The Daily Buzz For Oct 3

Michelle Obama stuns in Brandon Maxwell on cover of 'InStyle'
Style editors are going to miss Michelle Obama when she's gone — and two October magazine covers could be the proof: The first lady gleams on InStyle and on Essence, where she shares the spotlight with President Obama.
Plus, she gives a mighty boost to up-and-coming designer and Lady Gaga pal Brandon Maxwell, wearing one of his dresses for the Instyle cover and looking remarkably slender in it to boot.
The two Time Inc. titles produced lavish spreads and interviews inside the covers, suggesting that the Obama administration, while winding down, still has present and engaged leaders at the top.
The president talks about his legacy and what still needs doing. The first lady talks up one of her signature projects (girls' education), her savvy use of social media and her approach to fashion.  And she says she's proud that a generation of black children have grown up seeing someone who looks like them in the White House.
"I think over these last few years, we’ve kind of knocked the ceiling of limitation off the roofs of many young kids’ imaginations of what’s possible for them," she told Essence. "And as a mother, I wouldn’t underestimate how important that is ... I think that will be a lasting impact on our kids."

They’ve satisfied the ending to their time as America's first black first family with the opening of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History & Culture last week National Mall.

#RHoA: Flying While Black? RHOA’s Kandi Burruss Says She and Hubby Kicked Off Flight for No Reason
A ticket mix-up apparently got them tossed off.

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is urging folks not to fly Hawaiian Airlines after she claims she and her husband, Todd Tucker, were kicked off a flight for no legitimate reason.
The singer-songwriter and reality TV star took to Instagram yesterday to give her version of events.
“We were sitting in our seat & the gate ticketer came on & asked to see my ticket because it wasn’t showing up in their system. I gave him my ticket but it had our baggage claim checks on the back. He never brought it back & the plane started rolling off,” Burruss wrote.

“I asked the flight attendant where was my ticket & told him I needed the baggage claim ticket just in case my bags didn’t make the flight. The flight attendant left & came back & said the pilot was calling to check & then the next thing I know this lady comes on the plane & said she needed Todd & I to get off the plane because we caused some sort of commotion.”
“Everybody sitting around us was like what are they talking about!” she wrote. “This s–t is crazy.”
In a statement to the New York Daily News, Hawaiian Airlines said they did not remove Burruss and Tucker from the plane, but rather allowed them to get off the flight because “an irate member of their party” requested that the plane return to the gate.

The airline said the initial flight was delayed 45-minutes because of the ruckus. They also noted that Kandi, Todd and two other members of their party made the next Hawaiian Air flight to Honolulu.

50 Cent Fires Back at Jussie Smollett for Defending Taraji P. Henson
For the past two years, 50 Cent has been trading barbs with actress Taraji Henson over their respective shows. While 50 is spearheading his drug-laden show on STARZ with Power, Taraji and Terrence Howard are pushing forward with Empire on FOX.
After watching 50 pummel Taraji and Vivica A. Fox on his Instagram over which show is better, Empire star, Jussie Smollett attempted to take on the G-Unit general.
“What I don’t respect is how detrimental you don’t even realize (or perhaps just don’t care) you are,” Smollett wrote on his Instagram. “Do you realize how petty it is that you are a crab in a barrel? Do you realize the stereotype of this slave mentality that you are only further perpetuating,” he continued, also adding that with all of the black men and women dying at the hands of the police, the 50’s comments are even more petty.
“You’ve never heard me disrespect a woman not once,” Jussie wrote, also mentioning 50’s comments about Empire being “too gay.” “I hold up Taraji just as I hold up [Naturi Naughton]. So who is the real man? As men it’s our job to protect our women.”
Of course, with absolutely no regard for human life, 50 responded with a picture of Jussie kissing actor Rafael de La Fuente during a steamy scene from Empire.  “I can’t hear you, tha f*ck you say PUNK!!!,” 50 wrote in response.

New Hip Hop: The Game Feat. Jason Derulo – ‘Baby You’
In the midst of his ongoing Meek Mill feud, The Game makes love not war on the Jason Derulo-assisted “Baby You,” a cut off his upcoming album 1992.
Over an old school R&B instrumental, the Compton spitter opens up about his former fiancé, Tiffney Cambridge, and their VH1 reality TV series, “Marrying The Game.”

Although he promised that 1992 would have “#NoFeatures,” “Baby You” includes vocals from Jason Derulo, who handles the hook and the song’s third verse. Jeremih also appeared on “All Eyez,” the album’s bonus cut and lead single.

