her controversial “S&M” music video.
LaChapelle sued the “We Found Love” singer earlier this year for $1 million in damages, claiming she stole scenes "directly derived" from some of his images. In July, a judge in New York granted permission for the case to go to trial, but according to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, Rihanna settled for an undisclosed sum.

According to LaChapelle's publicist Jaret Keller, "David is happy with the settlement."

Rihanna still faces a second suit with Paris-based photographer Phillipp Paulus.

John Singleton To Sue Paramount Pictures

Director John Singleton is pissed! Back in 2005 he gave Paramount Pictures and MTV Films the right to distribute his highly acclaimed film Hustle & Flow. However, those rights came at the promise of Paramount promising to fiance and distribute two additional films in the future. Apparently, Paramount isn’t keeping their word and now John Singleton wants $20 million…minimum.

Paramount Pictures is sending John Singleton through all kinds of mess and have made it impossible for him to make the movies that they promised to finance. John isn’t taking kindly to this either being that his movie Hustle & Flow allowed them to make millions of dollars while John was only given a small fee of $9 million. Singleton also had been noted as saying that he has passed up a number of opportunities to sign with other big name companies. Therefore, he’s suing for $20 million.

X Factor judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger are not getting along behind the scenes and the situation is about to explode.

While the women play nice for the cameras, behind the scenes, “It’s war!” an insider reveals to Star. “They’ve been fighting nonstop.” At issue? “They bicker like crazy over who gets to wear the sexiest, most stylish outfits. Paula tried to lay down the fashion law with Nicole, 33, soon after Nicole replaced axed British judge Cheryl Cole, the source says, spelling out her dos and don’ts for Nicole’s wardrobe.

“She convinced Nicole to switch out of a tight red top before one taping because she said it clashed with Nicole’s skin tone,” the source reveals. Another time, when Nicole told Paula she planned on wearing a short dress with a plunging neckline, the sources says, “Paula put the kibosh on that. She told Nicole she was already wearing a miniskirt, and their style sense shouldn’t appear too similar to the viewers.”

Lil Wayne, who was ordered to stay sober for three years as a term of his probation after an eight month prison stint for gun possession last November can't wait to be able to get high again... Weezy tells GQ Magazine,

"I'm good. I ain't tripping. I'm used to it now. But I was never on heroin or cocaine or ecstasy or nothing like that. I drank syrup and smoked a lot of weed. I wish I could be back on it... I cannot wait until I get off probation."

First Lady Michelle Obama Reveals New KITCHEN GARDEN Portrait With Bo, Talks New Garden Book

How lovely. First Lady Michelle Obama just revealed her brand new official portrait in the White House Garden, which she aptly created and calls the Kitchen Garden. Check out her new pic with First Dog Bo, plus what she's revealing about her brand new book about her signature project of a garden....

Mrs. Obama and Portuguese Waterdog Bo sat for the first official portrait in the White House Garden recently. All in preparation of the First Lady's new book about the very garden her family eats from.

First Lady Michelle is well known to pick fruits and vegetables from the garden with school kids and chefs as she continues her mission of health and fitness across the country.

She created the garden as part of a change of eating habits and health for the First Family, and the White House chefs use ingredients from the garden everyday. In her upcoming book releasing April 2012, she speaks on the joy and productivity her new creation has brought people's lives.

According to the publicity blurb from Crown Publishing Group, First Daughters Sasha & Malia "were the catalysts for change for their family's eating behavior which inspired her national initiative to address childhood obesity and resulted in the idea to plant a vegetable garden on the South Lawn."

On why she chose Bo to pose in the official portrait with her:

“It is me and Bo and we’re in the garden. And one of the reasons we did this picture is because we get so many letters from kids, mostly, who want to hear about the garden, they want to see it, and they also want to see Bo. Bo is really the most popular…We’ve heard so many great stories from kids who’ve been inspired and doing things like changing the way their families do things. And those letters are always just a joy to get. So we want to have something a little more tangible than just a letter to give to kids, because often it’s the visual thing that makes it real.”

