Ciara for Wonderland - Winter 2018/2019
Looks FAB….On News stands soon.

#RHoA: Nene Leakes is having a public breakdown over caring for her Hubby Gregg telling him “You Need To Pray For Yourself!”
Y’all pray for ya Girl! It seems that Nene Leakes may be at her wit’s end with the situation involving her husband, Gregg Leakes’s, health concerns.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Nene Leakes took to social media to vent her frustrations.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star tweeted: “I would just think [thinking emoji] if i have or had cancer, i would see life so differently! Not being mean, grouchy and evil for no real reason! But that’s me. Pray for me.”

A follower tweeted back with: “Unfortunately the closet [sic] person receives the undeserved lashing out, stay strong Sis….just breathe.”
Leakes responded: “Naw don’t think I can do it.”

Another fan shared their story stating: “My dad is also battling cancer, the way he speaks to me is very cruel. It’s so hard to go through that. But it’s all unintentional. Look at it like this, no matter what you’re going through always see the goodness of the Lord in everything. I hope this helps.”
The reality star said: “I’m not sure I can do that.”
The tweet shocked fans because since it was announced that Gregg had cancer, Nene has been at the forefront as the shoulder to lean on. That wasn’t all that happened.
The Bravo husband uploaded a screenshot of a text message that spoke about ‘Brother’s Day’ and forgiving the people around you.

Nene quickly commented: “Well u need to do everything you posted! Practice what you preach. You need to pray for yourself! This mean, grouchy, evil stuff u pulling these days are NOT cool.”
In the comment section of other Instagram accounts who took notice of the drama, they advised Nene that sometimes people going through the disease can be snappy and grouchy without realizing it. The 50-year-old was unwilling to listen.
Hopefully, the two can work it out. What do you think Nene was referring to?

#Empire’ Recap: Why is Hakeem & Tiana daughter Bella’s holding a Gun?
Oh, Hakeem. You’ve messed up. Hakeem and Tiana got into a major fight, and the final moments of the Nov. 28 episode of ‘Empire’ put Bella’s life on the line.
In a new flash forward in the opening moments of the Nov. 28 episode of Empire, Lucious is washing blood off his hands. Cookie walks into the room to tell Lucious someone is in surgery. When she sees the blood, she asks, “Lucious, what did you do?”

Four months earlier, Jamal is performing and teasing a Lyon Family Management showcase. He does a live interview and reveals that he’s engaged to Kai, who is not happy about this very public announcement.
Lucious is trying to distract Cookie from the fact that he sold the Derek Adams painting that he gave her two years earlier. They’re both staying busy, though. They have their fair share of trouble getting Devon and Carlito ready for the showcase. Lucious and Cookie are both blindsided when Kingsley pulls all of Lucious’s music from all streaming platforms. Becky comes to tell them all personally that Kingsley is vaulting Lucious’s entire catalogue. That means the money is going to slow down.
Lucious goes to Empire to confront Kingsley about vaulting his music. He knows that Kingsley has no strategy with this. This is personal. “I’m going to wipe you from the consciousness of an entire generation,” Kingsley spits at Lucious. “I’m going to make you extinct.” Chill, Kingsley.

Tiana confronts Hakeem about his beef with Blake. Now fans are threatening her and the kids. She demands Hakeem talk to Blake. Hakeem does just that, but things don’t get any better. Blake reveals that he’s spent quality time with Tiana and her kids. That pisses Hakeem off something fierce. Hakeem pulls a gun on Blake, and both of their teams pull their guns out. This beef is out of control.

Maya stops by Cookie’s place to tell her that she’s broken up with her boyfriend. She apologizes, but she also needs a place to crash. Cookie lets her stay, but not for free. She is Cookie’s new assistant!
Lucious, Andre, and Thirsty want to do some digging into how Kingsley is going to make up the lost revenues that he’s losing from locking up Lucious’s music. There has to be a supplemental revenue. Lucious wants to keep this digging quiet from Cookie. Keeping secrets is nothing new for Cookie. Back when Cookie and Lucious were in a bad spot over a year earlier, she crossed paths with Damon Cross. They got stuck in an elevator together. That can’t be the end of the story, right?

Thirsty calls upon Becky for help with Kingsley. He needs her to access Empire’s financials. It’s time for her to choose a side. She chooses the Lyons. She goes to Kingsley’s office and successfully gets the information for the Lyons. Turns out, Kingsley has been selling to law enforcement and tracking Empire listeners in real time. He goes to Kai with the information, who wants to dig deeper. Jamal is hesitant about Kai going all-in with this story, but Kai isn’t backing down.
Giselle’s private investigator finds out about the connection between Lucious and Kingsley. Giselle wastes no time confronting Kingsley about it in his mother’s hospital room. Giselle is ruthless. I love her.

Cookie finally sees Candace after Franklin nearly killed them. Candace is in no mood to forgive Cookie. She wants revenge. She reveals Cookie’s big secret to Lucious — that apartment. Lucious flips out on Cookie. He confesses that he sold the Derek Adams painting. “Everything we did is a lie,” he screams. The trust between them has been broken.

At the same time, Tiana and Hakeem are fighting over Blake. Tiana tries to leave with the kids, but Hakeem is holding her back. Suddenly, Bella walks out with Hakeem’s gun. Not knowing what she has in  her hand, she points it directly at Tiana, Cookie, Lucious, and Hakeem. Then, she points the gun at her head. PROTECT BELLA LYON AT ALL COSTS!

#HipHopNews: Jay-Z Calls Out Kanye West On Meek Mill’s ‘What’s Free’
The hip-hop icon takes aim at Kanye West on “What’s Free,” a collaboration with Rick Ross and Meek Mill off the latter’s new album Championships.
On the standout cut, which is a take on The Notorious B.I.G.’s “What’s Beef,” Hov calls out the MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporter. “No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye / They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA,” he raps. “I ain’t one of these house ni**as you bought / My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours.”

