The Daily Buzz For June 9

Serena Williams is FAB in White For The Cover Of ‘Glamour’ Magazine!
Serena Williams is white hot in a white bodysuit on the cover of Glamour magazine’s “Women Are Strong As Hell” issue. The tennis powerhouse was also captured in a black and silver fringe dress.

During her chat with the publication, she talked being given the label of “the world’s greatest athlete,” her and her sister, Venus, being the original #BlackGirlMagic, Drake being blamed for her loss at the U.S. Open and much more.

Read highlights from her interview below..

On if she welcomes the label of “the world’s greatest athlete”:

Oh my gosh, I don’t know. That’s so hard to say. I try to be the best that I can be every day. I have bad days. I had a bad day the other day. I hit for only, like, 30 minutes, and I stormed off the court. But that was the best I could do on that day. So am I the greatest? I don’t know. I’m the greatest that I can be.

On her and her sister, Venus, being the original #BlackGirlMagic:

That’s something. I meet people who say, “Girl, I watch every match, and I pray for you.” I feel that energy and those prayers. Sometimes when I’m down on the court, in the back of my mind, I’m thinking, “They want me to win. Is there anything else I can give?” It encourages me to do better, to fight harder.

On if it’s fair that Drake, who she was rumored to be dating at the time, was blamed as a distraction that caused her U.S. Open loss:

No. I don’t think that was fair. I’m the one who’s playing, who’s making mistakes or making winners. I’m not one to blame anyone else for anything. And I don’t think anyone else should either. I played a really good opponent that day. And I wasn’t at my best.
On what it’s like playing tennis in her thirties, as some people view it as a time for athletes to be wrapping up:

Who says that your thirties is when you’re supposed to be done? I would like to know who made that rule! I was talking to my mom one time, like, “Gosh, I’m 30.” And she’s like, “In your thirties you’re even stronger than in your twenties.” I didn’t believe her, but I have played better in my thirties. And I played pretty well in my twenties, don’t get me wrong! But my consistency is better, my momentum is better, my wins are quicker.

On if she wants a family of her own:

Yeah. I definitely want to have kids one day. That’s something I’ve always wanted since as long as I could remember. And the older I get, the more I’m like, “I’m too young!” [Laughs.]

#RHOA: Matt Jordan Fires Back At Kenya Moore — Denies Abuse Claims & Accuse The #RHOA Star of Lying
Although the couple’s initial split appeared amicable, things quickly turned ugly with allegations of abuse surfaced. Since All About the Tea broke the breakup news last week, a lot of mud-slinging has ensued.

As reported, the split was triggered by a heated argument between Kenya and Matt, during a Memorial Day weekend in Mexico. Kenya allegedly locked herself in their hotel room, and Matt became furious and “kicked the door in and broke it.” Matt busted in and escalated the dispute — repeatedly calling Kenya “bitch” and “c**t.”

Below is a now-deleted Instagram post Kenya made after the alleged incident occurred.
Now Matt is firing back in a blistering Instagram post — blasting his former girlfriend over the abuse accusations. Although Kenya never named Matt directly as her abuser — her broken sunglasses post suggested it. Matt denies the claims and is alleging that Kenya gave an “inaccurate” account of events that transpired on their Mexican vacation to a RHOA producer.

On Tuesday night, the personal trainer posted the following now-deleted statement on his Instagram page.
Matt ended his diatribe with, “Still love her tho,” offering hope that the former love birds could reconcile.
Miss Moore is currently in L.A. working and has not responded to Matt‘s latest statement as yet.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, K dished on the meaning of her album More Issues Than Vogue, saying:
Basically, I just saw that scrolling down my timeline about a year ago. I started laughing because people have this perception of me, and it used to bother me, but now it really doesn’t because everybody wants to place people in their character role. For me, there’ll always be issues and things placed upon me whether they be true or not. So I used the title to clear up and kinda poke fun at things people say about me.

