It’s Official: Al Sharpton to Host New MSNBC Show
*After several weeks in try-out mode, and being dissed by “real” journalists, Rev. Al Sharpton has been tapped to be a permanent host/newscaster on MSNBC weeknights. His program is called “PoliticsNation” and will air 6 p.m. Eastern time and it premieres next Monday.
For years, the civil rights activist has shared his opinion in politics along with leading coalitions against injustices. He calls it “a natural extension of my life work and growth.”
On the show, he’ll be leading discussions on the day’s top headlines, something like what he does on his nationally syndicated radio sow.
His new spot on television is actually a very significant step as it is one of the network’s prime hours that leads into other heavily watched shows. And this is nothing new for him.

In the past he has served as a guest host on different MSNBC programs.
“I’ve known Rev. Sharpton for over a decade and have tremendous respect for him,” said MSNBC president Phil Griffin. “I’m thrilled that he’s now reached a point in his career where he’s able to devote himself to hosting a nightly show.”
The AP points out, and it’s worth nothing, that last year Sharpton weighed in on behalf of the Philadelphia-based Comcast Corp. as the government scrutinized the company’s ultimately successful takeover of NBCUniversal. Sharpton, the head of the National Action Network civil rights group, was among minority representatives approached by Comcast executives for support. MSNBC is part of NBCUniversal.

WELL, LOOKY, LOOKY HERE QADDAFI & CONDALEEZA?
Bizarre: Rebels show off the album featuring former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, found in Colonel Gaddafi's residence, Bab Al Aziziya
A bizarre photograph album filled page to page with pictures of Condoleezza Rice has been found at the compound of Colonel Gaddafi.
As citizens ransacked the sprawling lair, for the first time discovering the extent of riches enjoyed by their bloodthirsty tyrant, a number of unusual items have been looted.
Perhaps the most surprising, however, was the album, filled with glossy pictures of America's former Secretary of State.
Colonel Gaddafi had previously hinted at a serious admiration for Mrs Rice.
In person: Gaddafi met Condoleezza Rice in 2008 and insisted on calling her 'leezza'Cosy: The pair met in Tripoli on September 5, 2008 - an occasion thought at the time to have signified reconciliation with the former enemy state
In an interview with Al-Jazeera television in 2007, where he hinted that then-President George W. Bush's top diplomat wielded considerable influence in the Arab world.
'I support my darling black African woman,' he said at the time. 'I admire and am very proud of the way she leans back and gives orders to the Arab leaders. ... Leezza, Leezza, Leezza. ... I love her very much. I admire her, and I'm proud of her, because she's a black woman of African origin.'

The following year, Gaddafi and Rice had an opportunity to meet when the secretary of state paid a historic visit to Libya - one that made steps toward normalising relations after the United States went decades without an ambassador in Tripoli.

She said during the trip that the U.S. 'doesn't have any permanent enemies.'
Gaddafi welcomed Rice in his home - one that President Ronald Reagan once ordered bombed in retaliation for Libya's attack on a German disco - for the traditional meal that ends the daylight fast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Once again, he repeatedly addressed Rice - known as 'Condi' to her friends - as 'Leezza'.
During the visit, he presented Rice with a diamond ring, a lute, a locket with an engraved likeness of himself inside and an inscribed edition of The Green Book, a personal political manifesto that explains his 'Third Universal Theory for a new democratic society'.
Together, the haul was worth $212,000.

Three years later, at Gaddafi's compound today, Libyan rebels found the photo book.
Rebels leafed through the album yesterday after finding it as they rummaged through Gadhafi's Bab al-Aziziya compound.
Rice did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the discovery of the photos. In Washington, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland was also asked about the album.
'I don't need to see the photos,' she said. 'But bizarre and creepy are good adjectives to describe much of Gadhafi's behavior. So (it) doesn't surprise me. It's deeply bizarre and deeply creepy, though, if it is as you described.'
Photographer Sergey Ponomarev was with the rebels as they looked through the album.
Taking a look round: This group of Tripoli residents could hardly believe their eyes when they entered Gaddafi's compound yesterday
'There were lots of rebels celebrating their victory,' Mr Ponomarev said. 'It was still unsafe - loyalists were shelling the compound from time to time - but rebels were celebrating the seizure of the Gadhafi compound. They believe the victory is in their hands. Some of them even brought their children to the scene.'
Looters were shocked at what they found at the compound.