He goes on to possibly mention Kanye’s spouse, Kim Kardashian, but stops short. “My spo—c’mon, man—my route better, of course.”

LISTEN HERE

JAY-Z and Kanye have had a tumultuous relationship throughout the years. During an April interview with David Letterman’s “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” JAY spoke about his relationship with Ye. “That’s my brother,” he said. “We’re beyond friends. Really, like literally, my little brother is Kanye, and like your little brother, things happen sometimes.”

In September, Kanye announced that a sequel to Watch the Throne was in the works, but he didn’t specify if JAY would be involved.

Meek has also spoken out against Kanye following his White House meeting with Trump. “I don’t think [Kanye] addressed anything that had to do with what was tough on justice reform. He wasn’t prepared for it, and he shouldn’t have done it,” he told Vulture. “I had phone calls with Kanye for hours. He was trying to get me to go to things like that.”

Mariah Carey Gets Mom-Shamed for Not Seat Belting Twins Moroccan and Monroe While Singing in a Moving Car
A proud Mariah Carey took to Instagram on Wednesday, November 28, to share a video of the singer’s 7-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, belting her 1994 hit, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” In the clip, the spirited threesome are seen showing off their vocal chops in a moving car — and some eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice a safety hazard.

“Seatbelts save lives,” wrote one person. “Not to be a downer, but seatbelts save lives,” added another. A third scolded: “Teach them how to fasten their seatbelts and you too.”

But mostly, people were just excited to hear the Grammy winner and her backup singers, “Roc & Roe,” performing together. As one woman gushed in the comments: “I keep unliking this just so I can press the like button again!”
Hitting high notes isn’t Moroccan’s only talent. In June, Carey — who shares her kids with ex-husband Nick Cannon — revealed that the little boy is “a technological genius” and managed to purchase a live animal on the Internet.
“The other night, apparently, he was with Nick, and he ordered a dog,” she explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “And they called him and they were like, ‘Your dog is ready.’ And he was like, ‘I didn’t order a damn dog.’ We have enough dog, that’s the point.”

Later, the Mariah’s World star clarified that the pup was “canceled” as the twins already “have dogs, they have pets, they have fish! They have everything they need

Cannon, 38, told Us Weekly in July that Moroccan and Monroe “are definitely entertainers” and love being the center of attention.
“They’re hams!” the TV personality quipped at the time. “They’ve got a lot of energy and great personalities. They are very intelligent, warm and loving, so I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

The former couple, who split in 2014 after six years of marriage, remain close friends.

Say it ain't so, Sly! Stallone calls is QUITS for Rocky Balboa!
Creed II is the latest heavyweight box-office champ in the long-running Rocky series. Now, after 40 years of playing Philadelphia’s most beloved fictional boxer, the architect of the franchise, Sylvester Stallone, is making it clear he’s gone the distance. In a new Instagram post, the actor suggests that Rocky Balboa — who retired from the ring in 2006’s Rocky Balboa — is leaving boxing behind for good. “This is probably my last rodeo,” Stallone remarks in the Instagram video announcing his retirement, which was filmed on Creed II‘s last day of production. “I thought Rocky was over in 2006, and I was very happy with that.”
But then Rocky, and his creator, were coaxed back into service by director Ryan Coogler for 2015’s Creed, which introduced Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, son of Balboa’s rival-turned-pal Apollo. Besides transforming the younger Creed into fighting shape, Balboa also won a serious bout against cancer in that earlier film, ensuring that he’d still be in his protégé’s corner for the sequel as Adonis faced his biggest opponent yet: Viktor Drago, the son of Rocky’s greatest foe.

Stallone co-wrote the script for Creed II and seizes the opportunity to gracefully end Balboa’s story for a second time. After spending much of the movie expressing regret about being estranged from his son (Milo Ventimiglia, reprising his role from Rocky Balboa), the elder Rocky turns up on Rocky Jr.’s doorstep and is greeted by his cherubic grandchild before being ushered inside. It’s a much more upbeat conclusion than some of the other final acts Stallone has had in mind for the Italian Stallion over the years. In an early draft of Rocky V, for example, Rocky died after his street fight with Tommy Gunn.

That’s exactly the kind of ending that Creed II director, Steven Caple Jr., was personally dreading when he cracked open Stallone’s screenplay. “When I read the script, part of me was scared that he was going to die,” he admits to Yahoo Entertainment. At the same time, he found a way to work our collective concern for Balboa’s mortality into the finished film. “I just want everyone to remember Rocky in a great way, so I played with the idea of him being sort of ghostly. Because the whole theme of this [film] is the ghosts in the past.” (Watch our video interview above.)

Of course, the fact that Balboa is still alive at the end of Creed II leaves the door open for Stallone to change his mind by the time Creed III goes before cameras. Based on his farewell video, though, it sounds like he’s ready for Adonis to be the sole star of his own story. “There’s a whole new world that’s going to be opening up for the audience, for this generation,” he promises, before ushering Jordan over to join him on camera as he passes the torch for the franchise. “Now you have to carry the mantle.” We have no doubt that Jordan’s got the eye of the tiger required to keep the Creed — and Rocky — name alive for years to come.

Creed II is playing in theaters now.

Kevin Hart Defends Kenzo’s ‘Cowboys & Indians’ Themed Birthday Party
Kevin Hart is responding to the backlash he and his wife, Eniko Hart, received for their year-old son’s “Cowboys and Indians” themed birthday party.
Kenzo celebrated his first birthday on November 21 and his parents went all out for his “Wild West” shindig.

