Alek Wek By Dean Isidro Delivers Us To B New York's Beauty Of Conscious Living!

Top model Alek Wek wears key pieces from b new york’s Fall 2020 collection, lensed by Dean Isidro. The name ‘b new york’ was not embedded in AOC’s brain, so off we went to investigate. It was a trip worth taking. / Hair by Dennis Lanni; makeup by Ren Nobuko, set design Shari Anlauf

The clothes are ‘affordable’ and I use the term loosely. Tops are priced at $90 to $180. A recycled wrap jacket is $180, and an oversized recycled anorak is $220. The clothes are generous cuts with plenty of drape. Everything is identified as sustainable or recycled. Bottom line, the shopping is easy.

#RHOA #TWIRL: Kenya Moore Shares What She's Eating During Her "Weight Loss Transformation"!

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member showed exactly what she eats for a "healthy dinner."

Back in September, Kenya Moore opened up about a common side effect of self-isolation — and she wasn't shy about it. Striking a pose in a curve-clinging coral dress, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member wrote on Instagram: "183 lbs!!! The Quarantine has added 25lbs to my 5’10” frame." She added: "I don't mind if you don't mind." (And, nope: We don't mind at all.)

Even so, Kenya is taking a new approach to her wellness routine. She recently announced that she's embarked on a 12-week body "transformation," which includes a low-calorie diet. And in a detailed Instagram Story, the haircare mogul shared what dinner looks like for her now.

Showing off her meal, Kenya wrote: "Healthy dinner ... everything fits on a [appetizer] plate." She explained that the dish held four ounces of baked fish, collard greens, baked complex carbs, and a "pinch of macaroni and cheese" that she considered a treat. "That's my dessert," she shared.

Kenya's not the only RHOA cast member who's opened up about weight gain during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kandi Burruss has said that she put on 20 pounds over the past several months, while a weigh-in from April made Marlo Hampton write "f--- rona."

#MusicNews: Rick James’ Wild Life is Finally Being Flipped into a Biographical TV Series!

Super Freak will chart the unhinged highs and subterranean lows of a funk icon.

An upcoming limited series from Universal Studio Group will attempt to make some sense out of the impossibly controversial life of the late Rick James.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, USG has announced Super Freak, a series the studio describes as “a funkadelic mix of music biopic and true crime,” charting the funk icon’s rise through the 1960s and 1970s, before finally breaking out as a bonafide star in the 1980s. The series will also reportedly cover James’ attempt at a comeback in the early 1990s while standing trial for kidnapping and assault, as well as battling a crack addiction outside of the court system.

James’ daughter, Ty James has signed on to executive produce the treatment, which is being written and directed by Randy McKinnon. “We are truly ecstatic about this new project with UCP and extremely excited to work with the writer Randy McKinnon,” says Ty James in a statement. “We are confident he can give the fans exactly what they have been waiting on, plus some. This will be a magic carpet ride, with ups and downs, joys and pain,” she adds.

It’s unclear what James and McKinnon will use as source material for the series. The autobiography Confessions of Rick James: Memoir of a Super Freak was published in 2007, holding some wild and wholly unhinged tales from the man himself. Another biography, Glow, was released in 2015 with the assistance of editor David Ritz, who is also attached to the TV series as an executive producer. With Ritz’s involvement, it seems likely they’ll use the latter, but both are more than worth the time.

A release window has yet to be announced. Hold tight for updates in the weeks and months ahead.

#HipHopNews: Young Thug Addresses His Jay-Z Comments: 'I Was Talking Too Fast'!

Young Thug took to Instagram to address the widely discussed comments he made about Jay-Z during his appearance on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast.

"Don't have Jay-Z on me cause of this internet shit," Thug wrote on Tuesday night. "I was talking to [sic] fast but y'all know what I meant."

While chatting with with Gillie Da King and Wallo267 on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Thug curiously asserted that Jay-Z doesn't have 30 stadium anthems but that he himself has upwards of 40. [...] anthems, we talking about songs they know... Like, when I perform, I got 30-40 songs that the whole stadium gonna know," Thug said before adding, "Jay-Z ain't got 30 songs like that... the whole stadium finna sing."