She told the NY Times about the First Family's involvement in their Kitchen Garden:

"Virtually the entire Obama family, including the president, will pull weeds, “whether they like it or not,” Mrs. Obama said with a laugh. “Now Grandma, my mom, I don’t know.” Her mother, she said, will probably sit back and say: “Isn’t that lovely. You missed a spot.”

By the way, Bo just turned 3 a couple of weeks ago. Cute!

DSquared2 Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Reportedly inspired by this year’s Glastonbury Festival, twins Dean and Dan Caten, the designers behind the DSquared2 fashion line, unveiled their Spring/Summer Womenswear line during Milan Fashion Week.

Clearly inspired by the 1970’s, the line consisted of mostly hippy chic pieces like denim vests, headbands, floopy hats, go-go boots and plenty of items with the American flag emblazoned across them.

The Legendary Studio 54 reopens for one night only

They may not have been around for Studio 54's glory days, but Cameron Diaz, Naomi Campbell and Bar Refaeli made up for it at the iconic club's relaunch last night.
The three beauties attended the 70s-era nightclub's One Night Only party in New York City and cuddled each other close for photographs.
None of the ladies looked particularly disco friendly at the event. In fact, all three dressed in fairly plain, monochromatic garb.

Cameron, 39, opted for a black ensemble with a simple chain while Israeli model Bar, 26, looked even more low-key in a simple white T-shirt, a dark bra barely visible underneath.

Naomi, 41, was the most fashionably dressed of the women in a layered peach frock.
Other guests at the event included those who were actually present for the club's heyday, like Keith Richards and wife Patti Hansen.

His daughter, 25-year-old model Alexandra, also attended looking rather sedate in a long black dress and leather jacket.
Ryan Phillippe, 37, who's reportedly the father of model Alexis Knapp's newborn daughter, was caught at the event arriving alone.
Martha Stewart, Bethenny Frankel, Gayle King, Donald and Melania Trump, Stephen Baldwin and Kevin Bacon were among the other stars who took a trip back in time to the disco days.

Original Footloose star Bacon, 53, fondly recalled his favourite days at the club known for its famous revellers and crazy shenanigans.
'I started coming here when I first moved to New York. I remember standing right out here and hoping I would get pick,' the actor revealed to Entertainment Tonight.
'I was just a kid. I came here all by myself, and danced by myself and had a great time.'

Given the huge grins of the guests at One Night Only, not much has changed.

Anthony Hamilton Announces Album Release Date & Tour Dates

Soul singer Anthony Hamilton has been busy this past year working on his forthcoming seventh studio album. While details are still minimal about the project, Hamilton did take to his Twitter page to announce the official release date of the yet-untitled opus – December 13th, 2011.

On Wednesday morning, Hamilton tweeted to his followers, "My NEW album is dropping DECEMBER 13! It's a beast. Can't wait for y'all 2 hear it. Love y'all." This album will serve as the follow-up to his 2008 album 'Point of It All.'
The project is being lead by the Babyface produced single "Woo," which is also the number one most added song on Rhythmic & Urban radio stations this week. Hamilton also revealed that he & Babyface were inspired to write the song while on their road trip to Tahoe, California because of the breath-taking view.
Back in February, Hamilton was in the early stages of the album and revealed to exclusively of its progress.

"It's going really well," Hamilton says of the album. "I'm working with some really heavy hitters this time and just branching out. It's really going well."

Along with a new album comes a new tour. Though Hamilton has not officially announced tour dates yet, he has revealed that he will be embarking on a tour this winter, which kicks off in Los Angeles on November 9th. Ticketmaster also lists over a dozen tour dates for the "Can't Let You Go" hit-maker.

McDONALD’S WORKER WHO BEAT DOWN UNRULY CUSTOMERS APPEARS IN COURT

Rayon Mcintosh Appears In A Manhattan Court On October 18th... I personally am TEAM RYAN!

Rayon McIntosh, who is now best known as the former McDonald’s employee that beat down two unruly customers with a metal rod appeared in a Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday (October 18) and argued self defense.