Eniko shared a photo of the party with the caption:
That’s when Mari Posa, an Indigenous feminist, took to Twitter and scolded the couple!
Someone else chimed in to add:
Kevin addressed the backlash during his SiriusXM show “Straight from The Hart.”

The actor and comedian said the party was inspired by old western movies and in no way were they trying to be malicious.
He also pointed out it was the same day the Cowboys played the Redskins. Oookay…

Keep in mind, the same day the Cowboys played the Redskins on TV. It’s a very known fact.
The reason why I’m even bringing this dumb sh-t up is because it shows just how stupid our world is becoming with opinions. People are at a point of an all-time high.
I’m saying the battle that is ‘assumed’ because of the movies and because of everything they’ve seen, was because of the fights that were between the cowboys and the Indians.

So as a kid, when you played these games, it was based off of the premise from a hypothetical place that was put into perception for movies. So what I’m saying — this isn’t something that was just started.
This isn’t a racial slur that people are doing and being malicious with. This is a game that’s been played for years.

The Fixer! Michael Cohen said he paid hush money at 'direction' of Trump
NEW YORK — President Donald Trump’s onetime attorney and personal fixer, Michael Cohen, told a federal court on Tuesday that he had paid off two women to silence them before the 2016 election at Trump’s "direction," and admitted that the payments were illegal.
Cohen admitted he paid an adult film star hush money "at the direction of" a candidate running for federal office, a reference to Trump. He said the payment was intended to keep her from talking about an affair she said she had with the billionaire in 2006.

The payment came at a particularly sensitive moment, after the release of an Access Hollywood outtake in which Trump boasted about sexually assaulting women and less than a month before the election that carried Trump to the White House.
The Justice Department alleged that Cohen paid to silence the actress and another woman, a former Playboy playmate, "in order to influence the 2016 presidential election." And prosecutors charged that the payments were "coordinated with one or more members of the campaign, including through meetings and phone calls about the fact, nature, and timing of the payments."

Cohen pleaded guilty to eight charges, including allegations that the payments violated campaign finance laws and unrelated charges that he lied to banks to obtain improper loans and lied to the government to avoid paying taxes.
Deputy U.S. Attorney Robert Khuzami said Cohen decided, as a lawyer, that he was above the law and would pay a "very, very serious price" for his actions.

"These are very serious charges and reflect a pattern of lies and dishonesty over an extended period of time," Khuzami said.
Trump's suspected involvement
Two of the charges against Cohen center on payments during Trump's 2016 campaign to women who'd alleged they'd had affairs with Trump years earlier. Both, prosecutors charged, had been "coordinated" with Trump's campaign, and both violated federal campaign finance laws.

Trump has denied the affairs. Court records don't include the names of the women or the other participants in the scheme, but in most cases, their identities were obvious based on months of disclosures about the investigation into Cohen and the women's separate lawsuits.

In one instance, prosecutors said "Corporation-1" - whose description matches public descriptions of the National Enquirer, entered into an agreement in August 2016 to buy the story of one woman, Karen McDougal, identified as "Woman-1," for $150,000. Prosecutors said the purpose of the agreement, in which Cohen participated, "was to suppress Woman-1’s story so as to prevent it from influencing the election."

Prosecutors said Cohen arranged a separate payment to Stormy Daniels, referred to as Woman-2, to prevent her from speaking to the press.
The 51-year-old Cohen said in court that he made the payments in coordination with Trump, who wasn't named, to influence the election.
Khuzami said Cohen worked to silence the women whose stories would be "detrimental to the 2016 campaign." Cohen then sought reimbursement for the payments in 2017 by writing invoices for legal services to Trump's company..

"He provided no legal services for the year 2017 and it was simply a means to obtain reimbursement for the unlawful campaign contributions,” Khuzami said.
Lanny J. Davis, Cohen's attorney, said his client fulfilled a promise to "tell the truth" about Trump.
"Today he stood up and testified under oath that Donald Trump directed him to commit a crime by making payments to two women for the principal purpose of influencing an election," Davis said in a statement.  "If those payments were a crime for Michael Cohen, then why wouldn't they be a crime for Donald Trump?"

Rudy Giuliani, Trump's personal lawyer, said Tuesday that Cohen's case has nothing to do with the president.
"There is no allegation of any wrongdoing against the President in the government's charges against Mr. Cohen," Giuliani said in a written statement. "It is clear that, as the prosecutor noted, Mr. Cohen's actions reflect a pattern of lies and dishonesty over a significant period of time."

Bobby Brown’s Sister Releasing Free Tell-All Book About Whitney Houston’s Alleged Murdered & How Singer’s Wife Only Wants To Make Money Off Bobbi Kristina’s Name
Bobby Brown’s recent lawsuit hit the media this week, and his sister is responding to the details of the suit indirectly. Brown and his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate filed a lawsuit against Showtime Networks, BBC, and the producers of an upcoming Whitney Houston documentary titled “Can I Be Me?” The documentary in question allegedly contains never before seen 15-year-old footage of Brown and Bobbi Kristina, but the pair never consented for the producers to use it.

While the wheel begins to spin on the $2 million suit, Leolah Brown Muhammad, Bobby Brown’s sister, is coming forward with countering claims about the lawsuit and Bobbi Kristina’s estate. Muhammad opened her Facebook app on Wednesday (Nov. 28) and went on an exposing rant, claiming Bobby doesn’t own his Bobbi Kristina’s Serenity House. While adding Bobby’s wife, Alicia Etheredge, owns it, and only wants money off the late Bobbi Kristina – on top of her not valuing Bobbi Kristina’s life when was still alive.

Muhammad claims she has a book on the way and plans on giving it out for free. She says the book will contain sensitive information surrounding the life of Bobbi Kristina and Whitney Houston, and alleges the things in the media are not 100% true; alluding to Whitney’s cause of death being murder.

