See pics from Miss Piggy in The Muppet Christmas Carol
Look at Mrs. Emily Cratchit portrayed by Miss Piggy (Frank Oz) in 1992’s The Muppet Christmas Carol, directed by Brian Henson. It is to Miss Piggy’s credit that she agreed to a relatively small role in which she only gets to wear one costume and that costume is distressingly free of feathers, sequins or diamonds.
At least she gets to change out of her shawl and apron and put a nicer cap on her head. It would seem silly to try and devise any sort of hidden meanings from this costume. It’s a straightforward Victorian period piece, refitted for an anthropomophized pig and it accomplishes that strange task very well. LOL!

#RHOA: Porsha Williams Just Took a Huge Step with Her Girlfriend, Patrice "Sway" McKinney

The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member clarified her relationship status just days after going Instagram official with her new girlfriend, Patrice "Sway" McKinney. Porsha dished on the budding romance in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, revealing the big step she and Patrice took during the holidays.

“Thanksgiving came around, she was like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna cater,’ and I was like, ‘You know, me, too,’” Porsha recalled. “We were coming back from Miami, and I was like, ‘Let’s just do it together!’ So we did. We got our families together. We had a bomb Thanksgiving. When I tell you, we had a ball — we were karaoke-ing, playing games, eating good food. It just all felt good.”

Porsha Williams has been dating Patrice "Sway" McKinney for "a while"
Porsha told the outlet she had been dating the salon founder “for a while,” but did not provide an exact timeframe. She teased the same-sex relationship during an October 5 CultureCon panel in Brooklyn, saying she was involved with a man and a woman at the time.

“I think, before, I had mentioned, ‘He is nice, and she is nice,’” Porsha said, referring to her CultureCon comments. “So, I started to focus more on her. And, so, we were dating pretty solid.”
Fast-forward to Thanksgiving, when Porsha decided to hard-launch the romance in celebration of Patrice’s special day.

“Her birthday was the next day, and I was like, ‘I want to post for her birthday,’” Porsha explained. “And the picture was just so sweet… How could I resist?”
The Atlanta Housewife shared a carousel that showed her and Patrice packing on the PDA before hitting the town.
“Happiest Birthday [Patrice],” she captioned the post. “Hope this year continues to bring you everything you want and more! Can’t wait to act up saturday!”

“Damn babe. Sweet af,” Patrice wrote in the comments section. “Thank you again!”
Are Porsha Williams and Patrice "Sway" McKinney exclusive?
Porsha Williams is a guest at Watch What Happens Live in New York City on March 4, 2025.
While it’s clear things are getting increasingly serious between the lovebirds, Porsha has not put a label on the relationship. She told ET that she and Patrice were “very close” and “definitely still dating.”

Although the Georgia native said she and her girlfriend are “exclusive,” she insisted they were taking things slow.
"I don’t want to put too much pressure on it. You know, I move really fast,” she said before joking about her and Patrice’s future. “The next time you see me, I might be engaged, OK?”

#NewMusic from Dawn Richard ‘A Flex’
Dawn Richard is back. The Danity Kane alum has released her new single “A Flex” via Merge Records.
On the Katalyst Collective production, Richard confidently flaunts her bedroom skills that keep her man coming back for more. “I’m a very freaky girl / I keep it in the pocket when I twirl / Move it all around / Tilt-a-whirl / You ain’t gotta leave my world,” she sings.

Speaking on “A Flex,” Richard notes, “The track is the kind of confidence that only I can give in my records. Dipped in legacy, the kind of flex that comes from survival, culture, and craft.”
She adds, “It signals a new album on the way, one that continues my mission of building worlds through sound, movement, and memory.”

“A Flex” arrives with a conceptually minimalistic visualizer directed by Richard and Zildjian. Filmed in a stark, brutalist room with steel-gray walls and a crimson floor, a lone Richard performs a freestyled number that takes the song’s meaning to new heights.
“A Flex” is Richard’s first single since releasing her joint album with multi-instrumentalist Spencer Zahn, Quiet in a World Full of Noise, in October 2024.
Speaking on the album’s title track, Richard told Rated R&B, “‘Quiet in a World Full of Noise’ is one of those songs that feels deeply personal to me. In a world that never stops moving, where everyone’s vying for attention and the noise is constant, I wanted to create something that felt like a breath—like a moment to just be still.”