In his defense, Thug did quickly back track on the comments soon after making them when it was pointed out that the 4:44 rapper has plenty of hits.

"I'm just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them bitches," Thug said in response. "I'm not just literally saying him. I'm saying n**gas who you thinking..."

Unsurprisingly, Thug seeming to suggest he has more hits that Jay-Z didn't sit well with many people online.

#CONDOLENCES: Marc Lamont Hill’s Sister Dies Day After Burying Their Father: He Says “This Is The Cruelest Year That I’ve Ever Experienced”!

TV personality and activist Marc Lamont Hill is in deep mourning after losing both his father and sister back to back. The 42-year-old shared the news on Twitter on Wednesday (Dec. 30).

“My sister died this morning,” he wrote. “We just buried our father yesterday. This is the cruelest year that I’ve ever experienced.”

It’s unclear what caused his sister’s death, but Hill shared on social media that his father had been sick earlier in the year. Back in March, he said his father was hospitalized with no visitors allowed for weeks.

“My 92 year old father is gravely ill and has spent the last 3 weeks in the hospital. He cannot be visited because of Carona [sic]. He is alone,” he wrote. “He was just discharged to his nursing home facility that it [sic] also locked down. We just have to keep calling and praying he’s ok. This is tough.”

On December 11, he shared the news that his father passed.

“My father passed away early this morning. 92 years old,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m grateful that I got to see his face yesterday and make him laugh one last time. Although I’ve lost a great deal of my joy, I’m trying to find comfort in the fact that he has lost all of his pain. Rest Well, Dad.”

On top of the obvious stress and sadness of living through the COVID-19 pandemic this year and dealing with his dad’s sickness and isolation, before all that occurred, Hill was already grieving.

Since sharing the news about the losses in his family, many have offered their thoughts and condolences with Hill, so much so that his name started trending on Twitter. The chances of that bringing comfort during this difficult time are little. Still, as he revealed the information with his followers and the Twittersphere, he’s likely appreciative of the messages and support.

Legendary Eastside HS Principal Joe Clark, who inspired film ‘Lean on Me,’ DIES at 82!

Joe Louis Clark, the baseball bat and bullhorn-wielding principal whose unwavering commitment to his students and uncompromising disciplinary methods inspired the 1989 film “Lean on Me,” died at his Florida home on Tuesday after a long battle with an unspecified illness, his family said. He was 82.

At crime- and drug-ridden Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey, Clark expelled 300 students in a single day for fighting, vandalism, abusing teachers and drug possession. That lifted the expectations of those who remained, continually challenging them to perform better. Clark’s unorthodox methods, which included roaming the hallways with a bullhorn and a baseball bat, won him both admirers and critics nationwide. President Ronald Reagan offered Clark a White House policy adviser position after his success at the high school.

Morgan Freeman starred as Clark in the 1989 film “Lean on Me” that was loosely based on Clark’s tenure at Eastside.

“Joe was a father figure to school kids,” Freeman said in a statement Wednesday. “He was the best of the best in terms of education.”

After he retired from Eastside in 1989, Clark worked for six years as the director of Essex County Detention House, a juvenile detention center in Newark. He also wrote “Laying Down the Law: Joe Clark’s Strategy for Saving Our Schools,” detailing his methods for turning around Eastside High.

Clark’s teaching career started at a Paterson grade school in Passaic County, New Jersey, before he became principal of PS 6 Grammar School.

Clark was born in Rochelle, Georgia, on May 8, 1938. His family moved north to Newark, New Jersey, when he was 6 years old. After graduating from Newark Central High School, Clark received his bachelor’s degree from William Paterson College (now William Paterson University), a master’s degree from Seton Hall University, and an honorary doctorate from the U.S. Sports Academy. Clark also served as a U.S. Army Reserve sergeant and a drill instructor.