…And Alicia is literally the whole dam reason my niece could never even spend 2 minutes with her father after her mother was murdered! I don’t know what’s wrong with my brother! They got him SO MESSED UP! Man they came straight in my family with all this conquer & divide madness.. But y’all just hold on I had a big meeting tonight… We just got done.. I’m coming for all and any! If they don’t like it too dam bad! I’m only concerned with Bobbi Kristina Brown and Whitney Houston! Hell they don’t have their lives anymore because of these dam demonic people!

While she has yet to share a date for her alleged tell-all, she plans on launching a YouTube channel and going Live on social media to speak further into her allegations. Thursday, she extended on why she plans on coming forward,

Me & my assistant spent the last few weeks doing what it is we are doing…but the closer we get to giving you guys this book and doing what I am doing I find myself weeping because of the evil in this world! I wasn’t born into this world to be a FAKE or PHONY person! I refuse to be! But, at the same time, It’s hard being me! It’s really hard when your really a good hearted person and love to just spread good ..but HAVE TO tell you all what really happened to my sister and niece and it ain’t fun doing it! I literally hate the fact that I HAVE TO TELL IT! And it has to be me! Because, if I don’t do it no one else will! And Whitney & Bobbi Kristina is making sure that I do not sleep until I reveal this stuff! I am SO TIRED OF EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS STUFF! I WANT TO MOVE ON IN MY LIFE BUT I CAN’T! AND I WONT UNTIL IT’S DONE!

Will you be reading Leolah Brown’s book?

Bradley Cooper Says He and Lady Gaga Are Navigating Awards Season 'Together'
Bradley Cooper is getting a lot of praise for A Star Is Born, and the talented actor was feeling the love on Thursday as the 32nd American Cinematheque Award honoree.

The 43-year-old actor walked the red carpet outside the star-studded gala, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, where he stopped to talk with ET's Lauren Zima about his role in the spotlight at the big event.
"Tonight is a really interesting one, just in that the thought of it makes me want to crawl into a hole," Cooper admitted with a laugh. "But when I just sit back, I really just want to enjoy it and embrace it."

Cooper added that one thing he really appreciated was getting support from his close friends, who turned out for the black-tie affair to cheer him on
One friend who stepped out for the big night was Cooper's co-star, Lady Gaga, who stunned in a gorgeous, curve-hugging, semi-sheer ivory gown.
Cooper -- who both starred in and directed A Star Is Born -- said that he and Gaga have managed to stay connected following the weeks of intense promotion ahead of the movie's release back in October.

"She's very busy, but we text and we see each other every couple of weeks," Cooper shared. "I love doing Q&As, so we've done a couple of those together, so that's been great."
With the unofficial awards season underway, A Star Is Born is already getting quite a bit of Oscars buzz, with particular praise being directed at the film's score, as well as Gaga's breakthrough performance, and Cooper's helming of the film, which marked his directorial debut.
Cooper is no stranger to the complicated terrain of awards season -- having already been nominated for four Oscars in the last six years, while Gaga isn't quite as well versed when it comes to campaigning for a nomination (although she was nominated for Best Original Song and performed live at the 2016 Oscars).

However, Cooper said he isn't guiding her through the madness, but rather experiencing it alongside her, explaining, "We're just doing it together."
As for rumors about the pair performing a song from A Star Is Born at the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony, Cooper shrugged off the suggestion.

"That's way too premature," he shared. "Let's just wait and see."

Judge Blocks Kardashian-Jenner Family’s Attempt To Have Blac Chyna’s Lawsuit Against Rob Kardashian Tossed
The Kardashian-Jenner clan took an “L” this week after a judge shut down the family’s attempt to have #BlacChyna’s lawsuit against #RobKardashian thrown out.
In a statement Chyna’s lawyer, #LisaBloom, wrote “Today the court REJECTED the Kardashian family’s request to strike Chyna’s entire lawsuit.” This means #KrisJenner, #KimKardashian, KhloeKardashian and #KylieJenner will have to face off against Chyna in court over the family allegedly slut-shaming and defaming her and trying to cancel her “hit show” with Rob.
The judge removed six paragraphs from Chyna’s complaint, but kept the rest of her claims, according to The Blast. The judge removed portions of Chyna’s lawsuit that highlighted the family accusing her of assaulting Rob. “We thank the court for its careful, well-reasoned rulings,” adding, “We look forward to getting a trial date next month and aggressively fighting for Chyna’s rights at trial,” said Bloom in a statement.

Chyna and Rob still have to hash out the arrangements of child custody, as Rob claims he cannot afford child support payments.

ICE refuses to release mandatory report on how a trans asylum seeker died in their custody
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is refusing to release a report documenting how a trans asylum seeker died in their custody. Autopsy results have shown that the woman died of severe untreated dehydration and was beaten before she passed.

US law says ICE must issue a report within 30 days of a detainee’s death in custody; it has been 188 days since she died. Instead, the government agency says a press release they issued previously saying she had died of complications from pneumonia would constitute their report.
Instead of issuing the report, the agency has started an attempt to smear the forensic doctor who performed the autopsy.

Roxsana Hernández Rodriguez was looking for a better life when she came to America seeking asylum. She was fleeing brutality in her native Honduras but died at the hands of the for-profit prison industry who held her captive since her arrival.
She was being held in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in New Mexico operated by the second-largest private prison company in the United States, CoreCivic.

“Accountability dies in the darkness that they’re creating,” Lynly Egyes, litigation director at the Transgender Law Center, told INTO reporter Kate Sosin. “They’re claiming that they have this review or that she wasn’t abused in custody, but aren’t submitting the information to those who are requesting it.”