One group of young men chose to tour Bab al-Aziziya in the dictator’s preferred mode of transport - the very same electric golf buggy he rode in to rest his 72-year-old legs.
Even as they made their way through the shattered buildings, they could see for themselves sufficient remnants of the bizarre Michael Jackson-style Neverland park, complete with fairground and zoo, that Gaddafi constructed in the heart of the capital city.

In one of his palaces, expensive murals and art work hung from the walls and rooms were filled with replica 14th century furniture.

Vast bathrooms with bidets and sunken baths adjoined most sleeping quarters.
At the centre of the compound is the ‘House of Resistance’, Gaddafi’s former residence which was partially destroyed by a U.S. bombing raid in 1986.

Now it is a mausoleum, its furniture preserved untouched for 25 years within glass casing as a reminder of the attack.
If there was any morsel of sympathy to be gleaned for Gaddafi, it was from the ghostly bedroom of his adopted daughter Hana, who was only a few months old when she was killed in the raid.
There also appeared to be a shrine in honour of the little girl – a set of missiles ‘hung’, perhaps inappropriately, from the ceiling as though just fired from American jets.

Not far from a cluster of buildings used by Gaddafi’s family as sleeping quarters was a cinema where he would join his family to watch the latest western movies.
The most outlandish sight in this whole bizarre fantasyland was the fairground in the gardens.
It featured an old-fashioned carousel, with children’s seats on chains, and a roundabout decked out with a cartoon-style teapot and spinning cups for youngsters to play in.
Astonishing: This teapot and teacups fairground ride was just one of sites that greeted insurgents inside Gaddafi's compound. They also found a zoo
Some rebels could not resist posing for pictures in the giant teacup rides and laughing with incredulity that the dictator had taken flight from his own compound.
But one could only stare in disbelief at this theme park within a warzone.
He snorted: ‘Libyan children have no childhood, their lives are destroyed by Gaddafi. But his children, his family, have everything.’

As if all this wasn’t enough, Gaddafi had also used some of the estimated £300billion he has plundered from the country to build a zoo, stocked with animals supplied by fellow African dictators.

Amid chaotic scenes, as snipers loyal to Gaddafi took pot shots at the looters from high buildings around the compound, people grabbed at anything they could get – sheets, bedding, curtains and whatever else was once owned by Gaddafi.

Kiss was featured on the latest leak off Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV on a song called "It's Good," also featuring Drake.
The song leaked online yesterday, causing a stir across the internet due to Weezy's a jab at Jay-Z, and as fans debated Jadakiss and Drake's stance on Wayne's verse, Jadakiss quickly denied any involvement saying:
While Jadakiss has moved himself from the conversation, it will be interesting to hear Jay-Z's response to this jab by Lil Wayne.

MISS LEDISI SPEAKS!

Ledisi
Four-time Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Ledisi (full name Ledisi Young) is set to embark on her first headlining North American tour, beginning Oct. 10 in Raleigh, N.C. Although the New Orleans native and "Leatherheads" actress is no stranger to life on the road, having featured alongside R&B crooner Kem earlier this year on his "Intimacy" tour, but preparing for her very own "Pieces of Me" tour has been a bit more of an undertaking, according to the songstress.

