The Daily Buzz For July 8

Marvel’s New Iron Man is a Black Teenage Girl.
Meet Riri Williams. She’s a teen genius who attends MIT at the age of 15. She’s also Marvel’s new Iron Man. Williams attracts the attention of Tony Stark after building an Iron Man suit in her dorm.
According to TIME Magazine, Williams will likely operate under a different name, but is still working on it.

In an exclusive interview, Iron Man artist Stefano Caselli also touched on the ongoing issue of diversity in the Marvel universe.
Marvel Comics’ diverse new cast has stirred some controversy among a subset of fans.
Some of the comments online, I don’t think people even realize how racist they sound. I’m not saying if you criticize you’re a racist, but if someone writes, “Why do we need Riri Williams we already have Miles?” that’s a weird thing to say. They’re individuals just like Captain America and Cyclops are individuals. All I can do is state my case for the character, and maybe they’ll realize over time that that’s not the most progressive thinking.
But increasingly we see less and less of that. Once Miles hit, and Kamala Khan hit and female Thor hit—there was a part of an audience crawling through the desert looking for an oasis when it came to representation, and now that it’s here, you’ll go online and be greeted with this wave of love.
I think what’s most important is that the character is created in an organic setting. We never had a meeting saying, “we need to create this character.” It’s inspired by the world around me and not seeing that represented enough in popular culture.

Riri Williams has technically already been introduced in the Iron Man comics series, but only in a vague manner. It will be definitely be exciting to see what’s next for the character.

Oh? Cynthia Bailey Dating Rumors: RHOA Star Moving On From Peter Thomas With Chef Roble?
According to the rumor mill, Cynthia Bailey has a new man, and fans will get to see him on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" season nine.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans may see Cynthia Bailey with a new boo when the Bravo reality series returns for season nine.
As many fans are already aware, the model-turned-reality-star recently separated from her husband Peter Thomas after six years of marriage.
Throughout RHOA season eight, the couple’s relationship status had come into question numerous times after Cynthia’s estranged husband had been accused of being unfaithful by cast mate Porsha Williams. Only making matters worse, Cynthia caught wind of video footage of Peter being a little too friendly with an unknown woman at his new sports bar in Charlotte, N.C., which seemed to be the final straw for the couple.
In June, Cynthia announced her separation from Peter officially, revealing the bar owner now “lives in Charlotte” while she remains in Atlanta.

Despite their split, fans shouldn’t expect to see a sad Cynthia when RHOA returns with season nine, especially if the latest rumors about the reality star are true.
According to the rumor mill, Cynthia may have already moved on to someone new.
MediaTakeOut recently reported that the eyewear designer has taken a romantic-liking to her longtime friend Roble Ali, star of Bravo’s former “Chef Roble & Co.”
According to the site’s sources, Cynthia and Roble have “been fiends for years --and now that they are both single, they’re dating.”
The famous pastry chef is even rumored to appear in a few episodes of RHOA with Cynthia, which they’ve reportedly already filmed.
Neither Cynthia or Roble have confirmed the dating rumors. However, Roble did fuel speculation when he posted a picture of the duo on Instagram, which he ironically captioned, “Wife goals.”
RHOA season nine is currently in production, so it won’t be too much longer before we all find out the status of all of Cynthia's relationships.

Do you think Cynthia is dating Chef Roble?

‘Empire' season 3 spoilers: Cookie, Lucious Lyon's relationship to be put to the test
"Empire" season 3 will continue to put Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious' (Terrence Howard) relationship to the test.
In the finale episode for season 2, Cookie decided to stay away from Lucious after the latter wed Anika Cookie was shocked with Lucious' decision especially since things have been going to well for them.

Even though Cookie previously denied still having feelings for her estranged husband, her son Jamal (Jussie Smollett) somewhat figured it out.
Due to this, it wasn't very surprising to know that Cookie reacted very indifferently towards Lucious.

In an interview with TV Guide, executive producer Sanaa Hamri explained the dynamics between Lucious and Cookie in the upcoming episodes.
"Remember, she has said to the kids that 'The love between me and your father, it runs deep.' There's a deep emotional connection, and you feel it when you see the flashbacks. They have children together; they have a bond. To her, the marriage to Anika is beyond symbolic, and she has to walk away. I don't know what she's going to do, but Cookie is always going to come back with a vengeance. It's going to be fun to go on her journey. She's still co-CEO of Empire. Does she give up Empire? Does she clap back? That'll be fun to watch," she explained.
Meanwhile, now that Lucious and Anika are now married, it seems that the latter will receive some kind of protection from what she did to Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) in season 2.
According to Hamri, Anika will continue to be in huge trouble because even if Lucious will protect her, Andre (Trai Byers) will definitely find a way to destroy her.

"Anika is in so much trouble. And of course she still has feelings for Lucious. They shared a relationship. But everybody is out for self trying to preserve his and herself, and that's what's tragic about parts of her character - she has to go to such lengths to protect herself," she explained.
When the series returns to FOX this fall, Hakeem will also most likely find revenge against his own father.
"Empire" season 3 will premiere on FOX sometime this September.