Clark is survived by his children, Joetta, Hazel and JJ, and grandchildren, Talitha, Jorell and Hazel. His wife, Gloria, preceded him in death.

‘Creed 3’ Will Be Directed by Star Michael B. Jordan, Confirms Tessa Thompson!

In October of this year, word broke that Creed franchise star Michael B. Jordan might end up directing Creed III. Now, Jordan’s Creed co-star Tessa Thompson has confirmed just that, revealing in an interview that Jordan is indeed set to direct the eventual sequel. This would mark Jordan’s directorial debut, and would also follow precedent since Rocky star Sylvester Stallone went on to direct several Rocky sequels.

In his book A Life in Movies: Stories From 50 Years in Hollywood, Rocky and Creed producer Irwin Winkler revealed that star Michael B. Jordan could be stepping behind the camera for another Creed film. “I promised Michael B. Jordan that he’d get his chance to direct Creed III,” Winkler wrote in an excerpt that surfaced in October 2020. “Last year in a conversation with our Creed star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct Creed III.”

Now, as 2020 comes to a close, we have confirmation on that from another source close to the production: Tessa Thompson. In a video interview promoting her latest film Sylvie’s Love, Thompson was asked if Jordan would be helming Creed III, to which she replied yes while poking good-natured fun at Jordan’s recent coronation as People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2020.

And unless Jordan has a top-secret directorial project he’s going to helm first, that would make Creed III his directorial debut. And in some ways, he’s following tradition. Creed is a spin-off of the Rocky franchise, and Rocky and Creed star Sylvester Stallone ended up directing several Rocky sequels – Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky Balboa.

Beyond Jordan becoming director and returning as star, we don’t know a whole lot about Creed III. At one point, Stallone said he wanted to bring in the son of Clubber Lang, the villain from Rocky III played by Mr. T, for Jordan’s Adonis Creed to fight. There were also reports that the Rocky franchise might start back up again separate from Creed, with Stallone’s Rocky mentoring another young fighter. But we haven’t heard much about that since 2019.

Alexander Wang Is Facing Accusations of Sexual Assault!

Designer Alexander Wang, known for his over-the-top parties during Fashion Week and dressing models such as Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, and Ashley Graham, is being accused of sexual assault. Several survivors, including model Owen Mooney, shared their stories on social media, with various fashion accounts, such as DietPrada, spreading news of the allegations to their followers.

Mooney explained an incident with Wang at a New York City club. Mooney claims he was groped by Wang, and ShitModelMangement shared his account. HighSnobiety reports that Mooney's story shares parallels with several others and that other survivors have come forward with similar tales. Those anonymous reports include Wang drugging individuals with water laced with MDMA, coercing them to attend after-parties, and making unwanted sexual advances. SMM has shared a lengthy Twitter thread collecting such allegations.

In 2019, rapper Azealia Banks shared anonymous allegations against Wang on her Instagram Stories. While the posts have since disappeared, they chronicled similar experiences to those coming to light now. Twitter users screencapped the posts and they're still available to view on the platform and go back several years. Mooney's story goes back to 2017.

"This is why people are worried to share their stories of sexual predators," he captioned one of his posts after a commenter accused him of seeking attention.

DietPrada also adds that Wang enlisted now-disgraced rapper R. Kelly to model for his Spring/Summer 2017 campaign. At the time, there were multiple allegations against the musician.

Wang, via a representative for the brand, declined to comment on this developing story.

If you have experienced sexual violence and are in need of crisis support, please call the RAINN Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673).

Apple is reportedly in talks with singer Mariah Carey to make a 2021 follow-up to her "Magical Christmas Special," which premiered on Apple TV+ earlier this month.

According to The Sun, the festive show cost £4 million ($5.4 million) and went to number one in Apple's charts in over 100 countries, and was such a "runaway hit" that Apple executives now want to secure her for another special show next Christmas, but this time with an "unlimited" budget.

"They spent over £4million on this year's show but next year this could go even higher. Apple know the worth of Mariah and are willing to splash the cash to make a follow-up even bigger and better."

"Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special" aired on ‌Apple TV+‌ just after the 25th anniversary of Carey's iconic holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas is You." The show combines music, dancing, and animation to create a "universally heartwarming story" that's supposed to bring the world together.

Carey served as an executive producer on the special along with production company Done + Dusted, best known for "The Disney Family Singalong" and "The Little Mermaid Live."

Lamar Odom Claims Ex Sabrina Parr Is Holding His Social Media Hostage!

Things are getting messy for Lamar Odom and his ex-fiancée Sabrina Parr.

Odom took to Instagram on Wednesday to accuse Parr of holding his social media accounts hostage, which Parr — also on Instagram — claims comes down to, essentially, Odom’s inability to navigate social media.

Odom, who last we heard was back together with Parr following a brief breakup, posted on Instagram that “my social media platforms are being held hostage by my ex and we are working hard to recover my passwords for IG and Twitter.”

“Sabrina stop,” he continued — presumably in reference to Parr’s rebuttals — “You have hacked my social media every few months. Your receipts are no good that’s from a year ago. I’ve recently begged you to release my password. I can only post using the phone you set up — you don’t want me to expose you. So stop. Give me my password and my passport.”

“No love lost BabyDoll but it’s over,” Odom, 41, wrote as a caption, adding, “You’ve wronged me in so many ways and I was willing to walk away quietly but I see you want a show. I gave you a global platform. Use it for your good or it will destroy you. All the best ❤️

Meanwhile, over at Parr’s page, the 33-year-old wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story, “I find these accusations from Lamar & whoever he’s working with extremely disappointing. We are no longer together and haven’t been for a while. I’ve [chosen] to move in silence about the situation & I suggest you do the same. We both know the truth and I can assure you no truth is being told on their end.

“Now if you excuse me, I’m going to continue moving on in peace & silence.”

Parr also posted — and then deleted — screenshots of alleged emails with Odom’s team showing conversations she had with them about attempting to reset Odom’s access to his social media accounts — though, as the former NBA star claims, they are from Jan. 2, 2020.

A separate screengrab appeared to show that two-step verification had been enabled on Odom’s account, which seems to suggest that Parr is locked out.

Parr also included an old text thread between the two, allegedly from about a month ago, where she exasperatedly tells him, “I don’t have your passwords. You can reset it! I’m trying to show you how!!!!”

If this all sounds very confusing, that’s because it is.

The on-again, off-again couple called off their engagement in November, announcing the news, unsurprisingly, on social media. One week later, they went on a trip to celebrate the one-year anniversary of getting engaged. Parr confirmed they had reconciled on Nov. 30, writing to a fan, “clearly we are back together.”

Awkwafina Covers Vogue Australia Magazine!

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star Awkwafina covers the latest issue of Vogue Australia magazine photographed by Charles Dennington and styled by Philippa Moroney.

Awkwafina has been living in Sydney since July, while she films Marvel’s first Asian superhero movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. “I’ve been here for so long, I’m Australian,” she jokes in the cover story. “I literally asked my friend the other day: ‘You’re veggo, right?’ Because y’all add Os to everything.” Her favourite local dishes? “Sausage rolls and meat pies.”

In the cover story, Awkwafina reveals that Lucy Liu was a big inspiration to her growing up. “When you’re young and you turn on the TV and don’t see kids that look like you, then by default you take the perspective of an outsider,” she explains. “Without [representation], you’re literally sitting there playing imaginary friends.” She adds: “It’s different than just being the Asian front girl, in a group of girls, with no development, no substance,” she explains. “You want to be able to tell those stories, and tell them authentically. That’s representation.”

#RHOA: Are they or Aren’t they? Porsha Williams & Ex-Fiancé Dennis Hugged Up In Cozy Family Photos!

Porsha Williams is making it clear that it’s all about family — especially during the holidays. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star recently uploaded a photo of her family together for the holidays, sparking rumors that she and her estranged fiancé, Dennis McKinley, are back together.