Before that, Richard and Zahn released their first joint album, Pigments, in 2022. Richard’s last solo album, Second Line, dropped in April 2021. In 2023, she treated her fans to a three-track EP, The Architect.
Most recently, Richard teamed with Teedra Moses on “Outta My Head (Reimagined)” from her Complex Simplicity (Reimagined) EP.

#HipHopNews: Ja Rule Calls 50 Cent A “Dry Snitch” Over Diddy Doc

Ja Rule ripped into longtime rival 50 Cent over the rapper’s involvement in the Netflix docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, accusing him of hypocrisy and calling him a “dry snitch” for spotlighting Diddy’s alleged misconduct while ignoring his own history.
The Queens native didn’t mince words on social media, writing, “N#### always telling on somebody…ol dry snitch ass n####!!! #SYBAU.”

He followed up with a pointed message about 50 Cent’s motivations behind the project: “Let’s be real that n#### dgaf about the victims we ALL know why he did the doc… Herman’s a cancer to the culture if he cares so much then donate the profits to charities for domestic violence…”
Ja Rule also took a direct shot at 50 Cent’s past, referencing a 2013 domestic violence case involving the rapper and his ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy.
“I’m not condoning Diddy’s behavior, I’m showcasing Herman’s character…” he added. “Hermans no different… ALLEGEDLY!!!”

The Netflix docuseries, which 50 Cent executive-produced, dives into decades of allegations against Diddy, including claims of abuse, intimidation and misconduct in both his personal life and business dealings.
The series features interviews with former Bad Boy Records staff, alleged victims and industry insiders. While some viewers applauded the documentary for amplifying survivors’ voices, others questioned its timing and intent.

Diddy’s legal team dismissed the series as a “shameful” attack and accused 50 Cent of exploiting the situation out of personal spite. They also raised concerns about the inclusion of confidential footage, including strategy meetings with Diddy’s lawyers, which they claim was never cleared for public release.
Netflix and the filmmakers maintain that all materials used in the series were obtained legally.

The feud between Ja Rule and 50 Cent has stretched across more than two decades, rooted in both personal grievances and professional competition. Their animosity has played out in diss tracks, interviews, and social media spats since the early 2000s.
Ja Rule’s latest criticism centers on what he sees as hypocrisy. In 2013, 50 Cent was charged in Los Angeles with domestic violence and vandalism after an incident at Daphne Joy’s condo.

Prosecutors alleged he kicked down her door, destroyed property worth thousands and kicked her during an argument. He was charged with one count of domestic violence and four counts of vandalism.
Later that year, Jackson avoided trial by pleading no contest to a reduced misdemeanor vandalism charge. The domestic violence count was dropped. He was sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to complete community service and pay fines, and was issued a stay-away order protecting Joy.

In March 2024, Joy accused Jackson of rape and abuse during their relationship in a social media post. Jackson denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit in Texas, claiming her statements were false and tied to a custody dispute over their son. The case was dismissed without prejudice in September, meaning it could be refiled.
Ja Rule’s call for 50 Cent to donate proceeds from the docuseries to domestic violence charities adds another layer to their ongoing battle. As of now, Jackson has not publicly responded to the demand.

“Hermans no different… ALLEGEDLY!!!,” Ja Rule concluded his tirade. While Rule’s intention may have been good, many took aim at him for supporting Diddy under any circumstances.
“Awww all of this for Diddy? Do you miss his freak offs?” one user wrote sarcastically. Another said, “Don’t do this, Ja, you really don’t have to get involved. You have been living graciously in hip hop for years, this is a bad idea to get down in the dirt with Diddy & 50.”

#RIP: ‘Mortal Kombat’ Star Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa Has Died At 75

Actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, best known for his role in the Mortal Kombat film has died at the age of 75 from complications due to a stroke, his agent, Margie Weiner, confirmed to the Associated Press in an emailed statement on Thursday (December 4).
The Tokoyo-born performer was best known for his role as Shang Tsung in multiple Mortal Kombat projects, including the 1995 movie, as well as on TV and video games. He also played roles in films including “Pearl Harbor,” “Planet of the Apes,” “47 Ronin,” “Elektra” and “Memoirs of a Geisha.”