"I never worked with lights before, and I never had costume changes. So there's a lot of wonderful little surprises in the show that I don't want to truly give away," Ledisi told The Huffington Post earlier this week. "But it is different just coming up performing with the band. I'm still going to give every performance like it's my last; it's just going to have more imagery involved. And then just picking the songs, it's a longer set, so you have to pick songs from different parts of your career and also be current with what's going on with you now. So it's a big compromise in figuring out which songs to pick because everyone has their favorites. And I'm fairly a new artist compared to the mainstream, but I have a lot of albums out already."
This past June, in addition to releasing her latest album, Pieces of Me, Ledisi also scored her debut Top 10 hit on Billboard's Adult R&B chart with the album's title track. After spending 20 consecutive weeks on the charts, the ballad is currently at the 24 slot on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop charts, according to their site. The chart-topping album's follow-up single hasn't been officially announced yet, but in certain markets the Jaheim-assisted "Stay Together" has been in heavy rotation. But don't get too excited: The singer doesn't have any plans to shoot a video to accompany the track.
"I haven't heard 'Stay Together' on the radio, I've just seen it charting, so I guess it is," she explained. "I know I'm not shooting a video for 'Stay Together.' But I did shoot a video for another song that I'm not going to say. And I shot that video because I wanted to, not because 'Oh, we want another single and this, that and the other.' I just shot a video for a song that I love from the album ... (The record label) didn't know anything about it, I did it on my own. And then when they saw it, they loved it. So I don't know what's going to happen. I don't get into the singles thing, I just like shooting videos for stuff I like."
Having such a natural talent in front of the camera might lead one to expect Ledisi to release a live DVD of her musical performance, but she says it's not in the cards -- or at least not yet. "I just want people to come see me first before I put it out everywhere. There's nothing like experiencing it for yourself and being there," she explained. "But as far as recording a DVD and all of that, I don't have any qualms about not doing it. I want to do it when I’m ready, not just because the demand is there. (My fans) have been asking me to do that since 2000. But I'm going to do it, I just don't know when."

The "demand" among her fans extends to a lot of other things, not least of which is a pairing of Ms. Young with Ms. Patti LaBelle. In recent months, LaBelle has anointed the rising star as her successor, leaving fans eager and impatient for a collaboration. "I would love to work with Ms. Patti. Whenever she needs me, I'm there. And I'm sure if I called her and I needed her, she'll come through for me," Ledisi said."Nothing has been planned other than our performance that we did at the United Negro College Fund, and that was a fun time. And just to have her as a friend and a mentor is everything me. Whether it is about business or just being there on a personal level, she’s just an incredible lady. If it happens, then I’ll be ready, but nothing has been set in stone."
Another relationship that Ledisi cherishes is that with Ashford & Simpson. Following Nick Ashford's untimely death earlier this week, she took to Twitter to express her condolences for the fallen Motown icon. "Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson, they're legends. And they've created a body of work that's just timeless, and it's all expressed through their love for one another," she elaborated to HuffPost about her Tweet. "They taught us how to sustain love, how to love. I mean, it's just amazing that I had the opportunity to sit and talk and get to know them on a more personal level. And then to see how they support up-and-coming artists at their club, The Sugar Bar. It's just amazing. They've always stayed current and supported a lot of the younger artists and a lot of the younger writers.

"Just to have that small bond with them -- I'm really sad. I don't know what to say to him being gone. You're used to two and now there's only one. I don't know what to say. This woman lost her husband and best friend. So it's a sad time and I'm going to be praying for them. But their music and their love for each other will always live in the songs."
Outside of prepping for her North American tour, the Verve Forecast artist is also preparing a foray into the literary world. Though she's still in the beginning stages, the singer feels that her new book project lends itself to "different kind of voices."
"I won’t deliver too much information about the book that I'm writing, which is really awesome. It's a different voice," Ledisi hinted. "It's not too far from songwriting, but it's still is a different kind of voice to have, and I've never done it before in public. So it's going to be different for me. I don't want to talk about it until it's done, edited and out there getting ready to go."

OH HELLS NO: Sheryl Underwood & Kris Jenner IN - Leah Remini & Holly Robinson OUT At CBS' "The Talk"
Comedienne Sheryl Underwood just landed her most high profile gig yet as she's been selected to co-host "The Talk" when it returns to tv on Sept 6. Get the deets on the new gig inside and find out what reality show MOMager......
There are big changes in store for the CBS chat fest "The Talk" which recently fired industry vets Leah Remini and Holly Robinson (though the politically correct thing to say is their contracts were not renewed).