On Monday (Dec. 29), Porsha Williams posted a slideshow of photos, including a family photo of herself, Dennis, their 1-year-old daughter, PJ, Porsha‘s mom, Ms. Diane, her man, and Dennis‘s mom, Gina. In the photo, the family is grouped together on a staircase in matching Christmas outfits.

While some fans gushed about the beautiful family portrait, most fans zoomed in on Porsha and Dennis‘s body language in the photos. In the next two photos — one with Porsha and Dennis sharing a couples moment with Ms. Diane and her man, and a solo photo with just Porsha and Dennis — Porsha and her ex-fiancé look pretty cozy.

A few of Porsha‘s celebrity fans commented under her slideshow, gushing about the family photos. “Love it😍” wrote Porsha‘s bestie and friend of RHOA, Shamea Morton. Porsha‘s partner-in-activism, Yandy Smith, showed her love with a slew of emojis, commenting, “🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.” RHOA newbie, Drew Sidora, commented, “Super cute❤️.”

Fans flocked to Porsha’s comment section, hoping that the photos mean a rekindling between Porsha and Dennis is near.

“Yes Dennis get ur family back together 💪🏽

“Sis you and Dennis better figure this out….figure it out… get married…. hurry up and have PJ #2…. stop playing”

“Yay!!! Porsche and Dennis. Whatever this is! I love to see smiling faces! Pure happiness.”

“Family unity and love (not a divide) that’s all that matters ALWAYS. ♥️🎄#ilovetoseeit”

“they clearly still love each other! I actually want them together ♥️”

Though most Porsha fans are hopeful, there are a few that want the reality star to tread lightly when it comes to rekindling with Dennis. “I’m just wondering when is the next break up because we know it’s coming or you gone keep throwing the “it’s for the family” caption out there?” one fan wrote. “Girl how you supposed to move on when you taking pictures like this 🤦🏾‍♀️” another fan questioned.

Fans have a right to be leery. After months and months of being on-again-off-again, Porsha admitted to calling off her wedding with Dennis and officially breaking up with him. Remember in September, a fan nudged Porsha to spill about her romantic status with Dennis on Instagram.

“Wedding plans soon?” asked the follower, to which Porsha answered, “no.”

The clarification comes amid breakup rumors which sparked in August after the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram. At the time, Porsha also scrubbed most of the images of Dennis from her Instagram account.

The sentiment is one that most will find assurance in, especially with the trials and tribulations that this year has put us all through and the struggles that stand on the horizon in the new year. It also shows that the 41-year-old has the ability to switch it up on us and shirk the expectations we've placed on her in the more than 20 years since her career began.

Gibson is also the father of 13-year-old daughter Shayla Gibson from a previous marriage to Norma Gibson.

Selena Gomez Slams Facebook For Letting Disinformation About Vaccines Go Unchecked!

Selena Gomez is a pop star who is rare in more ways than one. Tonight, the young singer took to Twitter to criticize Facebook for the rampant disinformation that exists on the platform.

In particular, she’s concerned about the lies and false information that are being spread about vaccines, just as the COVID-19 vaccine is beginning to get distribution in the United States. “Scientific disinformation has and will cost lives,” she wrote in a tweet. “@Facebook said they don’t allow lies about COVID and vaccines to be spread on their platforms. So how come all of this is still happening? Facebook is going to be responsible for thousands of deaths if they don’t take action now!”

Below her comments, Selena shared the following tweet from the Center For Countering Digital Hate, whose CEO, Imran Ahmed, was on BBC News talking about this issue.

“We took a thousand bits of misinformation and got volunteers to report it using the platform’s own reporting systems,” Ahmed said on BBC. “And less than 5% of it was taken down. The truth is we’ve been gaslit by the social media companies, they say they’re doing their utmost. But in reality, they’re doing absolutely nothing.”

Diddy's generosity has, once again, made headlines.About a week after gifting his mother with a new Bentley and a $1 million check, the hip-hop mogul announced he would provide financial relief for Miami families struggling amid the pandemic. According to Page Six, Diddy's Sean Combs Foundation is giving a grant to an organization that will help 175 households pay their rent throughout the health crisis.