Naomi Campell Cast in Lee Daniels New Series
Naomi Campbell snags a recurring role in Lee Daniels new TV series 'Star...'
In the new series, about three girls clawing their way to the top of the music industry, Naomi plays the beautiful, wealthy and cultivated London-born mother of one of the girls.
But don't go in looking for this to be a prequel or sequel to Lee Daniels' hit series Empire.

Daniels tells Billboard Mag,
[Star] is the complete antithesis of Empire. I don’t know whether you ever saw the first 15 minutes of John Waters’ Female Trouble, but these girls will do whatever it takes. They’ll murder. They’ll f— you. They’ll rob you. [The characters] Star and Simone are very, very poor. They come from the foster-care system, and we explore the atrocities that happen there.
Starring Queen Latifah and transgender actress Amiyah Scott,  'Star' premiers on Fox early 2017.

Angelina Jolie Hires Real-Life D.C. Fixer Who Inspired ‘Scandal’s’ Olivia Pope For Brad Pitt Divorce
Angelina Jolie has hired legendary crisis manager Judy Smith – the real-life D.C. fixer who is the inspiration behind Scandal’s Olivia Pope, to handle her divorce from Brad Pitt.
“Judy has been asked to consult with those working with Angelina on divorce negotiations,” a source close to the situation tells PEOPLE. “Judy and her firm have a long history of handling issues that have unfortunately garnered too much attention in the public eye, and she knows how to push towards resolutions that are swift and discreet.”
Smith is currently the owner of Smith & Company, which is one of the most reputable crisis management firms in the United States. The 57-year-old is responsible for successfully helping a slew of high-profile celebrities in the past.

Her time working as a deputy press secretary in the White House inspired Kerry Washington‘s character Olivia Pope on Scandal, on which Smith is also a producer.

Da Hell? Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Isn’t Sure If He’s Voting For Donald Trump: He’s a friend of mine.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has made it clear that when it comes to politics, blacks were short changed by President Obama. Last month, he stated in an interview,
My number one thing, though, to be honest, is black people. I feel like we put President Obama in the White House. When I look back, I just wanted more done for my people because that’s the name of the game.
This is politics. You put somebody in office you get in return the things that you care about for your communities. I think we got a little bit shortchanged. That’s not knocking the president. …He’s done an excellent job, you know, but I think it’s time to turn up the heat because the black vote is going to decide who is the next president of the United States.
On whether or not Hillary is the best option, he said.
Hillary Clinton, you know, I hope she starts to directly talk to the black community…It really makes me feel, you know, almost hurt that our issues are not addressed and we’re such a big part of the voting bloc.
So it’s no surprise that Combs wants to weigh his options on who will get his vote.

While promoting his new fragrance last week in NYC Diddy, who calls presidential hopeful Donald Trump a ‘friend of mine‘, wasn’t ready to reveal who he’s voting for. He stated,
I always liked Donald’s style. I do have a tie he gifted me. I wear it.

He added, as far as voting for him, that has yet to be seen. I guess now that he got everybody’s coins for The Bad Boy Family reunion tour. This is his Thanks to you! #damnidiot

The Fast 8 star brought his girls along as he volunteered to serve healthy meals to children in Atlanta in conjunction with Feeding America’s annual Hunger Action Month campaign.

“What an amazing day, working in the community to teach kids the importance of healthy eating and bringing awareness to Hunger Action Month,” he said of the event. “One in six children face hunger in our country, now that’s Ludicrous. We do this because we are all family in one form or another.”

How did Alec Baldwin & Kate McKinnon do as Trump & Clinton on ‘SNL’?
Since I was in bed by 10:30 on a Saturday night – because I’m awesome – I had to watch the SNL season opening through clips online this morning. Margot Robbie was the season opening, but most people were excited to see what SNL would do with their political coverage. Last week, SNL released a promo of Alec Baldwin going into hair & makeup to become Donald Trump, and of course Kate McKinnon is still sticking with her manic, hilarious Hillary Clinton impression. So SNL gave people what they wanted: a cold open debate skit. Here you go: HERE

I thought this was funny, but not rolling on the floor laughter. Much like SNL’s 2008 skits involving Sarah Palin, the writers are pulling a lot of lines from the actual candidates, which brings a strange surrealism that’s almost scary. Alec Baldwin’s Trump is on point and it’s definitely one of the better Trump impersonations I’ve seen. I loved: “I think I’m going to be president” and “She is a strong, beautiful political prop who I almost forgot to mention tonight” and “They took my microphone to Kenya and broke it and now it’s broken.”
The other big political skit was the Family Feud skit, where they finally brought back the impeccable Daryl Hammond as Bill Clinton, plus Larry David as Bernie Sanders. Robbie played Ivanka Trump really well. Kate McKinnon played Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway really well too.

LOL!
