Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta Speak About The New Deal They’ve reached Since Taylor Swift Blasted Them!
Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta have spoken out for the first time since announcing the former's acquisition of the latter's Big Machine label.

The deal sparked controversy amongst artists and industry experts when Taylor Swift published a scathing Tumblr Post about Braun acquiring the masters to her first six albums (released via Big Machine), calling the situation her "worst case scenario."
Braun and Borchetta recently gave their first interview as business partners to Billboard, but they refused to comment on Swift's response or the myriad artists who leapt to her defence afterwards.
Instead, Braun drew comparisons between himself and Borchetta, who first met in 2010 when Braun's client Justin Bieber opened for Borchetta's new signee Swift.
"Our stories were similar," Braun said. "Everyone at Big Machine — Taylor was kind, Scott was kind — everyone was kind to me and Justin when we were doing that show, and you don't forget those things. I never forgot that, and we started a friendship."
He went on to describe his company Ithaca Holdings' partnership with Big Machine as "the first move of many in building an ecosystem that allows artists to go after their dreams."
Borchetta, meanwhile, emphasized that his label would continue to operate as it has been, just under the banner of Braun's empire.

"There's not a lot of overlap between our two companies," Borchetta said. "That's why I believe Scooter was so attracted to the company — we have a lot of the things that were additive to what they're doing at Ithaca."

#RHOA: Nene Leakes Allegedly got ANGERED Over Cynthia Bailey’s Engagement During Filming!
NeNe Leakes exploded over Cynthia Bailey’s engagement and cameras Opens a New Window according to RadarOnline NeNe skipped the Real Housewives of Atlanta filming for an event at Cynthia’s wine shop where her boyfriend, Mike Hill, popped the question but when she found out the details, she was livid.
As we all know, NeNe and Cynthia had a massive falling out at the end of Season 11 and their friendship seemed beyond repair.
NeNe was irate when Cynthia lied to her about inviting Kenya Moore to her big bash on the season finale of the show, and after the reunion the women have not spoken.

When she found out that her close friend Marlo Hampton was on hand to witness Cynthia’s engagement that was filmed for RHOA, she was livid.

Marlo, who had already filmed with NeNe for the new RHOA season, attended the wine event where Cynthia got engaged, enraging NeNe in the process. “NeNe was pissed with Marlo for filming with Cynthia and the rest of the group,” the insider snitched. “Marlo told her she needs to let it go and apologize to everyone,” says a  source of the show.
RHOA cameras captured NeNe’s angry conversation with Marlo, the first sparks she let fly during filming,“That was minor and NeNe’s over it now,” the source said about her fight with Marlo, one of her only friends left on RHOA. NeNe didn’t show up for the “surprise” engagement and she had “no regrets” about missing it.

But wait! NeNe claims it isn’t true. Leakes said she’s happy for her friend and even sent her a gift. She shared on social media that reports that she was upset over the engagement were false and she was thrilled about Cynthia’s news. She writes,
“Number 1, WHY would i explode? WHY? Chile I don’t want high blood pressure  Number 2, i sent @cynthiabailey10 the nite of her engagement a beautiful gift and card. I couldn’t be happier for her finding love again. Number 3 @radaronline and all the others who continue to pick this up, post, write trying to diminish/damage my character should try using their time in a more productive way like donating to @americancancersocietyThe Lies The Lies The Lies in @kandivoice ?”

#Empire: Jussie Smollett Sells His L.A. Mansionat at a $30,000 Loss!
“Empire” star Jussie Smollett just sold off his L.A. mansion, and it seems he wanted to get out of the neighborhood ASAP.
According to real estate records, the actor sold off his 3-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 7,573 sq. ft. home in Studio City, CA for $1,655,000.

The property was not publicly listed for sale, but records show it the sale closed on July 15.

The home is pretty fantastic, and includes “wonderful views and lush green rear yard” and “all bedrooms feature suite baths.”
The listing touted a "Two car garage, custom Dolby 5.1 surround sound, Pro Cooks Kitchen, Exotic Wood Decking, to Nest operated Heating and Cooling systems, not to mention an enormous lower master retreat fully equipped with two walk in closets, large master bath, and separate office and/or nursery with a wall of glass doors leading you out to the Entertainers Deck.”
It also features a full blown digital camera surveillance system -- which is pretty ironic considering how much trouble the surveillance footage caused him back in Chicago during the investigation into his alleged incident.