Tagawa’s last major role came in 2015, when he played one of the lead characters in Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle. His final role was voicing Eiji the Swordmaker in Season 1 of Netflix’s animated Blue Eye Samurai.

His manager, Margie Weiner, spoke about their client-relationship turning into a familial one, per Variety. “I had the privilege of representing Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa for many years as his long time manager, but our relationship grew into something far deeper — he became like family. Cary was a rare soul: generous, thoughtful, and endlessly committed to his craft. His loss is immeasurable. My heart is with his family, friends, and all who loved him.”

Born in Tokyo to an actress mother and Japanese American father who served in the military, Tagawa attended high school near Los Angeles, where he first started acting, and then attended USC. He began teaching his own style of martial arts called Chu Shin.
He is survived by his children Calen, Byrnne and Cana, and two grandchildren, River and Thea Clayton.

Gayle King Has Decided to Leave ‘CBS Mornings’ In 2026
It is confirmed that Gayle King will step away from her daily co-anchor role on “CBS Mornings” when her contract ends in May 2026.
The new update arrives weeks after rumors swirled that King would be leaving her role. The mistaken reports originated from a piece in Variety, which claimed that King, 70, might transition into a different role at CBS — possibly producing her own programming — when her current agreement ends.  CBS News quickly denied the claim, saying no discussions had happened about her contract.

In an update from NewsNation, King, whose been a mainstay on the show since its 2012, will transition to a new role focused on special projects and interviews.
”She will technically stay with the network,” a source said. “Gayle will do special projects and bigger interviews — like what Diane Sawyer and Hoda Kotb do (for ABC and NBC, respectively).”

She will work on feature projects rather than appearing on air every weekday. This lets CBS continue benefiting from her star power without locking her into daily hosting duties.
According to a RadarOnline.com, CBS boss Bari Weiss wants Gayle King to tap more into a industry connections for the network. Insiders claimed Weiss thinks King is “wasting her connections” by not sharing gossip about her A-list friends.

“Bari is obsessed with pop culture,” a senior staffer told Hollywood insider Rob Shuter. “She thinks Gayle is wasting her connections.”
“Beyoncé, Kris Jenner, Jeff Bezos, Meghan Markle — Gayle is the only journalist invited into these rooms, and she brings none of it back to the audience.”
While King has developed a reputation for fiercely guarding the relationships she’s formed over decades in the entertainment business, she’s said to be “resistant but listening” to Weiss’ suggestions.

CBS Mornings is currently a distant third place among the major networks, having averaged just 1.8million viewers in the week ending October 20.
King has brought prestige to the network and valuable ties with Oprah via the pair’s decades-long friendship

#BoxOfficeNews: ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ scares up 63 Million to top the weekend box office

"Five Nights at Freddy’s 2" kicked off what is expected to be a strong December box office. Ryan Green/Universal Pictures
Sequels are the gift that keeps on giving for Hollywood this holiday season.
Universal Pictures’ “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” zoomed past Disney’s “Zootopia 2” to take the top spot at the weekend box office. The video game adaptation grossed an estimated $63 million domestically.

“Freddy’s 2” blew past estimates that it would earn as much as $55 million. The first “Freddy’s” movie, based on the video game series with jump-scaring animatronics, opened in 2023 to $80 million and finished with $137.3 million domestically — the highest-grossing horror movie that year.

The “Zootopia” sequel finished No. 2 this weekend with $43 million to raise its domestic gross to about $220 million since opening last weekend.
“After a lot of hand-wringing over the October box office, which was a decades-low result, there’s no better way to start December for movie theaters,” said Paul Dergarabedian, head of marketplace trends at Comscore.

And Universal Pictures’ “Wicked: For Good,” the sequel to last year’s blockbuster, finished third overall with $16.75 million. The musical fantasy film is closing in on $300 million at the domestic box office.
It’s not just sequels that are luring audiences to theaters. The horror genre has driven wins at the box office this year, with Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Sinners,” “The Conjuring: Last Rites” and “Weapons,” alongside Universal’s “Black Phone 2” and Sony Pictures’ “28 Years Later.” Warner Bros. Discovery is the parent company of CNN.

