Kobe Bryant & LeBron James Ready To Hand Out Loans To NBA Ballers During The Lock Out?!

Well this is interesting. In order for the NBA players to keep up their side of the lock-out standoff and not cave to what the billionaires want, the multi millionaires in the league like Kobe Bryant & LeBron James have offered up loans from their own pockets to players in need of money during the lockout.

Ballers needing "help" with their bank accounts already? Some interesting info inside...

Looks like this NBA lock out is going togo on for longer than folks expected. So the uber rich ballers are pitching in to make sure the NBA players stand their ground for their demands. Seeing that they may be headed into winter with nan a paycheck, apparently there's a fear NBA players will give up the standoff in order to get their bills paid. But don't many "ballers" spend their money on unnecessary ish and claim to have so much mula...enough millions that should get you through a few months?
National Basketball Players Assn. Executive Director Billy Hunter told the L.A. Times yesterday what this standoff is all about:
What would you define as the biggest holdup to an agreement?

"The system. The players are insistent there be no hard salary cap. If they [owners] keep pushing for the type of salary cap they've indicated, we'll give up any percentage to share in the league's future growth. We've already said we won't accept that proposal they've given."
Several of your players are multimillionaires who aren't exposed to the physical rigors other athletes are. If the fans are going to start choosing sides, why should they support the players?

"We have some of the same issues now that so many individuals in this country experience. Of course, the difference is the pay scale. But the system we operate under is pay for performance. These players are the widgets. They're replaceable. They face competition for their jobs. They do endure injuries, their bodies take a toll. The back end of some of their lives will be difficult."
So, the players have saved money for a lockout fund?

"I haven't heard one guy yet say anything about their financial strain. They say they're prepared. Plus, we know the league has to return 8% of last year's salaries from an escrow fund for coming in lower than the [2010-11 salary] cap. That's another $26 million to the guys to help them if the paychecks don't start coming Nov. 16."

What role will NBA superstars like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James play as this moves forward?
"They've been deeply involved in the meetings we've had. I know Kobe is intimately involved in interfacing with colleagues and sharing in a pool of revenue to help the others get through this. Kobe has volunteered to do that in the event others need, he and others are prepared to loan money if necessary."

Now y'all know Vanessa Bryant is gonna have something to say about these "loans". But kudos to the fellas for helping their colleagues stand in solidarity..

I made a lot of mistakes in my life & they've come back to haunt me, but now I have the opportunity 2 talk to girls all over the world & to let them know that they should chose a better way & not follow in my footsteps. My coworker's ex hubby is a producer. When they were married back in the late 90s, he had done some work with Destiny's Child. He said DC was on tour with Next and some other folks, not important--and R.L. from Next tried to rape Letoya Luckett!! She said her hubby said pretty much RL forced himself on LeToya basically on some, "You know you want it" shit. And shortly thereafter Next was booted off the tour. LeToya refused to talk about it but I guess R.L. was caught in the act.

Ice Cube and John Singleton to Work on N.W.A. Biopic

0*John Singleton has proven to be a dynamic director and talent in the film industry.
In the last 10 years, he’s demonstrated versatility with movies like “2 Fast 2 Furious” and “Four Brothers.”

He’s got another project that will return him to his directing roots and bring a lot of his original audience back to their seats. The filmmaker revealed that he’s working on reuniting with Ice Cube for an N.W.A. biopic.
“I can’t talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A. story,” Singleton told The Playlist. “The script is really, really good, and so we’re just figuring it out. New Line really wants to make it.”
Others on board for the project include Andrea Berloff, S. Leigh Savidge, Alan Wenkus, Matt Alvarez, David Engel, Bill Strauss, and Tomica Wright.

The proposed title of the film? Yep, you guessed it, “Straight Outta Compton.”

Russell Simmons Plans To Buy Television Network

The proven businessman seeks to extend his reach and build a network that promotes real diversity.
Russell Simmons divulged on Monday that he has plans of venturing into the television industry. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Hip Hop mogul is looking into buying a television network that focuses on diversity. During an interview at a charity event in Hong Kong, Simmons said he believes that when networks claim "diversity," what they really mean is "segregation" and an exclusive focus on black culture. "Instead, there's all these cultures that should be more integrated properly…Instead of giving Paris Hilton a show, for example, you could do one with Amber Rose. You'd be better off. One is hot, the other is not."