The show is making room for reality tv mom Kris Jenner and comedienne and Steve Harvey radio show regular who also has "The Sheryl Underwood Show" on Sirius, Sheryl Underwood. Not feelin' this ish. Now publicity hungry Kris has another hour long platform to simply (and only) push her and her daughter's products and shows. Let's keep it real--that's all Kris is looking for.
Kris is being brought on to fill in for Sharon Osbourne who is taking time of to be with her husband Ozzy (and possibly also being looked at to fill Leah's role) for 2 weeks, while Sheryl is coming on as a "fill-in" with the option to become a permanent co-host.

While the search is still on for permanent hosts, Sheryl and Kris will join Julie Chen and Sara Gilbert on Sept. 6 for the debut of season 2.
SMH.....not happy about this at all! Holly brought a certain level of style and class a Hollywood chick should to the panel. But, once again, the powers that be seem threatened by a beautiful black woman who actually cares about her appearance, is not there simply to entertain the crowd and have them laugh with/at her, and has decades of experience and talent in this game. I guess we should say hooray simply because a black woman is on tv even if I was never a fan of her talents. But I can't hold my tongue completely since I'm feeling some kind of way about this.

Another interesting point is that "The Talk," unlike "The View," makes their main focus (and differentiating quality) on families--with the co-hosts themselves making their marriage and kids a focal point of the show. Anyone else find it interesting the ONE person on the panel that will be unmarried with no kids is the black republican female Sheryl who praises Bush and downs President Obama quite often? Holly is almost the exact opposite--married for almost 2 decades and has 5 kids and praises President Obama? Y'all know I'm a big proponent of not only blacks BEING on tv, but how black women are portrayed on national tv. And the message it sends to the world. And I, for one, am getting tired of the transparent motives. Just sayin'....

Mark Jackson, Jamie Foxx Linked to Alleged Drug Kingpin
*New Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson, actor Jamie Foxx and an assortment of other celebs are reportedly associated with a man recently arrested in a five-state Drug Enforcement Agency sting of an international drug cartel, Star magazine reports.
Warren Braithwaite was allegedly part of the cartel that distributed thousands of pounds of marijuana internationally. He’s also an usher in the True Love Worship Center International in Van Nuys, Calif., the ministry of Jackson and his wife, according to the report.
The Warriors declined to comment, but Jackson told Star he has “not seen one piece of evidence that Brother Warren is the person police say he is. Our prayers, thoughts and love are for Warren and his family.”
Braithwaite, meanwhile, is reportedly a friend and business associate of Foxx, Star reports. Just 12 days before he was arrested, attended a charity event to honor actor Foxx and NBA legend Magic Johnson, the report says.
Kevin Mucthison, Braithwaite’s alleged partner who goes by the name Sincere, collaborated with Lady Gaga on the performer’s Heartbeats by Lady Gaga headphones. Mucthison is also working on a headphone project with Foxx, according to Star.
The Warriors hired Jackson in June; it is his first NBA coaching gig. He spent 17 seasons in the league as a point guard, finishing third in career assists. He was rookie of the year in 1988. Jackson played for the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.