Altogether, this year’s horror titles could earn $2.65 billion in total, which is roughly 14% of Hollywood’s worldwide business, according to David A. Gross, who publishes industry newsletter FranchiseRe.
Rounding out the weekend box office was “Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution” — a GKids compilation of its Season 2 arc and kicking off the third season — which finished fourth with $10.15 million. “Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution’s” compilation format could be “easier to digest” for new audiences, noted Shawn Robbins, director of analytics at Fandango and founder of analytics firm Box Office Theory.

“This is one of the most eclectic movie marketplaces I’ve ever seen,” said Dergarabedian.
Earnings this weekend totaled a better-than-expected $154 million domestic weekend, according to Comscore. It’s a good sign for the final month of the year as Hollywood crosses its fingers in hopes of reaching the $9 billion earnings mark. Since the pandemic of 2020, the box office has only reached that total in 2023, the year of “Barbenheimer.”

Disney’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is expected to provide an additional boost. It opens on December 19, alongside Lionsgate Films’ “Housemaid” and Paramount Pictures’ “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.”
Robbins noted that “Housemaid” could be a sleeper holiday hit and part of what he called an “interesting trio of openers” with broad audience appeal.

“To see another major female-driven movie out there during peak movie-going season, is really important,” he said, noting “Avatar” can draw a male-centered audience and “SpongeBob” can draw a family audience.
Movies opening on Christmas Day will also provide a boost, such as A24’s wide release of “Marty Supreme,” Focus Features’ “Song Sung Blue” and Sony’s “Anaconda.”

“The 9 billion mark could be a challenge to reach. That’s no easy task … but I’m cautiously optimistic,” said Dergarabedian.

Russell Wilson Mom CHECKS Trevone Boykin For Calling Russ Weird & Dissing Future Jr.

Last month Trevone Boykins went viral after branding Russell and Ciara Wilson 'weird' because none of Russell's family were present on Thanksgiving when he was invited to dinner

Trevone issues an apology...In the new episode of Trevone's podcast he explains, "Aye look, I'm a kid from Dallas Tx, right? I come from a traditional household when it comes to family...I came from shxt, and so when it come to Thanksgiving and the reason I said what I said, is because when we had a little bit of nothing we still came together as a family."

"That's the way that I was raised. That's the way that I always seen it. So when I seen something a little bit different it was that to me. It was different. Now I probably could have articulated it a lot better than what I did and I could have gave a little bit more context than what I did. I do want to issue an apology, whether my co-host agrees or not."
"They didn't wake up and ask for that, Russ, Ciara, and especially baby Future."

Judge denies Cardi B accuser new trial after the rapper tossed a pen outside of court

A Los Angeles judge has sided with Cardi B and denied Emani Ellis, the security guard who unsuccessfully sued the rapper for assault in September, a new trial.

Ellis previously alleged that Cardi had assaulted her in a hallway of a Beverly Hills obstetrician’s office, which the rapper attended while attempting to conceal a pregnancy in 2018. Months ago, Cardi told jurors she made an effort to hide the medical visit because she didn’t want to announce she was expecting her first child with Migos and solo star Offset at that time, but claimed Ellis was recording her and blew her cover.

While she admitted that the pair got into a “verbal altercation”, she denied that she assaulted Ellis, who alleged her cheek was cut with a three-inch nail and she was spat on, leaving her “deeply traumatised”.
After deliberating for less than an hour, the jury came to a quick verdict in the rapper’s favour. Following that lawsuit being rejected, Ellis asked for a new trial, arguing that Cardi had “intimidated” jurors by throwing a pen at a reporter while talking to the media.

Cardi’s lawyers called Ellis’ request “baseless” and “absurd”, and said it should be “rejected out of hand.” At a court hearing on Friday (December 5), Judge Ian C. Fusselman rejected the pen-toss argument and finalised a ruling that denied Ellis a new trial, per Rolling Stone.
“Even if plaintiff had provided sufficient evidence of these asserted facts,” the judge wrote, “the court finds unpersuasive the speculation that defendant’s purported action of throwing a pen could have ‘intimidated’ the jurors into finding against Plaintiff given the nature of Plaintiff’s claims.”