In an effort to bring a Hollywood feel to network TV, he is currently working with Brian Grazer, producer behind the films 8 Mile and American Gangster, and Ron Howard who worked with Grazer on films like A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13.

Although an official announcement has not yet been issued, Simmons emphasized that he would definitely follow through with the business plan. "Now you've heard about it," he said. "It's going to happen."

ABC Family Cancels Raven Symone Show

Looks like we’ve got some bad news, Raven Symone’s show has been cancelled! ABC Family decided to make the move after Raven’s show State of Georgia didn’t attract many viewers. In the show, Raven plays an aspiring actress who tries to find success outside of the South.

It seems Raven has had a few shortcomings as of late, with her movie College Road Trip not doing too well, cancelling her “pajama party” stadium tour and not sellingmany albums. Raven started out on the Cosby Show and her show That’s So Raven is one of the Disney Channel’s longest running shows and still very popular.
No matter, I’m still rooting for Raven Symone. She’ll get her grounding and regain her throne real quick.

Jennifer Hudson's new film 'Winnie, about the life of Nelson Mandela's wife Winnie Mandela, was already mired in controversy after the real Winnie Mandela condemned the film because no one came to her for input .
Now, after its screening at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film's reviews are not showing much promise...

Starring Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard as Nelson and Winne Mandela, the film was screened at TIFF in an unfinished form, but a quick trip around the internet reveals that while Jennifer and Terrence's performances are being well received the storyline and flow of the film has been widely panned and the movie failed to get picked up for distribution after the festival.

The “A League of Their Own” actress introduced her new girlfriend, Michelle Rounds,at O’Donnell’s annual Rosie Theater Kids Gala in New York City.

"They met at a Starbucks a few months ago," an inside source told People. "They are adorable together and are very, very happy."

In other news, Rosie’s new talk program “The Rosie Show” will air on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network on October 10.

Boris Kodjoe Will Return In New Resident Evil Film

Actor Boris Kodjoe, who played Luther West in 2010′s ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife,’ has confirmed that he will reprise his role in the latest installment, ‘Resident Evil: Retribution.’
On his Twitted page, he announced,

“Ok, Resident Evil fans, Milla Jovovich and myself are up here in Toronto getting ready for RE5 More action than ever!!!”
He rejoins Milla Jovovich, Colin Salmon and Sienna Guillory for the franchise sequel (#5) that Paul W.S. Anderson will direct.
Kodjoe was recently added to the slasher film, ‘Nurse 3D,’ joining Neal McDonough,Nick Turturro, Paz De La Huerta, Katrina Bowden and Corbin Bleu. In 2010, he starred in the NBC spy series, ‘Undercovers.’

Mel B & Stephen Belafonte Show Off BABY MADISON In HELLO! Mag

Well isn't she lovely. New parents (who already have 3 older kids total--Phoenix (12), Angel (4), and Giselle) Mel & Stephen are clearly a proud mommy and daddy. They have their daughter Madison Brown on full display just weeks after she was born.
About Baby Madison, who was born at six pounds and two ounces, Mel gushed to the mag that she is 'so gorgeous and such a chilled baby'.
Mel says she "feels like she's finally done it right" when it comes to her family. The full interview with Mel is in this week's edition of Hello! magazine which is out now. Here's an excerpt:

'Ideally you want to have your loving partner who you've created this baby with by your side throughout everything, and in Angel and Phoenix's cases, that wasn't the set up.

'I had a rocky marriage with Phoenix's dad [dancer Jimmy Gulzar]. The relationship with Angel's dad, Eddie, was over halfway through the pregnancy, and I had to suck it up and get on with it.
'This time I've done it with my partner - someone to come to every prenatal appointment with me, to get excited by every scan - and it feels like I've finally done it right.

'When I was moaning to Stephen about my trapped nerve I was thinking, "I've never had anyone to complain to about these kinds of things".'
And about her labor that she says she laughed all the way through:
“Phoenix had one leg and Stephen the other... they were winding each other up. I was cracking up so much I didn’t need to push,” she says.

Mel and Stephen flew to Sydney over the weekend to snap the pics for the mag. And Mel is on the continent to film "X-Factor: Australia" which starts filming in 2 weeks.
