Greetings and Salutations All,
As you all know we lost The Mother of my house Paris
Dupree nearly a year ago but recently we ALL found this information out to
our shock, dismay and distressing amazement. It is only out of respect that
when your Mother passes on you remember her in the most respectful way possible.
That said Myself (Efrem), Michael, Terry, Michael Grant, Kerry, Haywood, who are the remaining living members of the house have decided to Memorialize her in honor of her
passing.
The original date was suppose to be September 30,
2011 with a consortium of folks involved. Unfortunately we ran into issues where folks wanted to take over and make
this more than what it is meant to be. It is NOT A BALL it is a MEMORIAL.
The Gay Community
knows her as PARIS DUPREE and in her honor The House of Dupree and those in
the LGBTQ Community will remember her as such.
That said the date for
THE MEMORIAL SERVICE of The Legendary Icon Paris Dupree birth name (Robert Issac Finley Jr) given by The House of Dupree will be on
October
7, 2011 at 7PM at The LGBT Community Center 208 West 13th Street NY, NY
10013.
This is NOT a battle between ICONIC legends and other ICONIC Legends
as some are now making this out to be unfortunately. It is a FAMILY AFFAIR and her
house children want to remember her in a special way!
And you're all invited as you all are FAMILY TO MISS PARIS!
SHE IS FOREVER A LEGEND!
We're hoping that this clears up any confusion that
may be out there. There is another Memorial and we encourage you all to attend both if you can!
We come in LOVE & PEACE and not in HATE, nor CONFUSION! We
appreciate the many folks who have reached out to us with their condolences. As
this is still a sore spot in our hearts and still has not really processed that
she is no longer on this earth with us. But we do know and understand that Earth hath no sorrow that
Heaven cannot heal! And as time goes on it will get better by and
by!

WE LOVE YOU AND HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL ON OCTOBER 7,