31 year-old McIntosh was seen on video hitting Denise Darbeau and her friend Rachel Edwards, (both 24), with a three-foot-long metal rod (usually used to clean the griddle) after they jumped the counter and went after him. The whole thing sparked after he questioned the validity of a fifty dollar bill they were using.
While in court, his lawyer, Theodore Herlich said this:

it’s very clear [the two women] were coming after my client, who had in effect retreated to the rear part [of the kitchen] and was not seeking a confrontation,” Herlich said, adding that his client didn’t know if the women were armed at the time READ MORE HERE

Assistant District Attorney Jamie Mendoza partially agreed, but felt he went too far, since one of the “victims” now has a skull fracture and other serious injuries..

“Not only did she curse out the hardworking employees at the McDonald’s working the graveyard shift, but then she did go over the counter into an area which is prohibited to the public. The defendant could have handled the situation in a manner which did not lead him to repeatedly strike Ms. Darbeau and Ms. Edwards,” Mendoza added.

According to reports, the Judge said there was probable cause to hold McIntosh and this gives prosecutors time to put together their felony case and present it to a grand jury. McIntosh and Edwards are due back in court in December, while Darbeau is expected next month.

Nile Rogers Talks Disco, Drugs, More in Memoir ‘Le Freak’

*The Hollywood Reporter has a review of the new tell-all book from legendary producer Nile Rogers.
With his band Chic and later on his own, the musician helped define the sound of the late 1970s and early 1980s. From songs like “Le Freak” and “Good Times,” which he co-wrote with longtime musical partner Bernard Edwards, to seminal albums by David Bowie (Let’s Dance), Madonna (Like A Virgin) and Diana Ross (Diana), all multi-platinum smashes he produced, few modern-day musicians can claim a professional past so storied, much of it experienced under the ever-present haze of drugs and alcohol.

Rodgers tells his life story — the good, bad and utterly absurd (like how his “office” at Studio 54 was a stall in the women’s bathroom) — in Le Freak (Spiegel & Grau), out this week. It’s a gripping account of his rags-to-riches rise, which began in New York City but eventually brought him out west to L.A. His introduction to drugs came early, as both his parents struggled with heroin addiction, but his taste later ran to cocaine and booze, two substances readily available during his and disco’s heyday — and two cultural happenings forever linked in song.

The book is full of surprises as talent meets unbelievable excess at a time before the internet, mobile phones or even compact discs. Among them, these five Rodgers revelations:

He took acid with Timothy Leary and didn’t even know it. As a teenager living in South Central, Rodgers and a buddy were invited to a party in the Hollywood Hills one afternoon, where they both ingested LSD for the first time and spent the next 36 hours chilling with one Dr. Timothy Leary. Twenty years later, Leary would recount the night at a party, describing “two young spade cats dressed in suits,” and leaving Rodgers, a fellow party guest, floored. Rodgers calls it “hippie happenstance — to explain the unexplainable.” 

A jam with Jimi Hendrix will only live on in memory… because they got high. Rodgers recalls a night spent in a New York City loft when he ended up jamming with the guitar legend: “We moved and grooved like a flock of birds… The studio was thick with cigarette and cannabis smoke. We were drinking from flasks filled with Almaden wine… I said, ‘This is the greatest stuff I’ve heard in my life….’ ‘Hey man,’ Jimi said, sheepishly. ‘Did anybody record that, man?’ We’d been so caught up in the moment – and of course so high – that no one had thought to roll tape!”

Brett Ratner’s mom helped Rodgers come out of his shell. Who knew? When Rodgers was still coming into his own as a performer, he looked to one of his Miami party pals, Marsha Ratner, as his “muse.” Writes Rodgers: “Marsha was the leader of a pack of fabulous people in that town’s wild party scene. She was also a single mom who reminded me of my own mother.” In a footnote, Rodgers notes that Brett Ratner “is like my brother, friend and son. Our identities are both formed in the color-blind world of art — and he’s as comfortable with Mike Tyson and the Wu Tang Clan as I was with the B-52’s or Duran Duran.” 