OVERTHRONED??? JAY-Z & KANYE WEST ACCUSED OF COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT ON ‘WATCH THE THRONE’
There’s about to be a big mess going on over at Def Jam, considering a post that has popped up on publisher, Numero Uno Group’s blog, citing that Jay-Z and Kanye West, who as a unite, call themselves ‘The Throne,’ are guilty of copyright infringement on their joint venture, Watch the Throne.
Apparently, R&B/soul singer Syl Johnson (who also father of singer/songwriter Syleena Johnson) is considering a lawsuit against the two for an uncleared sample of one of his songs on their album. A sample of Johnson’s 1967 song “Different Strokes,” which appears on the track “The Joy,” was allegedly never properly cleared.
According to the publisher’s blog, Kanye originally used the sample on during his G.O.O.D. Friday promotion, where he released a new track every Friday, leading up to his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. The track was supposedly supposed to appear on a deluxe edition of West’s album, but that never came to pass:
“After a little negotiating, we came to a price and a verbal agreement (one that is completely standard). Paperwork to confirm all of this was to arrive for counter signature. Weeks passed. Then months. No deluxe version appeared in the market place, and our emails and phone calls to Def Jam’s business affairs department went unanswered. We spent the better part of five months trying to get paid, and finally handed it to our lawyer who recommended not pursuing legal action as the song wasn’t actually being sold.
Syl could have filed a more complex suit involving the use of his voice to promote the #1 album, but decided against it. Eventually, Kanye was going to want to clear some other part of our catalog, and we’d get Syl his money with leverage. With only a non-binding email to solidify the terms, we began the arduous process of having the song removed from money making channels like YouTube, for which Syl was seeing nothing. We thought the song was dead and moved on. It happens all the time.”
However, this week, Syl called the Numero Uno Publish Group, “nearly in tears,” asking if we knew why they appeared in the credits to the album.
“We had no idea. The credits misidentify Numero as the publisher of the sampled song (“Different Strokes”), which of course we are not, and any routine search of the BMI database would show otherwise.
Wondering why we weren’t consulted on this new use, and baffled why we appear in the credits, for which we never asked, we contacted the sample clearance house. Even they cannot get a response from their own clients. Island Def Jam seems to think that Syl doesn’t have any fight left in him. We’re betting otherwise.“
As we reported earlier, Kanye West and Jay-Z sold an additional 176,832 units last week, keeping Watch the Throne at it’s #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 200 chart. To date, the album has sold 612,911 copies, with 62% of the sales from digital purchases (the album was sold exclusively on iTunes for a short period).

Miami News reveals these eye-brow raising texts asking her where he could "cum":Westling: I feel bad we lost contact. Hope you are well. I live in LA now so hit me up if you ever come out there
-dominica
Shaq: O my god were r u can i have u bak i miss u to whts yur number pls baby i want u bak do u love me
Dominica: Yes I wanna see you, you know I can never forget about you. My number is [redacted by us]
[Twenty-three days later, Dominica sends Shaq an email with only the subject line "Muuaaahhh" and a photo that, judging by his reaction, didn't depict a tray of freshly baked cookies.]
Shaq: Where can I cum at when I c uDominica: All over me, where do you wanna cum?
Shaq: In u foreva
Dominica: I miss that
Was that supposed to turn a bish on? Damn. No effort Shaq. At all.

Oh, but there's more. Newsweek writer and author Allison Samuels allegedly tried to hook Shaq up with some of her celeb friends--while he was still married a well. Ms. Samuels offered up contact info for model Sesilee Lopez, Rihanna, Lauren London (who Shaq outs D-Wade about when he was still married to Siohvaughn and dating Gabby Union by saying HE'S hooking up with her...HMMMM...), and others. Peep the leaked emails from 2008, after Allison met Shaq while covering a Lakers game:

Samuels: Hi. Sesslielopez@gmail.com [FYI, the email address bounces back]. Or I can give her your info? She's not in the country until Wed so maybe then is better because she hasn't answered me about something else I asked her about. Also she asked about your personal life and I told her_whatever it is_-I'm sure you had it under control. Still waiting on Robinne's response.

Shaq: Sesslie aintdat fine whts robins last name

Samuels: You are so wrong! Robinne Lee_she's on Tyler Perry's show sometimes. Do you know Lauren London_I don't_but I know James Lassiter knows how to reach her. You ever dealt with her_is she cool? Sharon Leal??
Shaq: Loren is d wade's girl im not wrong sesslie aint my type u r

Samuels: What about Gabrielle and Dwyane?
Shaq: He gottem all I want u or rihanna

Samuels: Rihanna is too young_19-- she is just legal and you know I'm very chatty and you said you didn't like that!!!!
Shaq: Yeah but I told u had a crush on me and u wouldn't chat about us i kn o u

Samuels: No_I'm chatty in a relationship_not to others. You just decided I had a crush on you huh?? When did you decide that?