One issue unresolved by Friday’s hearing was regarding the conduct of Ellis’ attorney Rosen Janfaza, who Cardi’s lawyers asked the judge to punish for alleged misconduct during the trial, including by asking the musician on the witness stand if she had any gang affiliations. Judge Fusselman did not decide that issue yesterday, but is expected to do so in the coming weeks.

The September trial spurned several viral clips of Cardi on the witness stand delivering several funny quips, often pausing to make bemused faces in her cross-examination and delivering dry one-liners about the alleged incident.
In one video, she was seen being asked how she knew Ellis was physically bigger than her, to which she responded by pointing towards her own eyes. She then flipped her hair over her shoulder with pride and told the courtroom she was “130 pounds at that time”, another line that got a lot of response on social media.

Elsewhere, the attorney questioned how her hair had changed from a cropped black wig the day before to a long blonde and then black wig.
“Yesterday you had black hair, short hair. Today it’s blonde and long. Which one is your real hair? Or are they both real?” he asked her.
She laughed before clarifying they were wigs, to which the lawyer responded: “Okay. Sorry, I didn’t know that. It’s a good wig today, then.”

At the time, that line of questioning led many on social media to question the apparent misogynistic and racial undertone of his approach, particularly in light of comments made about her wig and the length of her fake nails.

CNN's Kaitlan Collins Responds After Trump Calls Her 'Stupid & Nasty' for Asking About White House Ballroom Project
Kaitlan Collins is responding to Donald Trump. The 79-year-old President of the United States went on yet another rant on his social media platform Truth Social, this time attacking the 33-year-old CNN journalist for looking into the cost of hisWhite House ballroom project.

“Caitlin Collin’s [sic] of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty, asked me why the new Ballroom was costing more money than originally thought one year ago. I said because it is going to be double the size, and the quality of finishes and interiors has been brought to the highest level,” he whined.

“Also, the column SPAN has been substantially increased for purposes of viewing. It is actually under budget and ahead of schedule, as my jobs always are. It’s just much bigger and more beautiful than originally planned. Interestingly, and seldom reported, there are no taxpayer dollars involved. It is being fully paid for by private donations. FAKE NEWS CNN, and the guy who runs the whole corrupt operation that owns it, is one of the worst in the business. Their ratings are so low that they’re not even counted or relevant anymore. MAGA!!!”

Kaitlan shared Trump’s message in an Instagram Story and captioned the post: “Technically my question was about Venezuela.”
If you didn’t know, Trump‘s administration bombed alleged drug vessels in the Caribbean sea and called for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to step down amid rising tensions.

On Friday’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins, Kaitlan reported the White House hired a new architect for the project after the president clashed with the person originally on the job.
She also played a clip from her interview with Trump at The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, per The Wrap.

On December 5, she asked Trump about his threats against Venezuela following his peace prize award from FIFA.
“Mr. President, what would you say to people who say that prize might conflict with your pledge to strike Venezuela?” she asked.
In response, Trump said he ended “eight wars and we have a ninth coming … which nobody’s ever done before.”

“But I want to really save lives. I don’t need prizes. I need to save lives. And we’re saving a lot of lives. I’ve saved millions and millions of lives. And that’s really what I want to do. And I also want to run a great country. And the United States right now is the hottest country anywhere in the world.”

Cher Ready To Marry in 2026 — Source

Cher may be ready to marry and be a bride to her boyfriend, with people close to her claiming she has never felt more sure of what she wants. As her 80th birthday approaches in May, reports claim the music icon plans to marry her boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards, the 39‑year‑old music executive she has been with since late 2022. Regarding the age gap, she reportedly does not care about it.

Cher doesn’t give a ‘hoot’ about her and her boyfriend’s age gap, claims insider
According to PageSix via The Mirror, an insider claimed that Cher feels confident about her relationship with her boyfriend, and “doesn’t give a hoot about their [40-year] age difference.” The source further claimed that “they’re both ready to commit to each other.” They added, “She sees her upcoming celebration at turning 80 as the perfect time for her and Alexander to seal the deal.”

Cher’s rep told PageSix that the report from The Sun is “not true.” But even with the denial, the interest has not slowed down. During her appearance on CBS Mornings in November, she brushed off criticism when Gayle King asked about the public reaction to their ages. “Whatever,” Cher said, adding that, “They’re not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us, but we just have a blast.” She also shared something Edwards often told her about getting older: “You know, you get older, but your spirit is younger.”