Sosin reveals that they were emailed information about Dr. Kris Sperry meant to discredit the doctor. The email came from ICE officials. ICE pointed out that Sperry resigned as Georgia’s chief medical examiner after it was revealed he was moonlighting as a paid forensic consultant.
“ICE can take issue with the events that led to his resignation,” said Free, noting that Sperry has not been disqualified as an expert in the field. “But they have not taken issue with his science, and the reason they haven’t is because he is a sound scientist.”

“A review of Hernandez’s death conducted by ICE Health Service Corps medical professionals confirmed that she suffered from a history of untreated HIV,” ICE wrote in an on-the-record statement provided to INTO.  “At no time did the medical personnel treating Ms. Hernandez at Cibola General Hospital or Lovelace Medical Center raise any issues of suspected physical abuse.”
“Pursuant to policy and as outlined in the agency’s announcement of her passing, a thorough investigation of this incident by the appropriate parties is being conducted in order to affirm that ICE protocols were followed,” Jennifer D. Elzea, ICE press secretary, told the outlet. “The results of the review, once completed, will be available via FOIA.”
The agency is federally required to issue a preliminary public report within 30 days of a detainee’s death and finalize it within 60 days.

“Trans people in my neighborhood are killed and chopped into pieces, then dumped inside potato bags,” Hernández Rodriguez said in an interview with Buzzfeed News a month before her death. “I didn’t want to come to Mexico—I wanted to stay in Honduras but I couldn’t… They kill trans people in Honduras. I’m scared of that.”

CNN FIRES Marc Lamont Hill over ‘alleged’ Anti Semetic remarks!
A CNN spokeswoman said Marc Lamont Hill, a media studies professor at Temple University, was no longer under contract with the company.
CNN fired Marc Lamont Hill on Thursday after the longtime contributor made comments about Israel during a U.N. speech.
Hill, a media studies professor at Temple University, had drawn scrutiny for calling for a “free Palestine from the river to the sea.” The words drew criticism from some conservatives and staunch Israel advocates, who said such remarks echoed language used by Hamas and other groups that seek to eliminate Israel.

“Marc Lamont Hill is no longer under contract with CNN,” spokeswoman Barbara Levin told The Washington Post. The company did not answer questions about why he was dismissed. The firing was first reported by Mediaite.
Some mainstream Jewish groups, including the Anti-Defamation League, expressed frustration with Hill’s remarks, which also included endorsing the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel. Fox News also fanned the flames.

Hill has been pushing back against the criticism, arguing that the detractors were ascribing to his statements meaning that wasn’t there.
“At no point did I endorse, support, or even mention Hamas. This is dishonest,” he said Wednesday on Twitter. “I was very clear in my comments about desiring freedom, justice, and self-determination for EVERYONE.”
On Thursday, he issued a lengthier explanation for his statements. “I support Palestinian freedom. I support Palestinian self-determination. I am deeply critical of Israeli policy and practice,” Hill wrote. “I do not support anti-Semitism, killing Jewish people, or any of the other things attributed to my speech. I have spent my life fighting these things.”

He said that the “river to the sea” phrase dates to the early 20th century and “has never been the exclusive province of a particular ideological camp.”
“This means that all areas of historic Palestine — e.g., West Bank, Gaza, Israel — must be spaces of freedom, safety, and peace for Palestinians,” he wrote. “The idea that this is a Hamas phrase is simply untrue.”

Some used the news of Lamont’s firing to attack CNN.
“FINALLY FIRED,” wrote Sebastian Gorka, a former aide to President Trump. “Now for the rest of the Anti-Semites @CNN and the rest of the Left embrace.”

Bruce Springsteen has never shied away from expressing his political views onstage and in his music, and the rocker's most recent interview is no exception -- especially when the conversation turned to Donald Trump.

For Esquire's December cover story, Springsteen invited the magazine backstage at the Walter Kerr Theater, where he's in the midst of his Springsteen on Broadway run. The show is a combination of memoir and song, in that the star reads from his own writings about his childhood, his family, his career and his love, and stripped-down musical interludes separate these throws to Springsteen's memories. Several times, he turns to the Vietnam War, 9/11 and other events that have shaped modern American history and identity, and he took the opportunity to explain his perspective on what's currently going on in the United States and what Trump and the "dark angels" who support him represent.

"I do feel that people feel under siege, and sometimes for reasons that I don’t agree with and that are unfortunate," he told Esquire. "Like I say, whether it’s the changing face of the nation or... I think those people legitimately feel under siege. Their way of life is somehow threatened... that’s always been a part of the American story. It continues to be a part of it today."

He speaks of how “these are times when we’ve also seen folks marching, and in the highest offices of our land, who want to speak to our darkest angels, who want to call up the ugliest and most divisive ghosts of America’s past. And they want to destroy the idea of an America for all. That’s their intention.”
Springsteen then spoke on Trump, specifically, the rise of the alt-right and those "invested in denying the idea of a united America and an America for all."
“[He] has no interest in uniting the country, really, and actually has an interest in doing the opposite and dividing us, which he does on an almost daily basis." he continued. "So that’s simply a crime against humanity, as far as I’m concerned. It’s an awful, awful message to send out into the world if you’re in that job and in that position. It’s just an ugly, awful message. You are intentionally trying to disenfranchise a large portion of Americans... And then there’s just the rise of -- whether it’s the alt-right or the folks who were marching in Charlottesville with their tiki torches and all of that coming to the fore again, you know? Which our president was more than happy to play into and to play to. So these are folks who are invested in denying the idea of a united America and an America for all. It’s a critical moment. This has come so far to the surface, and it’s so toxic... It’s a scary moment for any conscientious American, I think.”