#HipHopNews: Jay-Z Makes History With 100 Solo Hot 100 Appearances
JAY-Z becomes the sixth artist to earn 100 career solo appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as “Mood 4 Eva,” his collaboration with Beyoncé and Childish Gambino off The Lion King: The Gift, debuts at No. 90.
In the 60-year history of the Hot 100, only five other acts have earned over 100 entries on the chart. The “Glee” cast leads with 207 total appearances, followed by Drake (196), Lil Wayne (163), Elvis Presley (109), and Nicki Minaj (103).

JAY-Z also has five additional entries with Beyoncé as The Carters, but those tracks do not count towards his total solo entries.
Of his 100 solo entries, he’s topped the chart four times, starting with Mariah Carey’s “Heartbreaker” in 1999. It was followed by Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love” in 2003, Rihanna’s “Umbrella” in 2007, and “Empire State of Mind” with Alicia Keys in 2009. Twenty-one of his 100 entries have reached the top 10.

JAY-Z’s first entry on the Hot 100 was “Ain’t No Ni**a/Dead Presidents” featuring Foxy Brown on April 6, 1996, which peaked at No. 50 two months later.
While JAY-Z earns his 100th Hot 100 hit, his 7-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter makes her Hot 100 debut this week. “Brown Skin Girl,” which also features Beyoncé, SAINT JHN, and Wizkid, enters at No. 76, marking her first appearance on the chart.

Blue Ivy previously became the youngest-person ever to appear on a Billboard chart with her 2012 appearance on JAY-Z’s “Glory” featuring B.I.C. The fatherhood track, which was released two days after her birth, debuted at No. 74 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Cardi B will be performing in Canada this weekend, headlining VELD Festival in Toronto.

Here are The Takeaways From Tuesday's Democratic Debate
Tuesday night's Democratic presidential debate in Detroit was widely expected to pit the two leading progressives in the field against each other. Instead, Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts had each other's backs in fending off the other eight aspirants onstage.
They gave as good as they got, and emerged at least as strong as either was going in. That was particularly good news for Sanders, who had been perceived as ceding ground to Warren in recent months.

The question of the night was not so much, "Who's more progressive?" — it was more, "Can the Democrats win in 2020 running on their most progressive policies?" In the end, both questions were left hanging in the air: to be continued.

Here are the big takeaways of Night 1 of the July debate:

1. Sanders and Warren were allies, not rivals.
It began when all 10 candidates were introduced by the CNN moderators, who brought them out in the order they qualified for the event (based on polling and donations).

Sanders was first, followed immediately by Warren, who clapped him on the back and shook his hand with an air of shared determination. It was as if their body language said "it's us against them" from the outset.
As the full 150-minute marathon unfolded, Sanders and Warren were often beset literally from all those on either side of them. The framing was largely determined by the CNN moderators, who wanted to know if the other candidates thought Sanders' and Warren's ideas about "Medicare for All" and aggressive action on climate change were out of the mainstream — or just too pronounced to attract swing voters in 2020.

That theme brought some of the more marginal candidates suddenly to the fore, with the first-to-declare, former Maryland Rep. John Delaney having far more air time than in the summer's early round.
Delaney used it to tout his business experience and centrism repeatedly, but that opened him up to Warren's zinger of the night: "I don't understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can't do and shouldn't fight for."

It may have been a prepared line, but it burst out in a moment of apparent exasperation that made it all the more effective.

2. The stakes were high for lesser-known candidates.
Also getting a welcome opportunity to address the national audience were Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, who entered the race late and had not qualified for the first round; and Marianne Williamson, a self-help author who delivered several earnest sermonettes about love and hate in American culture.

Bullock stressed his credentials as the only candidate who has been elected statewide in a state that voted for President Trump. He also advertised his bona fides on the campaign finance issue. But he seemed off-balance and tongue-tied when the topic turned to nuclear deterrence and the question of the "no first use" pledge.
Electability in states Trump won was also salient for former congressman Beto O'Rourke, who twice claimed he had put his home state of Texas "in play" in 2020 by coming close to defeating Sen. Ted Cruz there in 2018. O'Rourke also seemed more sure of himself than he had been in the Miami debate last month, but that could also be said of all his rivals.

The preparation level was high for this event in part because the stakes have risen so far, so fast. Those not meeting the elevated criteria set by the Democratic National Committee for polling and funding performance will not be on stage when the Democrats next meet in September. At that point, perhaps as few as half of those seen Tuesday night will be onstage again, joining survivors from the 10 who will be onstage in Detroit on Wednesday.