Moreover, Cher said, “I just love him.” She gushed, “I think he’s beautiful. He’s really talented. He’s one of the most talented persons I’ve ever met.” The couple first sparked headlines in November 2022 after being photographed holding hands in Los Angeles. Days later, she spoke directly to fans on social media, writing on X, “Let Me Explain… I DONT GIVE A [flying] FK WHAT ANYONE THINKS.” She added, “Haters are Gonna Hate… Doesn’t Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone.”

By March 2023, the two made their red carpet debut at the Versace fall show, arriving together and sharing a kiss in front of photographers.

Keith Urban & JLo Have Reportedly Reconnected After Their Divorces?

Sometimes Hollywood gives us the strangest couple pairings. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were always one of those couples, with the country star and the Oscar-winning actress seeming like total opposites. And if we’re being honest, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were always another duo we didn’t imagine together until it happened. And now, from the ashes of those two divorces, could we get another unlikely relationship?

Reports indicate Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban might be getting closed amid their divorces. Yes, you read that right. “J.Lo reached out to Keith as soon as she found out he and Nicole had split up, she wanted to offer her support and check in,” insiders told Heat World UK. “A lot of people did that for her when she and Ben broke up and it meant everything to her. It’s been more than a year now and she’s still hurting over her divorce so she’s very sensitive to anyone going through the end of a marriage.”

Sources also added, “Keith has been so grateful for her support, a lot of people have shunned him in favour of Nicole so J.Lo’s kindness is highlighted. She knows what a good heart he has and thinks it’s horrendous that he is having to deal with all these attacks on his character.”
Urban and Lopez have reportedly been friends since their time as judges on American Idol, which went from Season 13 to Season 15. “They always shared a lot of laughs back in the Idol days, and that fun rapport is there just as strong as ever, to the point where people are even starting to wonder if something more might have sparked.”

However, romance rumors aside, insiders indicate it’s all “platonic.” In fact, they said, “They’re mostly sending each other encouraging messages and funny memes, but that hasn’t stopped people from seeing the potential for something more here.”
Recent reports about Urban’s love life indicate he is already dating someone, even if it’s not Lopez. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”

And according to Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop Urban was the one who decided to end the marriage. “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider told the journalist, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”

Lopez, meanwhile, is single these days, though RadarOnline.com recently reported that the singer and actress has stayed in touch with Affleck’s kids, Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13, arranging for them to hang out with her own children, Max and Emme, 17. “That’s gone a long way with Ben’s kids, and what they’d like more than anything, as would J.Lo’s kids, is to see Bennifer 3.0,” a source said.

Seems unlikely, but this is Hollywood, so who knows what couple will get back together or what new one try a romance next.

Kelly Rowland celebrates father’s first time seeing her perform with touching song dedication
Kelly Rowland’s father saw her perform live for the first time during her Atlanta tour stop.
The performance included a personal dedication of “Dilemma” to her father, Christopher Lovett.
Their reunion in 2018 followed decades of estrangement and has since led to public moments of healing.

Kelly Rowland had a full-circle moment in Atlanta last week. While performing as an opener on Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” the R&B star paused her set to acknowledge a face she once didn’t allow anywhere near the stage — her father, Christopher Lovett. Thursday, Dec. 4, marked the first time he had ever seen her perform live.

Rowland dedicated “Dilemma” to him as he watched from the audience alongside her son. “I love and need and want you, daddy,” she sang to him. It was a quiet, emotional moment posted by Tina Knowles, who has long referred to Rowland as her “other daughter.”
“WOW, I am in tears looking at this. They are tears of joy. It was my prayer that @kellyrowland would someday reunite with her dad. She did a few years ago. They are so happy with each other. This is truly a joy to see,” Knowles wrote on Instagram.

The shout-out carried even more weight because the 44-year-old once made sure Lovett couldn’t get anywhere near venues where Destiny’s Child was performing. In a 2022 appearance on “Today,” which REVOLT previously covered, Rowland explained how deep her hurt ran during their decades-long estrangement. She admitted she was so upset that she instructed security to keep him out. "For as long as I can remember, it was me and my mom. My understanding of where my dad was as a kid was that he was not really ready as a father," she began in an interview. "I was angry at him. I was disappointed in him. I had all of those feelings of abandonment. I think as a kid, you just feel like if they're not there, they don't want to be here. So that's what I felt, and that feeling sucked.”