The K. Michelle: My Life star announced that she is taking over BET’s Snapchat today for Black Music Month.

New Hip Hop: Rick Ross, Meek Mill, & Wale – ‘Make It Work’
Family first. Meek Mill and Wale put aside their differences and come together on MMG’s latest posse cut, which also features Rick Ross.
“Make It Work” is a high-energy banger, filled with street talk and boasts from the Maybach Music spitters. “I’ma make it work,” raps Rozay over the Jahlil Beats production. “Diamonds all on my hands / Know I make it work.”
Prior to their reunion, Meek and Wale had a hard time making things work between them. In 2014, Meek beefed with Wale, claiming his fellow MMG MC had “been hating” on him. They soon reconciled, only to fall out again last year.
At the time, Wale claimed Meek brought a “pencil to a gun fight” in his Drake beef. Mill then asked Folarin to “jump off a roof.” However, it seems they’ve put that to the side for Renzel.

The song is the first single off MMG’s upcoming Self Made, Vol. 4 compilation, the fourth installment in the Self Made series.

Mariah Carey Teases 2016 Wedding?
She got engaged to billionaire businessman James Packer back in January and now Mariah Carey is gearing up to tie the knot later this year.
The “Always Be My Baby” songstress told Entertainment Tonight she’s shooting for a late-2016 wedding, though her schedule may not allow it.

When asked, “So do you think that you’ve got time this year?” Mariah replied, “To do that? I mean, that’s the goal, but there’s a lot on my plate.” Packer proposed with a 35-carat diamond ring valued at $8 million.

Rumored Love & Hip Hop Houston Cast Revealed
Months ago it was rumored that Love & Hip Hop was looking to expand their franchise. Reportedly Miami and Houston were two locations being shopped around. Well, it looks like both locations could be the new home of LHH.
It was previously announced that Trick Daddy would be joining the cast of Love & Hip Hop Miami. Now it appears we've got the rumored cast of Love & Hip Hop Houston.
We got a tip via email that the Houston cast has been chosen. Check out who they say will be featured and find out a little about them:
Kirko Bangz - Best known for his debut single "What Yo Name Is," and its follow up "Drank In My Cup," Kirko Bangz has spent the last few years touring, dropping new music and collaborating with hip hop's biggest artist. Kirko is a handsome guy, and a ladies man.  That's likely to play out on the show. (@kirkobangz)

Propain - Propain is a promising rapper coming out of Houston. Of the new class, he's definitely one that's known for his lyrical ability and his love for his city. As far as drama, it doesn't seem that's his thing, so it'll be interesting to see what his storyline will focus on. (@propain713)

Jhonni Blaze - Jhonni was previously featured on the 2015 season of Love & Hip Hop. She didn't make it to 2016, and maybe this is why. Jhonni Blaze is a former stripper and singer. Her appearances on Love and hip Hop NY concentrated mostly on her working with Rich Dollaz and the catastrophe that became. Maybe they'll use Houston as an opportunity to continue her story line.

Mehgan James - Mehgan James is a reality show veteran. Previously from Bad Girls Club and Basketball Wives LA, we can probably expect to see lots and lots of drama. She's also been posting about her phone being hacked and the possibility of nudes leaking. It's safe to assume that'll make it to the show. (@xoxomehg)

Pro Boxers Charlo Twins - The Charlo Twins have been gaining popularity over the last few months and this is probably why. They're boxers, they're twins, reportedly Jay Z once wanted to sign them to Roc Nation but the money situation wasn't as desirable as they'd like. We'll have to see what they bring to the table. (@twincharlo & @futureofboxing)

J. Prince Jr. - J. Prince Jr. is the heir to Rap-A-Lot Records CEO, James Prince. He promotes, runs labels, knows all of the celebrities, and if it's going down in Houston, he'll probably be there. It's quite likely his brother, Jas Prince, will make a few cameos on the show as well. (@jprincejr)