But that's not all. On the same day Diddy announced the grant, he visited Miami's Overtown neighborhood to bless community members with $50 Publix gift cards as well as bags with essential hygiene products. Page Six reports the project was a collaborative effort between Diddy's nonprofit, Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success (T.E.E.S.),  Michael Gardner and Headliner Market Group, as well as Miami Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon.

Video shows Diddy and his team on streets with face coverings, handing out cash to the public. According to the Miami Herald, the giveaway was strictly for Overtown residents; everyone who received card was required to provide proof of residency.

Justice Department declines to file charges against officers in deadly shooting of Tamir Rice!

The U.S. Department of Justice closed its independent investigation into the deadly shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.

The Justice Department said it found insufficient evidence to support federal criminal charges against Cleveland Division of Police Officers Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback. Rice’s family was notified of the decision on Monday.

Court upholds firing of Cleveland police officer who shot Tamir Rice

“Although Tamir Rice’s death is tragic, the evidence does not meet these substantial evidentiary requirements.  In light of this, and for the reasons explained below, career federal prosecutors with both the Civil Rights Division and the U.S.  Attorney’s Office concluded that this matter is not a prosecutable violation of the federal statutes,” the DOJ said in a news release on Tuesday.

The DOJ said video of the incident is time-lapsed, grainy and doesn’t have audio so Rice’s hands are not visible at relevant times. Federal investigators also said Loehmann and Garmback gave several statements and consistently repeated main points.

Rice was shot and killed at Cudell Recreation Center on West Boulevard in Cleveland on Nov. 22, 2014 after a person called 911 reporting seeing a person with a gun. The caller said the individual was, “probably a juvenile” and the gun was, “probably fake.” That information was not passed along to the officers, according to the investigation.

Police said Loehmann opened fire when he said the boy reached towards his waistband. The gun turned out to be an airsoft pistol.

Loehmann was fired from the Cleveland Division of Police in 2017 for lying on his police application, not the deadly shooting. His termination, though appealed, was upheld by the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

The Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association said it is still fighting to get him his job back.

When asked for a statement from the Rice family, the Chandra law firm referred us to a letter from November. It called on then-U.S. Attorney General William Barr for answers.

Aaliyah's music is finally coming to YouTube, or at least that's the way it sounds.

The late R&B icon's estate recently announced that they've gained control of her official YouTube channel, which might indicate high-quality uploads of her big hits in the new year. "Thank you for all of your love and support. We are proud to announce that the Estate is now in control of the 'Aaliyah' YouTube account,” read a message on her official Instagram page. As of now, AaliyahMusicVideo has almost 800,000 subscribers and features low res versions of her clips for "One in a Million, "Try Again," "4 Page Letter," among others.

Elsewhere in the message, the estate hinted at even more projects to celebrate the fallen superstar's legacy, writing, "2021 will [be] the year of Aaliyah! See you all in the new year!"

On the 19-year anniversary of her untimely death in August, the estate took to Twitter to reveal that her music is indeed coming to streaming services "in the near future." "To our loyal fans: We are excited to announce that communication has commenced between the estate and various record labels about the status of Aaliyah’s music catalogue, as well as its availability on streaming platforms in the near future," a message from the official Twitter account for the fallen singer read.

Louisiana Congressman-elect Luke Letlow dead from COVID-19!

Luke Letlow, Louisiana’s incoming Republican member of the U.S. House, died Tuesday night from complications related to COVID-19 only days before he would have been sworn into office. He was 41.

Letlow spokesman Andrew Bautsch confirmed the congressman-elect’s death at Ochsner-LSU Health Shreveport.

“The family appreciates the numerous prayers and support over the past days but asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” Bautsch said in a statement. “A statement from the family along with funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.”

Louisiana’s eight-member congressional delegation called Letlow’s death devastating.