Lovett shared his side of that pain during the conversation. “People used to tell me, ‘I saw your daughter,’ and I used to sit there and say, ‘Well, I didn’t,’ and it used to hurt,” he told the host at the time. “So when Kelly started performing in certain places, I followed her. And when I did go to a couple of places, I didn’t get a chance to see her because security wouldn’t let me see her. It was sad really… I wanted to tell Kelly that I love her and that I never gave her up.”

The Atlanta-born and Houston-raised singer said becoming a mother shifted something in her. After giving birth to her first son, Titan, she began wondering whether healing with her father was possible, especially while grieving the loss of her own mother, Doris Rowland Garrison, who died three weeks after Titan was born. She eventually asked JAY-Z for advice, recalling, “He said, ‘Love is all about risk. You gotta decide if you’re gonna jump.’ … ‘Are you gonna jump?’” Her answer, she explained, was yes.

Their reunion happened in 2018 at an Atlanta hotel, where they talked for two hours. “I can only imagine what it felt like to have everything that you want to say for so many years to your child. I just allowed him the space, and it was incredible,” she told “Today.” “Underneath all of the disappointment and hurt and anger and fear, that’s somebody you love.” She continued, “I had to give my dad grace… It’s never too late. Forgiveness is always right there.”

How Kelly Rowland and her father’s relationship rebuilt over time
Rowland has been open on social media about what reconnecting has meant to her. In a Father’s Day post shared in 2020, she wrote about their first meeting after “30 years of not seeing him, not speaking to him,” revealing her anxiety, the healing that followed, and the joy of finally hearing her father tell her she was “smart and beautiful.” She ended the message with, “I love you, daddy, and love being your little girl… even at 39! Lol. P.S. We are making up for lost time, and when I tell you, him telling me how smart and beautiful I am... will never get old!

CONGRATS! Quilen Blackwell Named 2025 CNN Hero of the Year

Quilen Blackwell honored for blooming change in Chicago. In a powerful celebration of urban transformation, Quilen Blackwell has been named the 2025 CNN Hero of the Year. His work converting empty lots into flower farms has brought jobs, joy, and justice to Chicago’s South Side.

Blackwell, 40, received the award during the “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute” broadcast on Dec. 6. Hosted by Anderson Cooper and Laura Coates, the event celebrated changemakers across the globe.
Southside Blooms gives youth jobs and purpose Blackwell co-founded Southside Blooms, a nonprofit that transforms abandoned, overgrown lots into eco-friendly flower farms. The initiative offers paid jobs to at-risk youth ages 14 to 24, training them as florists, farmers, and entrepreneurs.

Using a “farm-to-vase” model, flowers are sold locally while the farms serve as tools for environmental restoration and community healing. Each site runs on solar power and is built with sustainability in mind.
“There’s amazing things in the inner cities,” Blackwell says
“There’s a lot of amazing things going on in the inner cities that is going to surprise a lot of people,” Blackwell shared in his heartfelt speech.

His words struck a chord with viewers worldwide. He emphasized that hope and opportunity can flourish in even the most overlooked places—especially when youth take the lead.
As the 2025 CNN Hero of the Year, Blackwell received $100,000 from CNN and an additional $50,000 from the Elevate Prize Foundation. All five finalists were awarded $10,000 plus matching donations.

Blackwell plans to expand Southside Blooms with the funding. More farms will mean more jobs, more flowers, and more opportunities for young people to thrive.
Blackwell’s journey started in Madison, Wisconsin, and led him to serve in the Peace Corps in Thailand. He later moved to Chicago for ministry school, where tutoring teens in Englewood changed his perspective.

He saw himself in the youth he worked with. “I started to just realize, I could be any one of these kids,” he said. Together with his wife, Hannah Bonham Blackwell, he launched Southside Blooms in 2015 to create sustainable jobs for young people.
“I don’t know how to make a bouquet,” he jokes

“Truth be told, I don’t know how to make a bouquet,” Blackwell said with a laugh. “They’re the ones who are leading the way.”
His humility and focus on empowering youth are at the heart of Southside Blooms. The organization teaches leadership, responsibility, and environmental stewardship—all through flowers.