Still, Springsteen is hopeful that "we'll survive Trump." His hope for the future, and a request to his fellow Americans: "Let people view themselves as Americans first, that the basic founding principles of the country could be adhered to, whether it’s equality or social justice. Let people give each other a chance.”

Springsteen on Broadway closes at New York's Walter Kerr Theater on Dec. 15 and will hit Netflix in the form of a special for the streaming network on Dec. 16.

#HipHopNews: Meek Mill Says He’s Is Open To Working With Drake Again
In a new interview with Vulture, Meek spoke about his on-stage reconciliation with Drake. According to him, the two were already talking long before they reconnected in the public eye.
“Me and Drake have actually been communicating for the last year,” he told Vulture. “Even before I went to prison. It was based on the right time. We ain’t have nothing going on but a rap beef, we didn’t cause harm to each other.”

He added, “I think it took both of us going through some ups and downs, me in my career. It made me stronger. I’m moving off love right now, so it was only proper to link with someone I actually did business with before and called my friend before.”
Meek was then asked about whether the two would ever collaborate on music again. The Dreamchasers leader revealed he could see it happening before speaking more about his concert reunion with Drake.
“I think that’s possible,” he said. “What we did was genuine. We didn’t just do it for the love of the people ‘cause we could’ve been done that. We waited until we were ready and did that.”

Meek is scheduled to release a new album titled Championships on Friday (November 30). The LP will feature guests appearances by Cardi B, Kodak Black and Ella Mai.

The Icon Janet Jackson Inks New Global Partnership with Paradigm Talent Agency
Janet Jackson is taking her career worldwide again. The music icon has landed a global representation agreement with Paradigm Talent Agency to expand her horizons in touring, theatre, film and branding.

“Janet Jackson is one of the most iconic and culturally significant artists of all time and we are thrilled to partner with her to create global opportunities for her as an artist and for the art she creates,” said Sam Gores, chairman and CEO of Paradigm. “We will also seek inspiring opportunities to support Janet’s long history and dedication to social activism and female and gender advocacy.”
This collaboration between Jackson and Paradigm is quite ideal. With a dynamic legacy that spans more than 30 years, Jackson has solidified her role as a global icon.

The legendary artist lives up to her role as a global ambassador with a Latin-inspired version of her latest single “Made for Now” featuring Daddy Yankee. The Afrocentric version, which was released in July, was meant to bring people together. The release is part of Jackson’s forthcoming EP, which features production from Harmony Samuels.

“I worked on most of the EP,” Samuels said to Rated R&B in August. “Each song has a different feel. Each song has a different style. She bodies it! She does her thing.”

#POLITICS: Nancy Pelosi Wins Democratic Speaker Nomination
WASHINGTON ― Despite a group of Democrats vowing to block her, Nancy Pelosi cruised through an internal House Democratic Caucus vote Wednesday to effectively secure the nomination of her party to return as speaker.

Pelosi won the caucus vote 203-32, with three blank ballots and one absence, in an uncontested race. (A total of 239 votes were cast because Democrats allowed ballots from delegates, who won’t get to participate in the House floor vote.)
The Democratic leader came away with a slightly stronger vote than expected, but, as the 32 votes against Pelosi indicate, her work isn’t done.

Pelosi will face a floor vote on Jan. 3, when she must get a majority of the whole House, 218 votes. With Democrats expected to have 235 members, that means Pelosi could lose only 17 Democrats and still be elected speaker ― if every Republican votes against her and none of the Democrats currently opposing her vote “present.” (A “present” vote would, in effect, be a half-vote for Pelosi, as it would lower the majority threshold.)

Pelosi’s Democratic detractors promise they won’t vote for her on the floor, and with 16 Democrats currently signed onto a letter making that promise, on top of about a half-dozen freshman Democrats who ran for Congress by vowing to not support Pelosi and continuing to say they’ll uphold their promise, Pelosi still has a vote problem ― albeit one that she potentially has ways out of.
The anti-Pelosi group has been in a scramble lately as it tries to tamp down members in the group from defecting. Already Pelosi has flipped two members who had signed the letter pledging to not support her ― Marcia Fudge (Ohio) and Brian Higgins (N.Y.) ― as well as dozens of incoming freshmen who were shaky during the campaign on whether they’d support Pelosi.

Pelosi has also gotten some iffy signs from Stephen Lynch (Mass.) on whether he’d support her to be speaker, and she won over Albio Sires (N.J.) and Robin Kelly (Ill.), who had signed an earlier letter with Pelosi detractors pushing to delay leadership elections.

But Pelosi still faces hard opposition from about 20 Democrats ― with other Democrats signaling on Wednesday that she isn’t their first choice for speaker.
The votes against Pelosi might not mean much, though. Pelosi’s team actually pushed some freshman Democrats who said they wouldn’t support her to vote against Pelosi in the caucus election ― that way they could tell their constituents they had upheld their word to oppose Pelosi.
There was even word that some Democrats would tweet pictures of their ballot from the closed-door caucus election. While such tactics look like a slap in Pelosi’s face, the idea may have originated from some of Pelosi’s allies, as there was some talk of recording each member’s vote in an effort to allow freshman Democrats who ran on a pledge to not support Pelosi to show they upheld their pledge ― in some way.

What matters to Pelosi much more than Wednesday’s caucus vote is the floor vote in January, when Republicans will also get a say over the speaker. Pelosi’s win in caucus has never been in doubt, but with more than 20 Democrats continuing to say they won’t support her on the floor, Pelosi still has a problem.

That doesn’t mean she won’t become speaker. She’s the heavy favorite to do so. But she may have to make some more promises to flip individual members, or vow that this will be her last term in order to flip a large chunk.

