The Daily Buzz for July 20

Matt Damon Is Dashing On GQ’s August 2016 Cover
He’s one of the most-universally-loved guys in Tinseltown, and it turns out
Matt Damon is also popular among his A-list peers.

In his August 2016 cover story for GQ magazine, the “School Ties” stud is
exposed by his friends for being a good guy. Steven Soderbergh states, “You
could walk around town with a checkbook offering to pay people a million
dollars  to say something bad about Matt [Damon], feeling secure you’d never
have to  write a check.”
Furthermore, Tina Fey discusses Matt’s friendship with Ben Affleck- “
People  would be like, ‘[Matt and Ben Affleck] are so cute!’ And I’d be like ‘
They’re  J.Crew sweaters. When you see all the colors next to each other,
they look cute,  but when you get one home, you’re like, Damn, I just got an
orange sweater.’ But  now that is withdrawn. In person, Matt holds up.” Damon
replies, “Ben is the  orange sweater,” and Affleck adds, “The quality that
has allowed Matt to  maintain the illusion that he is Mr. Nice Guy is that
he found a young TV actor  who was just a pretty face and made friends with
him so he would always look  good by comparison. Matt is very media-savvy
and manipulative in that way. He’s  like a mix of [O.J. Simpson defense-team
members] Bob Shapiro and Alan  Dershowitz.

RHoA: NeNe Leakes says she’s Too Busy For ‘RHOA’
NeNe Leakes' streak on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" is finally coming to an end for the 50th time
Now they've been shooting for weeks now, and NeNe is nowhere in sight.
It seemed like she was possibly coming back to the main cast after being named a guest last season. She's been busy with a HSN clothing line, one woman tour, new game show and a stint on "Fashion Police."
Sources tell TMZ 'RHOA' tell us producers have added at least one new cast member, and NeNe -- the only remaining OG ATL housewife -- doesn't look to be part of plans going forward.
We're told "guest appearances" are always a possibility, but as of now producers aren't counting on having NeNe.

We suspect Kim Zolciak might have 2 little words for her ole frenemy ...

#EMPIRE: Jussie the Cook?
The Food Network has ordered six half-hour episodes of “Smollett Eats,” which will showcase favorite foods and recipes among the six siblings that include “Empire’s” Jussie Smollett and “Underground’s” Jurnee Smollett. Jake Smollett (“Eve’s Bayou”) is the head chef of the family that also includes brothers Jocqui and Jojo and sister Jazz. “Smollett Eats,” which bows in August, hails from Triage Entertainment.

Food Network has also enlisted Ayesha Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, to host a six-episode series shot at her home. “Ayesha’s Homemade” will blend cooking segments with glimpses of her life as the wife of an NBA star and mother to two young daughters. The half-hour series from High Noon Entertainment is targeting a fall debut.
“It’s an exciting time for Food Network as demand for food-centric content seems to be at an all-time high,” said Didi O’Hearn, senior VP of programming for Food Network and Cooking Channel.
Actor Greg Grunberg is also set to host the July 17 Food Network special “Nickel and Dining,” featuring his search with friends for good but cheap food in Los Angeles.

On the Cooking Channel, “Star Plates” is a new series featuring celebs stepping in as line cooks at their favorite restaurants. Mindy Kaling, Colin Hanks, Erin Andrews, Minka Kelly and Alyson Hannigan are among the notables set to take part in the show from Authentic Entertainment and Flower Films. “Star Plates” is set to bow in August.

New Music: Nipsey Hussle feat. Dave East & Bino Rideaux – ‘Clarity’
For his latest release, Neighborhood Nip teams up with Dave East and Bino Rideaux on “Clarity,” a mellow banger.
Bino takes care of the hook while Nip raps about being bossed up like a Corleone. Meanwhile, Dave delivers rhymes about the clarity in his Rolex.
It’s unclear whether Dave, Bino, and Nip are teaming up for the song’s video, but over the weekend, Hussle shared a pic he took with East in Crenshaw.

Listen to “Clarity” HERE
Nipsey’s been hard at work, dropping song after song lately. That includes the Mozzy-assisted “Ain’t Hard Enough,” “Question #1” featuring Snoop Dogg, and the Kirko Bangz collaboration “Down as a Great.”

Vincent Herbert Breaks Silence, Addresses Rumors He’s Divorcing Tamar Braxton
Tamar Braxton’s husband, Vincent Herbert, is addressing reports that they’re heading toward divorce. Over the weekend, the singer and her music executive hubby made headlines when news broke that they were throwing up the deuces. However, Vincent says this is untrue, telling ET they are “totally fine.” Herbert says the two went to church on Sunday with their son, 3-year-old Logan, and are currently focused on Braxton’s upcoming album. He adds,

"When God blesses people, there are always people who are going to try to tear them down."
A source close to the couple also tells ET that Braxton and Herbert “are doing fine and they are happier than ever,” and reports of a split are untrue.

‘Cooley High’ Remake For MGM, DeVon Franklin, Common & Tony Krantz
Cooley High has been set for a remake at MGM with DeVon Franklin, Common and Tony Krantz partnering on the seminal 1975 coming-of-age drama. Seth Rosenfeld will write the script. Set in 1960s Chicago and focused on a group of high school pals with big dreams of getting out of the South Side, Cooley High fell in with a series of terrific coming-of-age films that included American Graffiti, The Lords Of Flatbush and The Wanderers.