The CNN Heroes event featured appearances from stars like Meryl Streep and musician Jon Batiste. It also honored 15-year-old environmentalist Cash Daniels as Young Wonder and gave a Legacy Award to the late Robert Redford.
The tribute is available to stream on CNN+ and other connected platforms. It’s a yearly tradition celebrating everyday people who change lives in extraordinary ways.
Blackwell was joined by four other 2025 finalists, each of whom received financial and public support for their work. Their causes range from animal rescue to food distribution and prison writing programs.

Tim Woodward: Rescued over 10,000 animals through large-scale emergency response efforts.
Hillary Cohen: Redistributes surplus food to hungry families across Connecticut.
Anonymous: Runs a creative writing program for incarcerated people seeking healing.
Anonymous: Rebuilds struggling communities with youth jobs and revitalization projects.
Support Southside Blooms and help it grow

From forgotten lots to vibrant flower fields, Quilen Blackwell has planted more than flowers—he’s growing hope. His work proves that transformation is possible when communities invest in their youth.

Dave Chappelle’s Edmonton Show Goes Off the Rails
Edmonton, Canada, has probably seen the last of Dave Chappelle. That’s ’cause on December 3rd, over 18,000 fans packed into Rogers Place in Edmonton, expecting an unforgettable night of stand-up from Dave Chappelle. Well, they got unforgettable—just not in the way anyone hoped.

What started as classic Chappelle ended in hecklers, sound meltdowns, a mid-show fistfight, and the comedian counting down the minutes like he was trapped in jury duty.
Tickets ran up to $300, but the vibe by the end was less “premium arena comedy” and more “rowdy karaoke night at a bar with no AC.” And while the phones were locked up during the show, social media exploded the second fans got their devices back. Spoiler: Edmonton did not come out looking great.

Chappelle is no stranger to hecklers, but even he seemed rattled by the sheer volume of interruptions. Some people kept yelling that they couldn’t hear. Others just… yelled.
“More than once, he mentioned how much time he had left because the crowd would not Shut. The. F***. Up!” someone tweeted, according to Dexerto. Add to that a venue pushing 86°F (30°C), and suddenly this comedy show felt like a hostage situation with punchlines.

The tech issues didn’t help. The mic levels bounced from “blasting your eardrums” to “muffled drive-thru speaker.” And then, just when things couldn’t get messier, a joke about Charlie Kirk reportedly triggered an all-out fistfight in the stands.
Chappelle tried to power through, but between the heat, the hecklers, and the throwdown, he looked fully done. Like, “mentally already back in Vancouver,” done.

Once the phones were unlocked, the dragging began—and Edmonton got roasted by its own residents.
“Edmonton needs to learn how to watch a comedy show.”
“I’ve never been more ashamed of this city in my life.”
“Edmonton embarrassed itself in front of comedy royalty.”

One local radio host even dropped an apology song. Yes, a musical apology. When your city’s screw-up inspires original music, it’s officially bad.
Chappelle hasn’t said a word publicly—but the betting pool says he’s done with Alberta’s capital. And who could blame him?
Edmonton’s already the “middle child” of Canadian tour stops—less glamorous than Vancouver, less organized than Calgary. This meltdown won’t help that underdog reputation.
After Edmonton, Chappelle hit Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland with no major drama. No sound issues. No hecklers throwing hands. No countdown to escape. Just normal comedy shows where people laugh instead of shouting over the comedian they paid to see.

“The Stanley Cup is more likely than Dave Chappelle to return to Edmonton.” That X post pretty much nailed the public consensus.

The moral of this tragicomic tale? If you buy a ticket to see Dave Chappelle, maybe… actually let him talk.
Comedy doesn’t work if half the crowd is acting like they’re at an Oilers tailgate. Edmonton didn’t just fumble the bag—they dropkicked it, set it on fire, and then yelled over it.
At the end of the day, Chappelle will recover. He might even turn this disaster into material. Edmonton, on the other hand, will need time (and probably therapy) to recover from this one.