The Sauce Twins - The Sauce Twins are most known for their smash hit "2 Legited 2 Quited" and have a strong following in Houston and created a huge movement. They once had a beef with Drake too. Let's see how that plays out on television. (@sauce_walka102 & @sancho_saucy)

Just Brittany - Just Brittany is a singer that has been in the game for a very very long time. She got her start almost a decade ago, signed to Cash Money, while it was rumored she was dating Birdman. She's managed to maintain a career and a unique look. She most recently made waves online when it was rumored that Rihanna borrowed parts of her "B*tch Better Have My Money" (@queenjustbrittany)

Lil Keith - Lil Keith is a party promoter in Houston who's been in the game for a very long time. Everyone knows that if it's a Lil Keith party, it's bound to be lit. It's no wonder that someone with as many
connections in the city would end up on Love and Hip Hop. This one was kind of a no brainer. (@lilkeith)

DJ Eric - DJ Eric is the DJ at the infamous V Live strip club in Houston, TX. With shout outs from Drake and several other celebrities, it was pretty obvious he'd make the cut somehow. (@713djeric)
It's unknown how big of a role each of these guys will have on the show, or if this is the final list.
Eventually it will be confirmed by VH1, so for now it's just a waiting game.

Maria Sharapova banned for two years for failed drugs test but NIKE will still keep her Endorsement!
Maria Sharapova has been banned for two years by the International Tennis Federation for using a prohibited drug.

The Russian was provisionally banned in March after testing positive for meldonium at January's Australian Open.
The heart disease drug, which 29-year-old Sharapova says she has been taking since 2006 for health issues, became a banned substance on 1 January 2016.
The five-time Grand Slam winner said she "cannot accept" the "unfairly harsh" ban - and will appeal.
Sharapova will challenge the suspension, which is backdated to 26 January 2016, at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
In a statement, she said the tribunal concluded her offence was "unintentional" and that she had not tried to use a "performance-enhancing substance".

But she claimed the ITF had asked the tribunal to impose a four-year ban, adding it "spent tremendous amounts of time and resources trying to prove I intentionally violated the anti-doping rules".
The tribunal ruling said Sharapova tested positive for meldonium in an out-of competition test on 2 February, as well as in the aftermath of her Australian Open quarter-final defeat by Serena Williams on 26 January. It treated both results as a single anti-doping violation.
The London 2012 Olympic silver medallist added: "I have missed playing tennis and I have missed my amazing fans... your love and support has gotten me through these tough days.
"I intend to stand for what I believe is right and that's why I will fight to be back on the tennis court as soon as possible."

The ITF will not appeal against the tribunal's decision.
Nike, which suspended its relationship with Sharapova in January, said it would "continue to partner" the Russian, based on the tribunal's findings.
Sharapova was Forbes' highest-paid female athlete for 11 consecutive years, until Williams moved above her this year. The American made £28.9m from winnings and endorsements to Sharapova's £21.9m.
Aged 17, Sharapova became the first Russian to win Wimbledon in 2004, added the US Open in 2006 and the Australian Open in 2008, before completing a career Grand Slam with the French Open title in 2012.

She won the French Open again in 2014, but the 2018 tournament in Paris is the next major Sharapova can enter, when she will be 31.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) said in April that scientists were unsure how long meldonium stayed in the system, and suggested athletes who tested positive before 1 March could avoid bans, provided they had stopped taking it before 1 January.
However, Sharapova had already admitted she continued taking the substance past that date, saying she was unaware it had been added to the banned list as she knew it by another name - mildronate.
In reaching its verdict, the ITF recognised Sharapova had not intentionally broken anti-doping rules, as she did not know that mildronate contained a banned substance from January of this year.

But the federation said the Russian was "the sole author of her own misfortune", as she had "failed to take any steps to check whether continued use of the medicine was permissible".