“Luke had such a positive spirit, and a tremendously bright future ahead of him. He was looking forward to serving the people of Louisiana in Congress, and we were excited to welcome him to our delegation where he was ready to make an even greater impact on our state and our nation,” they said in a statement.

The state’s newest congressman, set to take office in January, was admitted to a Monroe hospital on Dec. 19 after testing positive for the coronavirus disease. He was later transferred to the Shreveport facility and placed in intensive care.

Dr. G.E. Ghali, of LSU Health Shreveport, told The Advocate that Letlow didn’t have any underlying health conditions that would have placed him at greater risk to COVID-19.

Letlow, from the small town of Start in Richland Parish, was elected in a December runoff election for the sprawling 5th District U.S. House seat representing central and northeastern regions of the state, including the cities of Monroe and Alexandria.

He was to fill the seat being vacated by his boss, Republican Ralph Abraham. Letlow had been Abraham’s chief of staff and ran with Abraham’s backing for the job.

Gov. John Bel Edwards urged people to pray for Letlow’s family.

“COVID-19 has taken Congressman-elect Letlow from us far too soon,” the Democratic governor said in a statement. “I am heartbroken that he will not be able to serve our people as a U.S. representative, but I am even more devastated for his loving family.”

Letlow is survived by his wife, Julia Barnhill Letlow, and two children.

U.S. House leaders offered their condolences Tuesday night.

“May it be a comfort to Luke’s wife Julia and their children Jeremiah and Jacqueline that so many mourn their loss and are praying for them at this sad time,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said: “Our hearts break tonight as we process the news of Congressman-elect Luke Letlow’s passing.”

Before working for Abraham, Letlow had worked for former Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration. Jindal’s one-time chief of staff, Timmy Teepell, described Letlow on Twitter as “a good man with a kind heart and a passion to serve. He loved Louisiana and his family. He was a brother and I’m heart broken he’s gone.”

Letlow is one of more than 7,000 people in Louisiana who have died from COVID-19 since March, according to data from the state health department.

When he announced his positive test for COVID-19, Letlow joined a list of Louisiana officials who have contracted the coronavirus since the pandemic began, including U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, Attorney General Jeff Landry, Treasurer John Schroder, U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson and U.S. Rep. Cedric Richmond.

Cassidy, a Republican and doctor who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year and has since recovered, posted in a Twitter video: “It just, just, just, just brings home COVID can kill. For most folks it doesn’t, but it truly can. So, as you remember Luke, his widow, his children in your prayers, remember as well to be careful with COVID.”

Logan Paul Facing Lawsuit Over Controversial 'Suicide Forest' Video!

Two years after sharing his controversial “suicide forest” video, Logan Paul is reportedly being sued by a production company that is claiming it lost millions after he posted the offensive and graphic video.

The production company Planeless Pictures filed a new lawsuit against the infamous YouTuber to recoup millions they lost after a movie starring Paul fell through following the 2018 controversy.

According to TMZ, the movie titled Airplane Mode was intended to be a comedy where Paul plays a fictionalized version of himself. The film was set to have Logan star alongside other huge influencers including his brother Jake Paul, Juanpa Zureta, Nick Bateman, Amanda Cerny, and others. All those plans allegedly fell through after Logan faced major backlash for the tasteless video where he showed the dead body of a man who died of suicide by hanging himself in Aokigahara, Japan.

Planeless Pictures reportedly signed a licensing deal with Google for the flick to the tune of $3 million, losing it all following Paul’s careless actions. The company planned to roll out the movie on YouTube via each influencer’s page, potentially creating a revolutionary new way to distribute and monetize projects of this style.

The original vlog that torpedoed Planeless’ deal featured Paul closely examining the victim's dead body, and despite the minimal effort made to blur the body, it made for an incredibly unsettling video. The backlash that followed resulted in the video's removal less than 48 hours later.

Paul later did an apology tour, claiming to have grown and learned from the project, but it looks like he's not finished dealing with the consequences of his actions.

In the meantime, Paul is still prepping for that Floyd Mayweather fight no one asked one.