Based on his latest performance, former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper may have trouble making the next cut. While he smiled and leaned into his appealingly modest and moderate answers on several issues, he seemed just one in the pack of candidates presenting varying degrees of contrast to Sanders and Warren.

3. Midwesterners claimed home-field advantage.
Congressman Tim Ryan has been "on the bubble" and strove to break through in a venue not that far from his district in Youngstown, Ohio. He emphasized his empathy with displaced workers and ripped the Trump administration's trade policies.

But when asked if he would keep Trump's tariff regime on steel or not, he did not have a ready answer other than to attack Trump again. Ryan also attracted adverse attention on Twitter and elsewhere for keeping his hands folded at his waist during the presentation of the colors before the debate. Everyone else on stage stood hand-over-heart.
Like Ryan, the other Midwesterners onstage sought something of a home-field advantage. Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota talked of winning her state plus Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa.

Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind., also talked about there being "no such thing as a permanently red state." Buttigieg, at 37 the youngest candidate, also made multiple references to his youth, noting at one point he was "a junior in high school" at the time of the Columbine High shootings in 1999. That brought smiles from several of the other candidates.

Age Isn't Everything, Says Bernie Sanders. 'It Is What You Stand For'
Buttigieg was asked directly about his age in contrast with that of the man standing beside him — Sanders, at 77 the oldest candidate. Buttigieg said chronological age was less important than vision, while making a case for generational leadership. Sanders sidestepped the question to talk about income inequality.

4. Sanders stood his ground.
Sanders was gently chided by some for raising his voice and waving his right hand, two basic characteristics of his style. He did not alter that style Tuesday night. But overall his performance was far more reminiscent of his rallies and his better debates in the 2015-16 presidential cycle, when he shocked front-runner Hillary Clinton and got more than 40% of the delegates to the nominating convention.

In the June debate, Sanders had seemed unsure of his footing, swatting at challenges from the NBC team and from his rivals and warily eyeing Warren. The veteran Democratic socialist seemed much more sure of himself on Tuesday night.

5. There were noteworthy absences.
Not in evidence on this night were the candidates who have made this the most racially diverse field in either party's history. All the people of color running for this nomination drew into the second night of the debate by lottery.

Issues of race and racism did arise, however, giving Williamson a chance to embrace her proposal for up to $500 billion in reparations payments to the African American descendants of slaves. She called it "a debt that is owed" and immediately set off a Twitter storm, pro and con. The rest of the candidates on stage tried to seek responses that were neither rejecting nor embracing of the cash payment idea.
The debate also did not touch on the issue of abortion, despite the encroachment of anti-abortion forces in legislatures and in the courts.
Even more surprising was the relative lack of talk about the president. He was referred to many times, usually with a vow to defeat him in 2020 that drew reliable applause and cheers from the partisan crowd.

But the moderators had seemingly resolved there would be little daylight between these candidates with regard to Trump. Their clear preference was to explore the areas of disagreement separating these candidates before the field is winnowed over the next several weeks.

Beyonce in talks with Disney to create new movie
Following the success of the new adaptation of the Disney animated classic 'The Lion King', Beyoncé is in talks with Disney to produce another project
Beyoncé is in talks with Disney to produce another project.

Following the success of the remake of the 1994 animated classic 'The Lion King' – which has banked $968 million worldwide in just two weeks, becoming the fifth highest-grossing film of 2019 – Disney has opened discussions with the 37-year-old R&B sensation to embark on a partnership which would give the star "free reign" to make film's "under the Disney umbrella".

A film insider said "Beyoncé's deal with Disney for 'The Lion King' was one of the biggest it has done to date. Now they want to expand it by giving her free reign to create her own movies under the Disney umbrella."
The 'Formation' hitmaker is already producing projects with her entertainment company Parkwood Entertainment, however, Disney bosses are looking to strike up a deal which could earn the singer "millions".

The insider added: "She is producing projects with Parkwood Entertainment but Disney bosses would like her to do the same for them in a partnership that would make her millions.
"The conversations are ongoing but it's an exciting proposition."
In 'The Lion King', Beyoncé voiced lioness Nala alongside Donald Glover who took on the role of Simba and the 'Halo' hitmaker also featured on the official soundtrack and released her own album 'The Lion King: The Gift', which features guests including her husband Jay Z, Pharrell Williams and Kendrick Lamar.