Video: PJ Morton – Sticking To My Guns
PJ Morton brings us that real deep south soul with the music video for, “Sticking To My Guns,” the title track from his newly-released maxi single. The five-track maxi-single is the prelude to his upcoming studio album, which will be released in early 2017. This will be Morton’s first full-length solo release since returning to New Orleans and forming his record label, Morton Records.

The music video for “Sticking To My Guns” was filmed, directed and edited in New Orleans by Allendra “Cinemadona” Freeman, who recently worked with Morton filming and directing the video for “I Need Your Love,” and served as a cinematographer on Beyoncé’s Lemonade film and single, “Formation.” Beginning with an idea to film a concept based on the Black Lives Matter Movement, Cinemadona brought her vision to life using real-world experiences of both her and Morton’s culture of growing up in New Orleans and the church, being immersed in gospel, jazz and blues.

Check out the video HERE
Sticking to My Guns (maxi single) is available on iTunes and all digital retailers.

New Hip Hop: Ace Hood feat. Rick Ross – ‘Go Mode’
Ace Hood and Rick Ross are in “Go Mode.” The Floridian duo teams up on a new slapper that allows them to get into “beast mode” over a high-powered beat.
Following last month’s “4th Quarter,” Ace uses this track to show his loyalty for Renzel by repurposing a famous Future line. “My ni**a Fat Boy don’t trust you,” he raps. “I’ma squeeze clips.” From there, Rozay follows up by rhyming about everything from the death of his friend in 1994 to making a Tupac reference.

Hood, who’s gearing up to drop StarVation, said he wanted to deliver something strong on this new banger. “Wrote this record from a show and prove perspective,” he told Complex. “‘Go Mode’ to me is the equivalent of being in beast mode, just going after whatever it is you want by any means necessary.”

Listen to “Go Mode” HERE.
Ace and Ross are frequent collaborators who’ve teamed up on a slew of tracks throughout the years, including “Bugatti,” “Out Here Grindin’,” and “I Ain’t Worried.”

‘Single Ladies’ Actor Harold House Moore Guilty of Molestation
Harold “House” Moore is going to prison for child molestation, according to Gwinnett Daily Post. The actor was convicted Friday of violating a 15-year-old girl in Gwinnett County. Moore, who had reportedly been playing Dr. Dre in a forthcoming Tupac Shakur biopic, is facing five to 20 years in prison. According to the site,
"the jury returned its verdict after more than nine hours of deliberation, finding him guilty of sneaking into the girl’s bedroom and touching her early in the morning on Nov. 25, 2012, according to a news release from the Gwinnett district attorney’s office."
"Defense attorney Shannon Briley-Holmes has already prepared a motion for a new trial. The document is critical of Judge Timothy Hamil’s decisions on the bench."
"One point she said she took exception to was Hamil allowing the state to refer to the victim as a “victim” in court."

"“The Court stated words to the effect of, ‘The State will call the victim whatever it wants to,’” Briley-Holmes wrote in the motion. “Really? Could the State call the victim Mother Teresa?”"
"Moore testified during the trial, which was prosecuted by Nigel Lush, and maintained his innocence, but the defendant couldn’t explain why the girl would falsely accuse him, said Dan Mayfield, chief assistant DA."

"The victim, whose connection to the defendant wasn’t released, made an outcry to a friend immediately after the crime. Gwinnett police Cpl. Ben Ervin of the special victim’s unit interviewed the victim and Moore."
Moore is known for his appearance on “Single Ladies,” “CSI” and Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne”.

THE VH1“Hip Hop Honors” Photoshoot is out but Lil Kim but the skintone is quite GHOSTLY!
Lil Kim Does it AGAIN!

We’re days away before the premiere of VH1’s "Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens" show. And before the show airs live, the female Hip Hop pioneers got dressed up for a promo photoshoot.
After a six-year hiatus, Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott, Lil Kim and Salt-N-Pepa will be honored at this year’s all female show to celebrate their rise to the top of a male-dominated genre.

Brooklyn raptress Lil Kim has us scratching our heads with her new promo shot. The “Crush On You” rapper got made up in white make up and a winter white wig for the shoot seemingly channeling X-Men character Storm.  Interestingly, no one else in the shoot was in costume.  So...
She flossed her curves in a black lace corset paired with black lace stockings. While we're feeling Kimmy's ensemble for the shoot, we can't say we're feeling whatever the hell is going on here. Like, why is this photo happening?  WHAT is happening here?  Never before have we wanted this badly for someone to go buy some Fashion Fair and Iman Cosmetics and go to town on that face.
Meanwhile, Queen, Missy and Salt-N-Pepa slayed their pics for the promo shoot:
Get it ladies!

VH1's "Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queens" airs Monday July 11th at 9/8c with performances by Common, Pharrell, Timbaland, Naughty by Nature and Da Brat.

Dwyane Wade Leaves Miami; Heads Home to Chicago
Dwyane Wade #3 of the Miami Heat watches on against the Charlotte Hornets during game four of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2016 NBA Playoffs at Time Warner Cable Arena on April 25, 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
*If you haven’t heard, Dwyane Wade has decided to book up outta Miami and take his talents to his hometown of Chicago and play for the Bulls. And we thought he might head to Cleveland and hook up with his boy, LeBron James, but we was wrong!