Beyond that, the original became influential in African-American storytelling, in that it told a complex depiction of life as a black American and didn’t fit the blaxploitation mold of the time. The Michael Schultz-directed film cost $750,000 to make and grossed more than $13 million. Lighthearted at times, Cooley High also addressed serious topics such as gang violence, masculinity, sexism and the value of education in the black community. That made it fertile ground for Franklin, the former Sony exec who has focused on films with uplifting content; Chicago native Common, who with John Legend shared the Oscar for Best Song for Selma‘s “Glory”; and Krantz, whose father Steve Krantz produced the original film. They felt it a timely project in light of the racial unrest that has followed several high-profile shootings throughout the country.

Franklin will produce through his Franklin Entertainment, Common under Freedom Road Productions and Krantz through Flame Ventures. Drew Comins will executive produce for Flame Ventures along with Derek Dudley for Freedom Road. Jonathan Glickman and Adam Rosenberg will oversee the project for MGM, which is coming off the success of Me Before You, which it produced. That pic, starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin based on Jojo Moyes’ bestseller, has grossed $172.9M worldwide since Warner Bros released it last month.

Nooooo. They are going to make it corny. You need a cool writer and someone who lived...
Rosenfeld, whose credits include HBO’s How to Make It in America and King of the Jungle, is working on Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix series The Get Down. Franklin, Common, Krantz and Rosenfeld are all repped by CAA. Franklin is also repped by attorney John Meigs at Hansen Jacobsen.

Uh-Oh! Trouble In Paradise For T.I. And Tiny?
Another day, another breakup rumor. This time it’s T.I. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris who are supposedly on the rocks.

The rapper and the singer, who just gave birth to baby girl Heiress Harris, have hit a rough patch, this according to TheJasmineBrand. Apparently, things are so bad that Tameka has moved out of the family home and has gotten her own place. But, the two aren’t planning to divorce just yet. They’re hoping this separation will help them get things back on track. No word on why they’ve decided to split for a bit, but the source says Tiny has had enough of T.I.’s behavior … whatever that means.

So, what are T.I. and Tiny saying? Not much. They’re letting their actions do the talking. Tameka just posted a video on the family who is currently on vacation. All looks well with the Harris household.
It’s worth noting that their reality show “T.I. and Tiny’s Family Hustle” returns to VH1 tonight, so do you think they could just be keeping up appearances for the show?

Guess Who’s Replacing Beyonce In Bradley Cooper’s New Film
Bradley Cooper has found another singing sensation to star in his upcoming remake of “A Star is Born”, and it’s none other than Lady Gaga.

The “Born This Way” singer agreed to fill the role after Beyonce dropped out because production couldn’t afford her hefty $8 million pay demand. The total budget for the movie is said to be $40 million.
According to “Page Sixx,” Cooper was extremely disappointed to loose his first choice, but heavily recruited Gaga to fill the role. “Bradley flew out to direct Gaga in the audition himself, and she knocked it out of the park. Then he personally took the tape to Warner Bros. to get approval,” a source told the magazine.

The remake of the movie — which was itself a remake of a 1937 original — will be Coopers directorial debut. Clint Eastwood was originally set to direct back in 2011, when Beyoncé’s name was first mentioned as the female lead.

Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Christian Bale were all reported to fill the male lead role, but the movie kept being delayed.

Gaga recently won a Golden Globe for her role in American Horror Story.

HERE’S A SNEAK PEEK INSIDE TATYANA ALI'S WEDDING!
Wedding bells rang for Tatyana Ali over the weekend as she trekked down the aisle to marry the love of her life, Dr. Vaughn Rasberry.
The nuptials were complete with an epic “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunion. The all grown-up “Ashley Banks” shared her special day with cast mates turned extended family members Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, and Alfonso Ribeiro (along with his wife Angela Unkrich). Ahh… the nostalgia!
The 37-year-old actress, who’s expecting her first child with her now husband, married Dr. Rasberry (whom she met on eHarmony) in a Caribbean inspired ceremony held at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills in front of 120 guests Sunday afternoon.
“It’s just a little over a hundred people, she told PEOPLE. "It’s our closed friends and family and that obviously includes a lot of people that I worked with over the years.”
Gorge!  The mom-to-be and excited bride glowed in an off-white silk Amsale gown and she carried white peonies and cream garden roses as she walked down the aisle. Her bridesmaids wore tea length, raspberry-colored Amsale dresses.

The couple wrote their own vows that had several guests teary eyed during the ceremony. Aww...

While Tatyana said she wasn’t nervous about the ceremony, she did reveal she and her husband didn’t agree on one thing. And that was the cake. “I love chocolate and Vaughn loves vanilla, so we’re having a tiered cake,” she said. “I’m not into his cake and he’s not into mine! So we get to share!”
Now, the couple is eager to the next big milestone in their life: their new baby! "I just want to see my baby," Tatyana said. "I can't wait to smell the baby. That's what I think about."

Congrats again to the happy couple!

Lady Gaga And Taylor Kinney Call Off Engagement!
They’ve been together since 2011, but it looks like the romance is over for Lady Gaga and her fiancé Taylor Kinney.
The “Just Dance” songstress and the “Chicago Fire” stud broke up earlier this month, though neither of them has released a statement to comment on the split.

Over the weekend, Gaga was spotted partying with friends in Cabo San Lucas, while Taylor was noticeably absent.