Speaking about her inspiration for the LP, Beyoncé said: "I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sound or my own interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa. A lot of the drums, chants, all of these incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America, we've kind of created our own genre.

Duane Martin Claims Ex-Wife Tisha Campbell Is Mentally Unstable
Tisha Campbell’s nasty divorce from Duane Martin seems to have taken a turn into crazy town, as he is accusing her of having some serious mental issues.

Duane makes the claims in new divorce docs — obtained by TMZ — saying Tisha had multiple breakdowns, including a “severe” episode back in August 2017, and she’s become paranoid and anxious, the report states.
He also accuses her of “fabricating stories that clearly are untrue.”
The docs also note how Tisha’s was unable to control her emotions during a deposition, so Duane’s legal team had to take several breaks.
Meanwhile, a source close to Tisha calls the new allegations “nonsense” and “gaslighting” tactics, similar to how he treated her throughout their marriage.

As previously reported, last year, Tisha filed for divorce following 21 years of marriage. Duane responded to the petition with a request for spousal support from his estranged wife.
As part of her complaint, Tisha accuses Duane of hiding and misappropriating money, which he says is “patently false.”
Back in February, Tisha and Duane reached a temporary custody deal for handling exchanges of their kids.

It has also been revealed that Martin borrowed $1.4 million from his buddy Will Smith because his home was in foreclosure. Smith’s team was reportedly hesitant about loan as they believed it could turn into a PR nightmare for the actor. Turns out, they were right

#LGBTIQ publisher Gay Star News closes down
British LGBTIQ news outlet Gay Star News has sadly closed down. The company has entered insolvency after seven years’ trading and around 20 staff have lost their jobs, the BBC reported.
Founders Tris Reid-Smith and Scott Nunn confirmed the news in an open letter, explaining the “problem has been entirely financial.”

“It has always been a tough business. This year, it got unexpectedly much tougher,” they wrote.
“Until the very end we had good reason to believe we would survive.
“We have fought through and won through so many times. We were incredibly close. But this one has broken us, and truly broken our hearts.”
Tris Reid-Smith and Scott Nunn founded Gay Star News in 2011 and launched in 2012. The pair thanked their “exceptional, dedicated, talented” team and thanked their advertisers.

“We’ve worked hard to empower, engage, unite, inform, inspire and entertain,” they wrote.
“We have solidly believed in the power of journalism. We’ve always believed in our community.”
Companies slammed for ‘rainbow washing’ brands for Pride Month
But they lashed companies who superficially “rainbow wash” their brands during Pride month but otherwise failed to back LGBTIQ causes.
“Brands which are wishing to ‘do’ LGBTI work are increasingly doing so in a tokenistic way,” they wrote.
“They have turned their logo rainbow colored for Pride week or month and – at best – made a small donation to an LGBTI good cause.
“Worse still, we have learned that some brands have done this while at the same time funding anti-LGBTI politicians to the tune of millions of dollars. Tokenism has reached a new low.”
Gay Star News is one of several LGBTIQ media brands to collapse in recent years.

Australian websites SameSame and Gay News Network closed down in 2017.

Karamo Brown Fires Back at Mario Lopez's Comments About Transgender Children
Mario Lopez has made some controversial comments about transgender children, commenting that it’s “dangerous” for parents to support their kids’ gender identity.

“I am trying to understand it myself, and please don’t lump me into that whole [group]. I’m kind of blown away, too. Look, I’m never one to tell anyone how to parent their kids obviously and I think if you come from a place of love, you really can’t go wrong,” Mario said while making an appearance on The Candace Owens Show.

“But at the same time, my God, if you’re three years old and you’re saying you’re feeling a certain way, or you think you’re a boy or a girl or whatever the case may be, I just think it’s dangerous as a parent to make this determination then, well, OK, then you’re going to a boy or a girl, whatever the case may be… It’s sort of alarming and my gosh, I just think about the repercussions later on,” Mario added.

Mario has faced backlash for his comments, with Queer Eye‘s Karamo Brown tweeting, “I’m disappointed to read @MarioLopezExtra comments about parent’s who support their child’s openes about their gender identity. As a social worker I am trained to identify abuse or neglect of a child. Healthy & safe dialogue w/ kids is neither abusive, neglectful or ‘dangerous.’”

Karamo added, “I don’t think @MarioLopezExtra should be ‘canceled’. But I do believe he should be given the opportunity to learn why his comments are harmful to trans youth and their parents. Mario, I’m ready to talk when you are.” Well we’ll wait to hear from Mario!