“This was not an easy decision, but I feel I have made the right choice,” Wade said in a letter released to The Associated Press:
Dear Miami,

This has been an extremely emotional and tough decision to come to. After 13 years, I have decided to embark on a new journey with the Chicago Bulls. This was not an easy decision, but I feel I have made the right choice for myself and my family.

I started my NBA career with the Miami Heat in 2003 and it has been an honor to have played with them and help build a winning franchise with three NBA championships. I look back with pride and amazement at all we have accomplished together. I want to express my gratitude to the Arison family, Pat Riley, Coach Erik Spoelstra, the coaching staff, and the entire Miami Heat organization.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the Miami community and especially (hash)HEATNATION for all of their love and support over the years. It has been truly incredible. I am deeply moved and appreciative of the positive messages from my fans expressing that they want what’s best for me and I know they will support my decision. The memories including championship parades and five conference titles are incredible moments we have shared that will always remain close to my heart as I begin the next chapter of my life.
Growing up in Robbins, Ill., I never dreamed that an NBA career could have even been possible and that one day I would wear a Chicago Bulls jersey. Watching the Bulls growing up inspired me at an early age to pursue my dream of becoming a basketball player. My most treasured memories were watching my dad play basketball on the courts of Fermi Elementary School and developing my game at the Blue Island Recreation Center. I have never forgotten where I came from and I am thankful to have an opportunity to play for the team that first fueled my love of the game. Many of my family members still live in Chicago and I am excited to return home to a city very close to my heart.

I look forward to returning to my roots and to what lies ahead.

Much Love and Respect,
D. Wade

As far as the arrangement with Chicago is concerned, Wade has agreed to a two-year deal worth $47 million, according to the AP. The Miami Heat, Wade’s team for his entire 13-year career, had a two-year, $40 million offer on the table for him.
“He’s home,” one source close to Wade said of the Chicago native.
Acrimony had been building between Wade and the Heat over the past week. Wade met with Heat owner Micky Arison in New York on Monday, but obviously he didn’t get what he wanted.

“Miami dared a very proud man to go home, and that man’s best friend [LeBron James] just won a title by going home,” a source close to the process told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

Tamar Braxton’s awkward run-in with ‘The Real’ execs
There’s still bad blood between “The Real” and its former co-host Tamar Braxton, who was blindsided when the show gave her a pink slip this summer.
Braxton and her former colleagues were all booked at the same hotel in New Orleans for the Essence Festival, but Braxton bolted for new lodging.

“Tamar lasted one night in that hotel. She and her husband Vince [Herbert] kept running into executives from Warner Bros. and Tamar was very uncomfortable. She even walked through the lobby with dark black ‘Jackie O’ sunglasses. They were booked into a new hotel room first thing the next morning. Everyone was talking about how they demanded to leave,” a source told Page Six.

Billboards of the show featuring remaining hosts Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon and Jeannie Mai were plastered all over the city to promote special live episodes from the Big Easy. The ladies also posted shots with Oprah and several other stars while at the weekend fest.

Meanwhile, Braxton was there to fête sister Toni Braxton at McDonald’s 365Black Awards. Tamar has another talk show in the works with Steve Harvey. Reps did not comment.

Second Black Man, Philando Castille, Fatally Shot By Police This Week
A second man has been shot and killed by police this week. Philando Castille, 32, was shot and killed during a traffic stop Wednesday night in Falcon Heights, MN.

Castille and girlfriend Lavish Reynolds were stopped for a broken tail light. Reynolds, who captured the aftermath of the shooting, said her Castille had a permit for his weapon and informed the officer he was armed. Reynolds said Castille was reaching for his ID upon the request of the officer when he was shot.

The video shows the officer pointing a gun at the couple from outside the car. The officer can be heard saying, “I told him not to reach for it. I told him to get his hand out.”

Castille was transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center was he died.
Castille worked as a cafeteria worker at J.J. Hill School for over a decade.

Duchess Kate in a £1,580 Barbara Casasola in London: sexy, pretty or blah?
Here are some photos of the Duchess of Cambridge Wednesday evening in London. Kate attended an event at the Natural History Museum to present the Art Fund Museum of the Year prize. BTW,Kate is patron to the Natural History museum, but here she is. She’s also patron of the National Portrait Gallery. She attends events at the Natural History museum a few times a year, almost always for some glamorous event. She is, after all, an art history major.

For Wednesday’s event, Kate wore this £1,580 Barbara Casasola dress which I actually like. I like it a lot. It’s a rare thing for Kate – she looks like a sexy and pretty 30-something woman, not a twee college girl or a matronly 50-something. One thing though – this is an off-the-shoulder dress and people could barely tell because of her Wall of Hair.
Kate is also expected to attend at least one of the final games at Wimbledon this week, perhaps Andy Murray’s semifinal match against Tomas Berdych on Friday, or Roger Federer’s Friday match against Milos Raonic. The Wimbledon final could be Murray vs Federer, which would be a very happy occasion. Kate might wait until the final.