Rodgers was hired to work on the music for the 1988 film “Coming to America,” but because of Eddie Murphy’s earthquake phobia, he had to score dailies to avoid impending doom. “Paramount temporarily gave me my own studio, build over the weekend on the lot, to meet an absurd deadline,” Rodgers recalls. “Apparently, Eddie Murphy had been moved by an Orson Wells docu-style movie in which Nostradamus predicts the exact date of the big California earthquake… Eddie insisted that we wrap all his scenes before the Golden State plunged into the Pacific.”

Madonna was exhibiting diva-like behavior long before she became a household name. Among the many recording studio anecdotes was one detailed recounting of Rodgers’ time working with Madonna on her 1984 breakout album, Like A Virgin. “Madonna’s superintense let’s-get-down-to-business attitude sometimes rubbed people the wrong way,” he writes. “One day, Madonna’s insult slinging went too far. Our assistant had the temerity to go to the bathroom, and she freaked out on him…. ‘Where the f*** is he going?’ she said loudly enough that he could clearly hear. Unsatisfied, that she’s made her point, she then let off a fusillade from her usual arsenal of one-liners: “Time is money, and the money is mine.’” Rodgers confronted the would-be pop star and the argument turned so heated, he quit the record for what would turn out to be “the shortest producer strike in history.”

WOW…This book is a must get!

National Enquirer: Demi Moore’s Suicide Shocker! But Gossip Cop says NOT TRUE!

The October 24th issue of National Enquirer features the cover story ‘Demi Moore Suicide Shocker.’ Is Demi Moore is being driven to suicide by Ashton Kutchers‘ infidelity? All indications are that Demi is at the brink of personal catastrophe after her Husband’s affair with Texan party girl Sara Leal became public knowledge.
Still desperately in love with the much younger Ashton, Demi is frantically trying to get a grip as she drowns in a sea of insecurity, heartbreak and humiliation.

Demi has been pushed by Ashton’s infidelity right back into the still waiting arms of ex-husband Bruce Willis’ for support. Bruce is irate with Ashton and ready to intervene to save Demi.

Demi and Bruce were married for 13 years and have 3 daughters together so it is no surprise that Bruce is enraged with Ashton and intends to set him straight. Humiliating Demi and causing her such upset has put Ashton where he should expect some ‘Die Hard’ intervention.
Sara’s revelations are not helping the situation: Sara told The Sun newspaper: “We had sex twice. Everything felt natural. We were having a good time. One thing led to another. He was good but it wasn’t weird or perverted or creepy. I was attracted to him and he was attracted to me. He had great endurance. We were up for a while. It was about two hours.”

No wife wants to read something like this about the man she loves, let alone Demi who is already insecure about being married to a much younger stud like Ashton. Suicide can be a cry for help as well as a desperate attempt to escape from feelings of intense depression. Has Ashton Kutcher pushed loyal Demi too far….

Now Website Gossip Cop says it’s NOT TRUE! QUOTE: The Enquirer source adds, “I sense Ashton’s worried she might deliberately harm herself because she just can’t handle what’s going on in her life… [her] mental state seems so fragile.”But where are the actual specifics about Moore’s allegedly “fragile” mental state?
There aren’t any.
Instead, the Enquirer mentions her family’s history of suicide and suicide attempts, trying to make it seem as though she’s a time bomb just waiting to explode.
But the magazine knows it can’t support the dangerous “Suicide Shocker!” claim on its cover, so the Enquirer spends much of the actual article covering its behind.

“Demi continues to move forward,” says the story, claiming that ex-husband Bruce Willis has been there for support and alleging that she’s been attending 12-step program meetings.

In other words, the Enquirer wants everyone to believe that Moore is on the brink of suicide… except she may pull through with the help of rehab.
This is just another example of a tabloid using the grossest sensationalism to sell magazines without consideration for Moore’s actual health or her marriage’s actual status.

A source close to the actress tells Gossip Cop the “Suicide Shocker!” allegation is just plain wrong.

Mya Promotes Album in the ATL….WHAT ALBUM????

Singer Mya was the main attraction at Atlanta’s Tongue & Groove a few nights ago as she promoted her new album.

Mind you… I have no clue of the name of Mya’s new joint, and after 10 minutes searching Amazon and google, I had to gave up looking.

But it’s still a CELEBRATION B*tches!