Already the group of Pelosi detractors looks eager to make a deal. Leaders of the group ― Reps. Tim Ryan (Ohio), Seth Moulton (Mass.) and Kathleen Rice (N.Y.) ― met privately with Pelosi on Wednesday afternoon, and there’s some talk that a key number of the anti-Pelosi Democrats would support her if she promised to make this her last term.
“Moments ago we met with Leader Pelosi and tried to engage her in a reasonable conversation about leadership transition,” Rice said after Wednesday’s meeting. “Unfortunately, our concerns were dismissed outright. We remain united behind our goal of new leadership and intend to vote against Leader Pelosi in Caucus and on the Floor of the House.”

Pelosi doesn’t look eager to make another deal, particularly if she doesn’t have to. She already made a deal with the so-called Problem Solvers Caucus ― a bipartisan group of lawmakers who wanted specific rules changes to open up Congress ― even though that group had already vowed to not support Pelosi if she didn’t agree to their rule changes, in writing, by a deadline of nearly two weeks ago.

Alternately, Pelosi could promise nothing to her remaining detractors, dare these Democrats to vote against her and see if they can withstand the pressure.

Black Excellence: Omari Hardwick Posts Pic With Michael B. Jordan and Others, Fans Praise Black Men Supporting One Another
Michael B. Jordan is probably still wearing a big old smile on his face since his film “Creed II” already racked up over $55 million dollars in opening box office sales, making it the biggest debut for a Thanksgiving weekend release ever.
But before those numbers came in, Jordan received major support from people like Omari Hardwick, who posted a photo from the New York premiere. TV host Terrence J is also in the shot, as is Steelo Brim from the MTV show “Ridiculousness” and Senior Vice President of A&R at Roc Nation Lenny Santiago.

Omari Hardwick and others praised for supporting Michael B. Jordan at Creed II premiere
In the caption space, Omari stated that he was proud of Jordan and included an emoji of two bumping Black fists to show unity.
“The 5 Heartbeats? GangGang,” wrote the “Power” actor. “Thanks for getting us all out, lil bro. “@michaelbjordan #PROUD. #CREED.”

Women didn’t only like seeing all the men in one shot and dressed to the nines, they also loved the support they gave Jordan, and the guys appreciated it too. Especially in entertainment circles were jobs for Black actors are scarce, and it’s typically every artist for themselves.

“A group of sexy brothers in harmony and enjoying a laugh together. Thank you for this beautiful pic,” one person wrote.
“Love to see brothers coming together and it’s all happiness,” wrote another. “God bless you all.”
“I love y’all bond,” wrote someone else.

There were also people who loved the fact that everyone in the photo is successful, and the men were called perfect examples of Black excellence.

Ozzy Osbourne Doesn’t Get Why The Kardashians Are Famous: “They Don’t Do Anything”
Eleven years after the Kardashian klan’s catapult to fame, Ozzy Osbourne is still unclear as to why the family is famous.

In a recent interview with The Big Issue, The Prince of Darkness opened up about his confusion, admitting that he asked his wife, Sharon, to explain the hype.

“I said to Sharon the other day, ‘What the f*ck is the deal with these Kardashians? They don’t sing, they don’t act, they don’t do anything.’” He revealed. “She told me, ‘The trend now is that people want to be celebrities and make money for doing f*cking nothing.’ And I was like, ‘Oh.’”

As he continued, Osbourne went on to wish the family well, explaining that all that mattered was their happiness.

“I mean, I don’t want to put them down and if i was to start slagging them off they would say, ‘So what?’ Good luck to them, if they’re happy with it then I’m fine with that.”

Sony Builds Out Spider-Man Universe With A Spider-Women Film
(Deadline): Sony Pictures is taking its Spider-Man universe into a new direction in a #MeToo moment where Wonder Woman is being followed by a growing number of female superheroes. The studio is working on an animated Spider-Women film that will focus on three generations of women with Spidey powers. Bek Smith will write the script.
One of these characters could very well be Spider-Gwen, a breakout character from the Spider-Verse. This all builds on the buzz preceding the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Amy Pascal will produce, and it’s likely that Avi Arad and Phil Lord & Christopher Miller will also be involved as will Christina Steinberg.

The studio is also already moving forward on a Spider-Verse sequel that will continue Miles Morales’ story. Joaquim Dos Santos will direct.
Smith is rewriting an untitled LEGO movie for Rideback and Warner Bros and most recently she worked on production rewrites on Captain Marvel, this after spending a year in the Marvel Writer program. She is repped by Verve and Kaplan/Perrone.

LL Cool J Reportedly Sues Concert Promotion Company Over ‘Rock the Bells’
LL Cool J is embroiled in a legal battle, attempting to stop promoters of a US hip-hop festival from trademarking the name of one of his songs.
According to The Blast reports,  LL Cool J says the concert promoter and its founder, Chang Weisberg, filed to trademark “Rock the Bells” back in 2004. LL released a song called “Rock the Bells” in 1985 and launched a SiriusXM hip-hop channel named Rock The Bells Radio earlier this year.

He claims Guerilla filed for the trademark without his permission to use for a hip-hop music festival, which launched in 2004 and ran through 2013.
The rapper says he petitioned the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to cancel all of Guerilla Union’s trademarks, which the board granted last year.

Despite the board’s decision, he says the concert promoter continues to try and trademark the name for various purposes.

LL Cool J is demanding a judge grant an injunction prohibiting the promoter from using the mark and for unspecified damages.

Bobby Brown Sues Showtime, BBC for Appearance in Whitney Houston Documentary
Back in August, Showtime released Whitney Houston documentary entitled Can I Be Me?

Directors Nick Broomfield and Rudi Dolezal weave never before seen video, candid interviews and behind the scenes performance footage into a raw and uncensored portrait of Whitney Houston, who died suddenly at age 48 after years of struggling with addiction. Exploring her far-reaching impact, the directors focus on Houston’s central dilemma: even though she had made millions of dollars and was recognized as having one of the greatest voices of all time, she still couldn’t do what she wanted, either professionally or in her personal life.
Bobby Brown filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Showtime and the BBC over their film Whitney: Can I Be Me.

According to reports, “The film contains footage that Brown and Bobbi Kristina Brown has never consented to have released,” states the complaint. “Brown and BKB appear in the film for a substantial period of time, in excess of thirty (30) minutes. The footage was actually recorded prior to the divorce in 2007 between Brown and Houston. Brown never signed or executed a release for the airing of the material that appears in the film. The footage of Brown is approximately fifteen (15) years old.”

Brown claims that the film amounts to a misappropriation of publicity rights as well as a violation of the Lanham Act.

Although the lawsuit states that filmmakers usually obtain releases from those who speak on camera, the First Amendment provides a broad defense to works of expressive speech. Nevertheless, in a complaint that alleges filmmakers tried without success to get an interview with Mr. Brown, he will attempt to overcome such free speech impediments. For instance, Brown’s lawsuit discusses how his name, persona, and likeness were utilized by producers in marketing and promotion of the film.

10 Suspects Charged Over Series of Burglaries That Included Rihanna, Yasiel Puig, Christina Milian
Last month, Police arrested Jshawne Lamon Daniels, 19, Tyress Lavon Williams, 19, and Damaji Corey Hall, 18, after they were pulled over on Sept. 27 in South Los Angeles after allegedly robbing Los Angeles Rams receiver Robert Woods’ home in Woodland Hills.

LAPD alleges that the suspects were also responsible for the recent burglaries of homes belonging to Rihanna and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig and Christina Milian as well as her boyfriend French singer Matthieu “M. Pokora” Tota.

Here’s an update on the situation. Court documents show 10 alleged gang members face felony charges in connection with a series of burglaries that targeted the Los Angeles homes of celebrities including Rihanna, Dodgers star Yasiel Puig and Rams wide receiver Robert Woods.

City News Service reports Tuesday that the men are charged with conspiracy and numerous other counts including burglary and home-invasion robbery.
Police announced four arrests at a news conference in October where they displayed recovered items including handbags, jewelry and cellphones.
Three of those four were released pending further investigation — and two of them were re-arrested and are among those charged.

Investigators found a list of additional targets that included Lebron James and Matt Damon.

Officials say the victims were chosen when their social media postings and schedules indicated they’d be away from home.

‘The Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin’s Detroit mansion sells for Only $300K!
DETROIT — A historic Detroit mansion owned by late singing legend Aretha Franklin has been sold.
The Detroit News reports that, according to public records, the 5,600-square-foot brick home adjacent to the Detroit Golf Club fetched $300,000 in a sale last month. It was built in 1927.
The newspaper reports Franklin bought the home in 1993 but nearly lost it in 2008 due to unpaid property taxes.

Franklin estate personal representative Sabrina Garrett-Owens says “there are no other Detroit properties” that were owned by the Queen of Soul.
Her 4,148-square-foot Colonial-style house in suburban Detroit’s Bloomfield Township still is listed for $800,000.

Franklin died of pancreatic cancer in August in her Detroit riverfront apartment. She was 76.

Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley’s son Greyson diagnosed with autism
Jenni “JWoww” Farley opened up about son Greyson’s recent autism diagnosis, telling Hollywood Life he has “made leaps and bounds when it comes to speech.”
“He has co-therapies [every] week but we’re going to step it up a notch soon and get him ABA [Applied Behavior Analysis] treatments, speech therapy,” the “Jersey Shore” star explained.

“He’s understanding words better which was his issue. Not that he couldn’t speak, but he would never know what his shoe is or if you said, ‘Greyson,’ he actually didn’t even know his name at one point until he was a little over two,” she revealed.
Farley, 32, initially discussed her 2-year-old son’s struggles during the premiere episode of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” earlier this year.
“To find out Greyson is ‘behind’ or ‘delayed’ crushed me … but only for a moment … that moment came from wanting to have ‘perfect children’ and ‘how could this happen to me?’… but Grey is PERFECT and it CAN happen to anyone,” Farley wrote on Instagram at the time.

The mother of two, who also shares daughter Meilani, 4, with estranged husband Roger Mathews, remains hopeful about Greyson’s progress.

“It was really heartbreaking and frustrating as a mom when you see other two-year-olds that are speaking and living their best life,” Farley explained. “Greyson is living his best life. He just doesn’t know what you are saying!”

A rep for Farley did not immediately return our request for comment.

Disgraced Gymnastics Doctor Larry Nassar Pens Letter from Prison Begging to Avoid Deposition from Aly Raisman
Convicted sex offender Larry Nassar wants no part in a deposition conducted by the legal team of Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman and is requesting that a judge shut down the potential grilling from behind bars.
On November 26, the former Team USA gymnastics doctor wrote a letter (in all caps) to the federal judge presiding over Raisman’s ongoing civil lawsuit against Nassar, and others who she is holding responsible for the repeated abuse of scores of gymnasts.

He filed the letter in response to Raisman’s request to allow her to take his deposition while he serves very hard time in Coleman, FL.
Nassar argues that he is still currently appealing the 60-year prison sentence and as a result would invoke his fifth amendment privilege, if he were ordered to appear for Raisman’s deposition, making it clear he wouldn’t answer a single question.

The letter ends with signatures from both “Larry Nassar” and “Lawrence Nassar.”
As we reported, Raisman is seeking information about “where Nassar’s molests occurred, how many times, who knew about those molests, when those individuals learned about those molests.”
She plans to use the information acquired from Nassar to continue litigation against the other defendants in the case, including the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics.

The judge has yet to decide on whether Raisman can depose Nassar in the case.
